I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

It is insane we are paying federal+state+sales+highest property taxes…I’m paying +%50 of my earned salary back to the government and states …my money is going to Ukraine and Israel instead of we can get a better healthcare system or infrastructures here in the USA 🇺🇸!

It only lowers your taxable income, NOT your taxes. At a 20 percent tax bracket, a $900 increase in the std deduction will only save you 20% of $900, or $180. Big Deal.

Yeah right.. you get to keep more if you're rich. I'm married filled jointly and it screwed us big time. We got on a higher tax bracket and on top of that we almost got no return. Literally almost nothing.
Math isn't mathing here. We have to PAY taxes this year. Last year we received a refund.
He said that wrong, increasing the income thresholds doesn't automatically increase the standard deduction , they're two different things , so, the tax brackets have changed to reflect a lower tax rate per dollar taxed,... "AND" the std. ded. has also changed.
