Put 1200 miles on my Gt carbon never had conetion issues luckily with controller.Battery sag was real but not that big of a deal unless I went on long rides in hilly areas.Not to say the batterys weren't junk because they were only lasted a couple years .But no board was perfect at the time.All had problems. Board was easy to work on and easy to maintain. Now I have the carbon GTR and it's a hole another beast.No battery sag with 18650 cells ,no connection issues . Which I never had in 1st place. Trucks are steel now.Esc is in a case to protect it.Board has an app.Street wheels are better quality. Evolve fixed there problems and put a better board out so I give them props for that. I've owned over 20 electric skateboards and am also a DiY builder so I no what's out there.You can check out my channel. Should have evolve offered battery replacement for older boards.Yes of course.But it's not surprising they didnt.Most company's would of done the same thing,And just offer a better board like they did. If companies don't make money they don't make boards pure and simple. A company has to be profitable.Now we have big names like boosted and riptide going out of business and even acton switching to rideshare business and where losing alot of big names.So I'm glad company's like evolve metroboard are still around. On another note evolve fix your app.The maps to track rides sucks.And if somone has an old GT or bamboo buy an aftermarket battery people.They will not blow up your board they work fine.As long as the pack is built buy a good builder.Do your research.

By the Way before Dissing the DIY builders of you do it right you can make the board last With aftermarket batteries i had mine for over a year now and still goes as far as you do on the carbon on my gtb With a DIY battery but thumbs up for evolve they are the Best street/all around board out there. đ

Not sure what makes the evolve gtr the best but if youâre going by specs then Iâd say the MetroboardX is the best âall aroundâ board. Same thing as the carbon gtr but looks 100 times sexier and is way faster and has quite a bit more range and also uses waaay better quality parts that are way more beefy and heavy duty.
In about an hour UPS will deliver my GTR Carbon AT.. Just want to let you know - this video gave me the last and final push to get Carbon over Bamboo. Overall - this video simply encouraged me to go for it. Keep up the good work and maybe one day see you in UK on one of the group rides. Lets go!

Was wondering what all this sag talk is about... Never noticed it much.. untill i put on the AT wheels and went for a ride in GT mode.. haha.. 1/5th of my usual range... Now I'm jealous. Would love to go full speed with AT and not have to walk home lol
I got a carbon GT in 2017, if I knew about its battery sag I wouldn't have bought it. When my battery started to sag I contacted evolve about the reduced range in the board, they skirted around the fact that it was battery sag and even suggest I replace the battery at $500 with the same garbage battery. If you're referring to Jay Boston as the snake you commented at the end, he called out evolve on the battery sag. I'm not a big fan of Boston after that kiss a$$ video he did with evolve. DIY is the only way to go and I haven't heard anything bad about the battery upgrade. Maybe evolve should have a warranty longer than 6 months and if DIYers are such a hazard to their board they should have an upgrade program to fix their old boards.

Itâs totally down to a personal thing, I like loose trucks but the shouldnât be too loose you wobble when flat out. Best way is to do all 4 nuts up hand tight, ie where you have to start to apply pressure to turn. Then undo only the bottom nuts one whole turn back at least. Ride, take. The roll with you then just undo only these two nuts one turn at a time to get the carve you love and feel comfy with at speed đđ»đ€đ»đ»
Yea I love the video but disliked the music. There is no need for the music. Just have real life sound of the world. If I wanted to listen to music I would just put on a youtube music video instead. I had the sound completely off and just turned it on when he was talking. when the music started again i turned it off again. I wanted to hear the sound of the motors and wheels but no suck luck :( Andy, in the future if you need to have music in your videos, just have it very low in the background please.
Yep they are called gform. Really comfy and can fit under clothes etc. Just make sure the size you get is tight or they will slip. Kept me safe for years! đđ»đđ»đ»đ€đ»

Grey area, Iâve been riding them since 2012 never any real hassle. Stopped by police 4 times, 2 asked about it, 1 had a go and the other asked me to get on pavement. Long as your not going stupid cutting through people and traffic fast itâs no dramas. đđ»đđ»đ€đ»
18.4 = 29 Kilometers On off-road wheels ? whaaaat? im happy if i can even do 10km=6miles on my GTX evolve with off road wheels. The battery just drains insanely fast if i dont have street wheels on. With street wheels i did about 50km/ 31 miles if i rode on a pretty flat surface very little up hill on GT Mode all the way.
When I did this video the board had not been released yet or unveiled. Back then you couldnât skate in London without bumping into another eskater đđ»
Depends how hard you ride ie lots of hard acceleration and breaking vs smooth consistent cruise, how fast, how many hills, type of terrain (off road vs tarmac) but normally over 1 hour easy đđ»
Not sure, I wasnât taking it easy on purpose. Trying give them battery a good test. đđ»đ€đ» I would guess between 15-20mph as thatâs what I normally cruise at but regularly hitting top end

