MB needs to continue being a regular, really impressive that he's (clearly intentionally) getting on CZcams and Podcasts to remind a younger audience that he's a great guy to listen to. Well done lads for holding out your hands.
Re: electric car conversions. If the CT crew read this. Something like a CRV might be interesting as the rear diff only engages sometimes, so could be made independent - ICE FWD, rear EV.
see, I'm exactly the same (im sorry Mike) but I couldn't stand him on wheeler dealers but this podcast and CT, in general, has changed my opinion completely.
The Agony Aunt portion Mike brought up legitimately had me in tears! Keep the great content coming guys! It's been making my Mondays a lot more bearable.
While I understand what you mean. Little bit harsh to imply he isn't in step usually. I get that he shines better in this podcast than some of the previous ones, but I don't want a comment like this to knock him and think usually he's out of touch
Mike is an absolute legend, car throttle podcast gets me through work most days. Unfortunately I’ve now caught up with the upload times so I have to wait a week for a new one but worth it for sure. Good on ya lads 👍
Love your content guys and I love how Mike loves it too. Watching wheeler dealers as a kid I’d have never thought I’d be watching this on CZcams when I grew up. Brilliant
Meant to be writing my dissertation but i would be lying if I said I was even 10% focused on it with this on in the background 😂 legends another cracking podcast!
My first time really listening to these whilst at work, what a brilliant format, Mike needs to be a regular guest. Used to really dislike him on wheeler dealers until I played this video, got great chemistry all together with you lads
One thing in college years and years ago thats a golden rule, we were told once you got a car on stands, rest your hands on the edge of the roof and shake the car pretty aggressively, if you have made the vehicle safe it will not fall off the stands, Better to fall off when your not under it
also it's Norway that's per capita most electric cars, 8 times more then Sweden. 5 million people, 3th highest amount of electric cars in total in the world.
@@jo_magpie Yes. They are selling more than 50% new cars that are electric. Because as all Scandinavian countries they taxed car to absurd -- so gas cars i.e. Golf are more expensive (for 1.4 gas base one) than electric Golf. 2 things about Norway pro electric cars : most of electricity is made off water power plants (clean, over 97% of electricity generated in Norway), some privilages like free parking, free town center pass etc. (since there are more and more electic cars government is thinking about cancelling that HAHA) Now 2 things against : Norway is cold, electric cars do not have good heating when you leave them parked without plugging in, also battery cars don''t like cold weather, more than 24h parking on -20 C or less can damage the battery pack (in Tesla - that's out of warranty). So they are even more short distance cars :)
I really don't want this to come off as a dig at MB, but I find him much more personable on youtube. This was a brilliantly enjoyable video, and his proud papa moment with the Big E's Z3 a couple vids back was a genuinely warm moment. I hope Mike is also a bit more regular, he banters well with the lads
As always great 👍🏼 and finally something about a Mercedes and specially a 190E , and Alex with the 190E design what a great t-shirt👍🏼👍🏼keep the great work guys thank you
Loved this. Helped to get me through my first night shift. Keep up the good work lads 👍 BTW I nearly crushed my hand once using a widow maker scissor jack changing a rear wheel on a Honda Civic (ek4). I put the handbrake on which stupidly doesn’t do anything if you then jack up the rear wheel 🙈 I learnt a very valuable lesson that day!
About 5 years ago, I was helping my dad change the EGR valve on his car, everything was going smoothly.. until we dropped a bolt down into the engine bay.. frantically searching for it on the drive beneath we couldn’t see it, as light was fading, I tried a magnet on a pole, but it didn’t work.. so i said don’t worry “just Jack it up, I’ll slide under the car (a Zafira) and find it” now my Dads drive is on a slight angle, but I grew up working on my car, on that drive so didn’t give it much thought.. I slide underneath and began to feel around, finally grabbing the bolt, which had balanced itself in awkward place on the engine, passing it up back the way it came, my dad leaned on the wing a little, to grab the bolt, unfortunately catching the Jack, just behind the wheel, que the scrapping noise, as the Jack slipped down the drive, the car lowered.. trapping engine (mainly the oil sump) on my chest.. thankfully it still had wheels on, so not crushing me, but it made it very hard to breathe.. My Dad was very quick to grab the Jack, as he lifted the car, his neighbor pulled me out by the ankles.. scrapping my back and my chest along the drive and engine.. but at least I was out.. needless to say.. we won’t be doing it again in a hurry..
Guys you have come to be my new top gear team.. you have fun, highly entertaining and you enjoy cars.. love it long live CT. Also love wheeler dealer.. great combo. I’m in heaven watching this..
On the topic of LED headlights, You should see the GMC/Chevrolet pick up trucks of the last couple years. I work nights so in the winter months almost all of my commute is in the dark. the GM trucks have headlights that are so high it literally blinds you.
I like the argument of having friends you didn't know you have when you get a van, it's the same after leaving school and you start to drive, everyone needs a lift, all of a sudden the popular pricks were your best mates
Funny how many "friends" I've had since I bought an XLWB Iveco back in January! LOL. But its hell of a van! Won't stop me having cars too though. Love my BMW 335D more
The discussion on those LED bars reminded me of Clarkson reviewing the F150 Raptor SVT with it's 'collapsed sun' on the roof, May driving too slow in front of him and, well, you get the idea of how it was used. :)
I have a story to tell! (Maybe put it into your next podcast?) HOW I LOST MY WEEKENDS FOR A WHOLE YEAR when I was a child of around eight my farther had a Citroen c4, it had been a family car at this point for no longer then 1 years due to are last car being driven with no oil for 1 month. My farther called round a mobile mechanic to look at the car because it wouldn’t start one morning. Being a child of 8 who was incredibly curious about mechanics and cars as a overall, I wouldn’t stop pestering the mechanic and following him round the vehicle pretentiously asking the poor fellow every thing he was doing and why. So the mechanic left me in the drivers seat and told me to check everything in here works. (It is clear to me now that he thought all I would do was click random buttons, fiddle and leave him to his work) after pushing the Bonnet down he left to go get a tea in my house. straight away I put the car into gear and drive around 15 meters away from are house, to my amazement I shouted out the window “the car works again!” When all of a sudden I crashed the car into my lovely neighbours brand new Jaguar XF type which had a expensive vinyl rap. it was more of a big bump then a crash, But I spent the whole of that year cleaning my neighbours car every single weekend to pay off it’s damage and lost my Christmas allowance.I was banned from being near the family car and am not aloud to be near it to this day alone! My farther told me if I want to die from natural causes stay away from his car... I ended up walking to school for the next few years for my safety and the family cars. P.S- my current car is a Renault VVT GT 2010 in white opinions?
Absolutly love the podcast, I was having to isolate about a month ago and pretty much binge watched car throttle for 2 weeks and now look forward to my tues/wed commute to listen to the new podcast. only negative is this is the first episode with no mention of a certain Royal Mail truck and Jack.....
Just to add; without being negative about your other guests (I like all of the guests you've had) my favourites are MIke and Gareth and glad they are regulars
