I love how now there’s a zero second speedrun for this.
In case you’re wondering, the speedrun timer only starts at the first key input. A few seeds have been found that generate you in an iceberg, which means you suffocate before the timer even begins.
Well that’s for beating the game, death speed runs start when you load into the world not the first input

To be completely honest, it still should count, settings doesnt allow the player to move, so I would say that if he started the timer right after settings he wouldve won, although moderation wouldnt let it through because he did change the settings... im bad at explaning things-

One time i tried to do a speedrun and immediately walked into lava when I started a world. I wish I didn't delete the video because I might've had the world record random seed death
Nah, 3 sec spawn immunity and lava doesn’t kill you in 0.09 seconds, even pre 1.3 the time it took you to walk in the lava is longer than 0.09 seconds

You can get the record after 1.3 as well. You have to jump off a cliff while you still have immunity and you have to time it so that right after it wears of you die. It needs specific timing but you could manage it.

The world record is 0.00 because there’s a seed where you spawn and suffocate in an iceberg and the timer starts only when you press something
I believe the reason why there was no spawn immunity pre 1.3 is because it *probably* was a multiplayer exclusive feature which may have been used to prevent spawn killing. 1.3 was the update where singleplayer and multiplayer merged, so they ran on the same codebase which let you use multiplayer features (such as chat) in singleplayer, along with the feature of LAN. The only bad thing about this update is the fact that there was a performance impact and the game would sometimes tick weirdly, but these issues have been fixed.