Nope, stats was correct for flat riding in Eco. This was 2016, just need to flick through all my vids to see how much fun I had with the GT range. Sag you just had to adjust your riding style when low on juice. Now 3 years later GTR is here and you no longer need to worry. Times change fella tech moves on
Well no I am definitly not happy now!!! And you can call me snake but as for me, what has be delivered so far is blatlantly bad orchestred commercial/marketing practicies and to hear your final fan boy promotional "Evolve loves the communtiyt, they delivered, everyone should be happy in wonderland" pisses me off even more. So here is what I think about it (and posted on evolve channel) Evolve Evolve Evolve... I have to admit that I am a pretty annoyed customer... And despite all the smile and all the "excitement" I feel quite bitter, to say the least, about the Evovlve brand as I have the impression that I have been dupped by a marketing trickery : Last March, despite lurking on other electric skateboard brands, I was attracted by the "10 years anniversary" sales and I got myself an Evolve board. "Yippee-Kai-Yay motherfucker!" Pretty new to the esk8, I, for sure, enjoyed my board, but quickly discovered and got frustrated by is limitation, aka sag, which makes it litteraly unusable beyond 50% battery, specialy when riding in my area which is mainly made of hills. It's a great board and for most of it I love it... but it doesn't check everthing it says on the box, which is what you expect when you decide to spend the money on the (supposidly) higher end product instead of (supposidly) lower range "chinesery" Not even 2 month down the line, Here come the new borns, annonced with a sensational marketing campaign : "here guys, see on the production line, our new boards with all news features among which the new battery structure which gives no battery sag (even if our previous battery was great!" . So here it is, the product I thought I was buying in the first place! A board with 30km range (not my actual 15-18 km range then walk the hills back home). What I have now is a brand new board (not even 300km) which, in a matter of not even two month has lost all its value. In a matter of days from now, the second hand market is going to be flooded with boards stamped with "the generation of boards that suffered voltage sag". How much can I get for it? a 1/3 of its purchased priced? Now my two only options are to keep riding a board that doesn't fill its promises or spend more money to get a battery upgrade which, not only is not supported by Evolve and will void my guarantee in case of a problem down the line, but also mean I will have spent pretty much the same amount that if I would have wait to get the new model! Now I can already hear people saying "stop wining, you did enjoy the sales" or "what do you expect, tech always evolves, and a company can't stop selling their product because of upcoming new one"... While been partly true, what I found really disappointing and the reason I feel duped, is that, despite being in contact many times with the Evolve (UK) team before buying, I was never alerted that a new product was coming out just in a few weeks. Not 6 month, not 3 month, just 6 weeks. Was the upcoming product so "secret" that even the sales team was not aware? all the marketing campaign was prepared over night? The marketing trickery of the "10 years anniversary", which should have been the announcement of the new boards was consciously done to get rid of stocks. As a customer I should have been offered a fully informed choice : Enjoying a (kind of) good price for a board soon to be old generation or wait just 6 weeks to enjoy the new generation. That is my problem and in my case, for sure, I would have waited. Despite the smiles and "we care about our customer community", like pretty much all brands whith a minimum of ethics do, you could... you should have put all the cards on the table. Fan boys will probably not understand my rant and start with "We all knew it was coming out"... well guess what, apparently... pretendingly, the guys at Evolve didn't.

Everyone had to sign ndas. That said you still have an awesome board. Just look back at all my other videos over 3 years and see the fun I have had with it. All you have to do is when battery gets low adjust your ride and donât be gunning it everywhere. There are certain other things you can do with regards to riding style to increase your ride etc. I know it must be gutting now but you can still have a lot of fun on your board and many adventures. đđ»
I am in the same boat and not happy. I bought a GT Carbon 2 weeks ago! During discussions about battery sag ect nothing was said about a new product coming out. Though I can't blame the individual sales rep/branch as they are under instructions, I can however call out upper management.

