How To Scare Away Boyfriends

  • This is how we prepare for the apocalypse and boyfriends. It started out as a mobile archery target and backstop for my girls to practice but then I added axe throwing into the mix. Now we can compete side by side at archery or axe throwing. We just have to swap out the targets. This was an easy project to build. I used rubber horse stall mats as a backstop. The backstop keeps us from losing arrows and it also keeps the axes from bouncing back on a miss. This is how you raise them right. Boyfriends and zombies don't stand a chance. The oldest daughters draw length is a good bit too long for her. That’s the single biggest issue that will cause accuracy problems with any archer. There is a pdf on the internet called the nuts and bolts of archery that does a great job explaining proper draw length and form. Great video!

You can buy nylon archery netting. They are light, can take the abuse of certain hunting tips and can be strung up just about anywhere using parachord or a thin cable; plus they are a soft capture so you don't have to worry about shoving the tip back into the arrow shaft.

Yes. Thank you. It just skipped past us. A little rain and wind. Copenhagen is tobacco dip. It comes in a round can and leaves an imprint in the jeans of people (usually men) who use it. 😄

As you can probably tell I'm binge watching your videos... in no particular order... but... it is strange how your hair is long in one video and short in another... I'm almost thinking that you have a wig depending on what type of project you are doing! 😀

Thanks Peter! It's actually CGI. I'm completely hairless. Studies show people relate to people with body hair better. It takes weeks of work and millions of dollars to create the effect for every video. 😁

after seeing Axe throwing, I just might need to overbuild this too. Might need a second mat, though, so I can have kids work on BB guns.

    • @HAXMAN
      @HAXMAN  Pƙed rokem

Yeah. I actually wanted to hang two matts side by side. That would have made the overall width two feet wider and the matts would have hung lower.

I realize your video is now a month old. but I just found it. You may have covered this in other content, but a serious reminder that once our nations systems start to fail, there will be variances to the way you practice preparation. Example, hardware store will be empty. Nothing will be done casually. When an arrow, bolt, projectile of any kind is released, it will be under pressure,

Here's the next training goal for all the Family:
Use a stapler to attach a grid of small balloons to that rubber back-drop.
Give everyone some good slingshots and standard bar darts and teach them how to shoot darts with a slingshot.
Related: You can also purchase slingshot darts (specially-made for sling use) and teach them how to use those, too.
That grid of balloons can be used for some great target practice and, at the same time, it makes for a truly fun party game for birthdays.
Also Related: Have you ever heard of slingshot fishing darts? Get everybody a full set, including slingshots, a couple of fishing darts (they're basically miniature spear-fishing spears), and wrist-mounted fishing reel & line. Teach them how to put them together, teach them how to use them and let them practice... and then take them out to the local stream, river, or pond (preferably some place where there's nobody watching) and everybody gets to go slingshot fishing.
    - Give a girl a fish and she'll say "EEEEEWWwwwwwww! You didn't clean it!"
    - Teach a girl to fish and she'll say "EEEEEWWwwwwwww!" and then you get to say, "You catch it, you clean it!"
    - Yet another Learning Opportunity. But, then again, you also get to teach them how to grill fresh-caught fish, which they caught, themselves.
I have theorized (but never attempted it), that those slingshot fishing darts could also be used to hunt small-to-medium game, such as wabbits, squirrels, raccoons, badgers, etc. No black powder needed. No loud noises.
(I have NOT scrolled thru your entire channel, so IDK how much of this you've already tried. I hope your ladies at least have a set of slingshots and know how to shoot and know how to attach new bands. And I hope they love them some plinking. Please let me know if I'm covering territory you-all have already explored. And if you haven't feel free to talk with me about ideas.
When it comes to ideas, I'm really full of it.
    Wait...
