I honestly would pack up and leave everything behind if I lived in CA. I wouldn't be able to live with their anti-gun laws. Same for Massachusetts, Connecticut, Chicago, Hawaii, D.C, Colorado, N.Y or New Jersey. I live in Rhode Island which is bad enough with all NFA items being against the law to own. I will move to FL, GA or SC in a flash if any of the surrounding anti-gun states that surround RI try spreading their liberal bullshit such as low magazine capacities or "assault weapons" bans. Fuck that!

Been watching your channel for a little over a year now and really look forward to what new reviews, gunsmithing, reloading, top 5s, etc...also you guys are great salesmen because there's a few guns I would have never thought twice about getting (Martini, k31, m39, and it goes on) that I now own or is on the list to buy because I love the history behind each one and you all introduced metro them so thanks for spending my money. SS17 finest you may have missed so far: Umarex Gauntlet .50 Air Rifle; Chromatra, front-mounted, colour NV attachment; Barrett's Fieldcraft Bolt Action Repeater Rifle and 240LW; SG 751P SAPR in 7.62 x 51 NATO (not at SS17 but new). Plenty of other honourable mentions as well. I like the way Sig Sauer, Kalashnikov USA and Steyr are innovating at the moment. There should be a way us foreign gun enthusiasts can adopt a weapon overseas for our own range use when visiting the states.

  • @kevinbaker6168
    @kevinbaker6168 Před 7 lety

Eric and Chad you are making some great points. The manufacturers have shot themselves in the foot a number of times. Quality of manufacture is a big one, over production is another, and producing models that buyers want but were discontinued years ago. I can see the lower price end AR's, with improvement after market parts, might be an area of the market will offer buyers a great bargain. When you can purchase a complete rifle/carbine for less than the price of the upper alone is a no brainer. When you can buy a complete lower and upper for a price lower than a complete rifle/carbine in the configuration you want, again it is a no brainer. Shop the market, and when you find something you want, at a price you can't walk away from, go ahead, purchase it and don't look back. Right now the market is so crazy with prices coming down, that I never thought I would see it. Particularly when many of the companies were bought up by conglomerates and, as you pointed out, some of the brands and designs have been shelved.

One thing I think you forgot is gun store employees have gotten used to the guns selling themselves. So many of them stopped offering good customer service because they were too busy writing up sale after sale. Now when I walk into many of my local gun stores the service is horrible. You would think the opposite should be true but it is not what I have experienced here in the Phoenix area. I have already bought three guns in 2017 and did a LOT of shopping around and many gun stores I will never return to because they flat out ignored me.

X Here in Australia cant have a semi auto unless your a primary producer.
Had a good look at a heap of different guns.
Remington was high at first 7615 i think pump action 223.
$2500 what a piece of rubbish quality sucks many guys having issues with extractor claws
I ended up buying a Lithgow crossfire 102 in 308win. Great for long distance. $1300
Bought an Adler 12g lever action 5 in tube 1 in breach =6 $850
Had a good look at lever actions in Marlin Winchester the Brazilian guns and others.
I settled on the Henry Big Boy Steel 44mag 20" barrel quality is about the best ive seen on any gun.
Great close quarters gun in the brush i must say its now my favourite. For us double the USA price at $1650
In the old days before the semi auto ban i owned a Swedish Ljungman AG42b best shooting gun i have owned 6.5mm

I took advantage of the low prices of the firearm market by building another intermediate range ar15, which of course needed opitics and a couple of other products that I use on every build. But when it came to stagnation in the market, your point of inovative ideas with the example of the Colt Python is spot on. Bring something hard to get at an affordable price point and sell more than you can imagine. I have always wanted an FN SCAR. The reliability and unique look of the rifle is great. When I had the $2500, I never saw them or would see them for higher, crazier prices. If FN came out with a affordable budget version of the 17 or 16 and ramped up production, they would sell them as fast as they could produce them.

If the next year or two will be an excellent time to start getting into firearms of ALL sorts, how about some videos (or short video series) of how to start, what steps to take next, how to move from 'entry level' to 'more experienced' to 'advanced' to 'expert' as owners and operators, etc. You could do a couple of shows each on hand guns, rifles, shotguns, etc. Something like (JUST for example):
22LR (beginner): What's a good 'basic' 22 long rifle? What to expect, how to maintain/shoot, where to practice, what kinds of hunting is allowed/appropriate, ammo to look for, etc.
22LR (intermediate): What're some 'fancier' 22LR guns ('take-downs,' higher-accuracy guns, more specialized models, etc), basic shooting competitions, some basic 'prepper' uses, some common accessories (basic scopes, suppressors, extended mags), more specialized ammo (low velocity, tracers, etc).
22LR (advanced): What are some 'high-end' 22LR guns (are there such things?), serious competitive shooting, high-end scopes and accessories, specialized stocks, triggers, etc, more 'extreme' survivalist strategies, collectible models, etc.
You could do 3-4 videos each for several types of firearms: AR-15, milsurps, carry guns, other handguns, shotguns, 22LR, etc. but all designed to help shooters from starting out going on up to expert to take advantage of the current market.

RIGHT in the middle of firearmageddon
3 months after sandy hook. I needed up buying an SKS when I graduated and turned it tactical because I couldn't afford a $900 basic AR.
Now I've been buying revolvers, and other things not on the scary market because I already have an ar15, ar10, AK47, SKS and all the scary high capacity magazines. Now I just want cool stuff because o already bought all the tactical stuff during the gun scare

"Everybody makes an AR". The market is full of ARs. Back in the 1971 G&A Annual there was an article with the statement that the M16/AR15 was to expensive to make and that it would go the way of the dodo bird. I guess that author was wrong.

Nice to see prices getting back to a common sense level. Looks like a good time to add to my inventory.

I haven't been hitting that quality control problem, but I think that is due to the fact that I only go for vintage guns.

Just want to say for Chad, if your are willing to have your aac rifle rebarreled you should have it accurized, I wound suggest LongRifles Inc, but there are others that can do a good job. It takes Remington only 12 minutes to make a receiver, so it's really amazing they work at all. But there is definitely room for improvement.

Deals are crazy right now! A few local gun stores are stickign to their pre-election prices, but they won't be able to hold out for long! It is a good time to buy that _______ you've been keeping your eye on! Especially black rifles, larger magazines, suppressors, etc.

We're seeing the same thing in other industries, I think it's simple economics. Trump is going to destroy the economy for anyone who isn't super rich, and everyone knows that.

Buy low and sell high. Nows the time to buy. During the ammo and gun ban scares prices were sky high from frantic buying and manufacturers capitalizing on the opportunity to make massive profits.

It would be awesome if you would regularly change the guns out on the wall behind you. I enjoy checking them out while listening and would love to see more.

Pass the HPA, remove suppressors from NFA, Lift the import ban on firearms and ammo. That in itself would help the Firearm market.