Great board all haters are smashed. No sag, no disconnect, bluethooth connection, new designs, new cnc forged trucks, better batteries. Boosted fans can cry with that range and speeds and NO TERRAIN WHEELS!
You really need to learn how to normalize your audio in your vids with the dialogue parts and the music. Or get a better mic. Having to turn my volume and down constantly made me give up getting to the end of the vid. #constructivecritisism
Everyone talking about sag being gone doesn't understand how batteries work. All Evolve did was use code to not give active feedback on battery status Making it look like there is no sag. Another thing that supports my argument is the lack of the battery status screen on the new r2 remote. They did that so you couldn't look at the voltage drop that their software lies about and call them on their bullshit.
There is no sag in the GTR, you feel no difference in performance even at 3%. Vid coming soon but yesterday at Cyclopark we had a 17st guy smashingly around the grass track with only 9%
How educated is this guy regarding battery pack setupsđ€ he gave us no s statistical facts at all. I have had a. Samsung 50 cell in my board and it doesn't sag and I even bet my board would get more miles than his đ by the way the people engineering those battery packs work for Nasa and are Electrical Engineers and you can't compare people that are that smart to some people working in a factory in China with cheap parts that are being used. Look at the way those battery packs in China are being made and the software they are running is designed for battery sag the degradation of those is way to fast and you just got screwed by Evolve again! As for the rest of educated people we will enjoy are boards with 0 battery sag.

I have the same board and the only thing i would change is the rubber plug for the charge port it needs to be a screw on as it never stays in place .

Yeah i agree i hate the AT wheels after riding for one summer with the street wheels. and the speed droppped from 45 km/h to 32 km/h .. snooze boring.

Did you tighten your front trucks more? How loose should they be?
Itâs totally down to a personal thing, I like loose trucks but the shouldnât be too loose you wobble when flat out. Best way is to do all 4 nuts up hand tight, ie where you have to start to apply pressure to turn. Then undo only the bottom nuts one whole turn back at least. Ride, take. The roll with you then just undo only these two nuts one turn at a time to get the carve you love and feel comfy with at speed đđ»đ€đ»đ»

Yea I love the video but disliked the music. There is no need for the music. Just have real life sound of the world. If I wanted to listen to music I would just put on a youtube music video instead. I had the sound completely off and just turned it on when he was talking. when the music started again i turned it off again. I wanted to hear the sound of the motors and wheels but no suck luck :(
Andy, in the future if you need to have music in your videos, just have it very low in the background please.

Yep they are called gform. Really comfy and can fit under clothes etc. Just make sure the size you get is tight or they will slip. Kept me safe for years! đđ»đđ»đ»đ€đ»

Grey area, Iâve been riding them since 2012 never any real hassle. Stopped by police 4 times, 2 asked about it, 1 had a go and the other asked me to get on pavement. Long as your not going stupid cutting through people and traffic fast itâs no dramas. đđ»đđ»đ€đ»

im happy if i can even do 10km=6miles on my GTX evolve with off road wheels. The battery just drains insanely fast if i dont have street wheels on.
With street wheels i did about 50km/ 31 miles if i rode on a pretty flat surface very little up hill on GT Mode all the way.

Depends how hard you ride ie lots of hard acceleration and breaking vs smooth consistent cruise, how fast, how many hills, type of terrain (off road vs tarmac) but normally over 1 hour easy đđ»

Nope, stats was correct for flat riding in Eco. This was 2016, just need to flick through all my vids to see how much fun I had with the GT range. Sag you just had to adjust your riding style when low on juice. Now 3 years later GTR is here and you no longer need to worry. Times change fella tech moves on

And you can call me snake but as for me, what has be delivered so far is blatlantly bad orchestred commercial/marketing practicies and to hear your final fan boy promotional "Evolve loves the communtiyt, they delivered, everyone should be happy in wonderland" pisses me off even more.
So here is what I think about it (and posted on evolve channel)
Evolve Evolve Evolve... I have to admit that I am a pretty annoyed customer... And despite all the smile and all the "excitement" I feel quite bitter, to say the least, about the Evovlve brand as I have the impression that I have been dupped by a marketing trickery : Last March, despite lurking on other electric skateboard brands, I was attracted by the "10 years anniversary" sales and I got myself an Evolve board. "Yippee-Kai-Yay motherfucker!"
Pretty new to the esk8, I, for sure, enjoyed my board, but quickly discovered and got frustrated by is limitation, aka sag, which makes it litteraly unusable beyond 50% battery, specialy when riding in my area which is mainly made of hills. It's a great board and for most of it I love it... but it doesn't check everthing it says on the box, which is what you expect when you decide to spend the money on the (supposidly) higher end product instead of (supposidly) lower range "chinesery"
Not even 2 month down the line, Here come the new borns, annonced with a sensational marketing campaign : "here guys, see on the production line, our new boards with all news features among which the new battery structure which gives no battery sag (even if our previous battery was great!" .
So here it is, the product I thought I was buying in the first place! A board with 30km range (not my actual 15-18 km range then walk the hills back home).
What I have now is a brand new board (not even 300km) which, in a matter of not even two month has lost all its value. In a matter of days from now, the second hand market is going to be flooded with boards stamped with "the generation of boards that suffered voltage sag". How much can I get for it? a 1/3 of its purchased priced?
Now my two only options are to keep riding a board that doesn't fill its promises or spend more money to get a battery upgrade which, not only is not supported by Evolve and will void my guarantee in case of a problem down the line, but also mean I will have spent pretty much the same amount that if I would have wait to get the new model!
Now I can already hear people saying "stop wining, you did enjoy the sales" or "what do you expect, tech always evolves, and a company can't stop selling their product because of upcoming new one"... While been partly true, what I found really disappointing and the reason I feel duped, is that, despite being in contact many times with the Evolve (UK) team before buying, I was never alerted that a new product was coming out just in a few weeks. Not 6 month, not 3 month, just 6 weeks. Was the upcoming product so "secret" that even the sales team was not aware? all the marketing campaign was prepared over night?
The marketing trickery of the "10 years anniversary", which should have been the announcement of the new boards was consciously done to get rid of stocks. As a customer I should have been offered a fully informed choice : Enjoying a (kind of) good price for a board soon to be old generation or wait just 6 weeks to enjoy the new generation. That is my problem and in my case, for sure, I would have waited. Despite the smiles and "we care about our customer community", like pretty much all brands whith a minimum of ethics do, you could... you should have put all the cards on the table.
Fan boys will probably not understand my rant and start with "We all knew it was coming out"... well guess what, apparently... pretendingly, the guys at Evolve didn't.

That said you still have an awesome board. Just look back at all my other videos over 3 years and see the fun I have had with it. All you have to do is when battery gets low adjust your ride and donât be gunning it everywhere. There are certain other things you can do with regards to riding style to increase your ride etc. I know it must be gutting now but you can still have a lot of fun on your board and many adventures. đđ»

Iâve ridden my evolve board (bamboo gt street) for about three years now and of course I had issues with sag, but donât blame a new product you havenât tried yet. However, I must agree that the last commentary of the video shouldânt have been said.
I normally do 25km with my riding style, which is mostly carving. Of you go hard on the speed and torque (fast Gt modes) of course is going to make you drain your battery!! It is like when a car is supposed to last âxâ miles without refuelling, but it does less, of course it will, it depends on so many factors
I am in the same boat and not happy. I bought a GT Carbon 2 weeks ago! During discussions about battery sag ect nothing was said about a new product coming out. Though I can't blame the individual sales rep/branch as they are under instructions, I can however call out upper management.

Great board all haters are smashed. No sag, no disconnect, bluethooth connection, new designs, new cnc forged trucks, better batteries. Boosted fans can cry with that range and speeds and NO TERRAIN WHEELS!

Everyone talking about sag being gone doesn't understand how batteries work. All Evolve did was use code to not give active feedback on battery status Making it look like there is no sag. Another thing that supports my argument is the lack of the battery status screen on the new r2 remote. They did that so you couldn't look at the voltage drop that their software lies about and call them on their bullshit.
There is no sag in the GTR, you feel no difference in performance even at 3%. Vid coming soon but yesterday at Cyclopark we had a 17st guy smashingly around the grass track with only 9%

How educated is this guy regarding battery pack setupsđ€ he gave us no s statistical facts at all. I have had a. Samsung 50 cell in my board and it doesn't sag and I even bet my board would get more miles than his đ by the way the people engineering those battery packs work for Nasa and are Electrical Engineers and you can't compare people that are that smart to some people working in a factory in China with cheap parts that are being used. Look at the way those battery packs in China are being made and the software they are running is designed for battery sag the degradation of those is way to fast and you just got screwed by Evolve again! As for the rest of educated people we will enjoy are boards with 0 battery sag.
This was specifically aimed at diy batteries used with the stock evolve GT esc and bms. They canât handle it and will blow đđ»
