I am an old man now but I was a professional soldier and I have seen many wars and known many brave soldiers. What I have seen from the Ukrainian Soldiers and the President of Ukraine and his staff and the entire population standing up against the evil Putin. Ukrainians are the bravest soldiers and people I have ever seen and I am sure the freedom loving world would agree with me. History will remember this time of the Ukrainians. It’s crazy that you managed to get some marines through the enemy lines. Mariupol is always in my thoughts at the moment.
Yes it was a surprise but definitely explains how they were able to survive a bit more over the previous week. We’ve heard of such stories before in WWII and we’ve got to hope that more of them can happen in the days to come. Most crucially it feels now like there are enough stockpiles of weapons to take the risk and try flying over the city at night to drop them off. I really don’t understand why the Ukrainian Armed Forces haven’t tried to take the risk now. They did it in early March but since then they have stopped and it doesn’t feel like it is warranted when in war you should be prepared to take such risks.
The civilians cannot leave because the Ukrianian military won't let them leave not because it's cut off by the Russians. Literal NeoNazis propoganda

Mariupal is a modern Stalingrad, 9/10ths taken, written off every week, even the holding out of the large factory.
I know there's propaganda on all sides but these soldiers can't have any hope of surviving but they fight on, their morale is unbelievable.
This IS NO modern day Staligrad. Stalingrad concluded with Zhukov executing a massive counter offensive that saw Soviet spear heads crushing weak Romanian, Hungarian & Italian positions that led to the 6th Army themselves being encircled into a kessel due to the extreme pressure from two sides .. There is no massive Ukrainian spear heads nor any appreciable mechanized elements belonging to Ukraine able to pull that scale of counter offensive off. Not exactly an accurate/ parallel comparison. That Soviet counter offensive also netted ~90k German & Axis soldiers capitulating. In this instance there will be a few more Ukrainian & foreign fighters surrending but more will choose to die. Nay, THIS is more or less a similar type of operation on how the SS dealt with the Warsaw Uprising in Poland sans the bunker busting munitions. The outcome will be inevitabily the same: capitulation & death. Its only a matter of time.

Thank you for your words. We are doing to same here in the UK. We need to keep this up in a matter what, on top of actually getting people who will be willing to actually ship all of the heavy equipment throughout the country rather than just sitting in warehouses in the city of Lviv in the West of Ukraine. Ukraine is slowly getting the equipment out that are not vehicles, but with so many people more busy fighting on the front line ( and those left behind are either children, women who don’t have the skill set or people who are just unqualified) they don’t have enough people to transport everything to where it is needed, and the US just dumped everything into Ukraine and that’s it. The equipment is needed and is arriving, but it’s been described by foreign volunteers in Ukraine as a ‘shit show’ the Americans are performing. They critically need volunteers both ex-military as well as regular people to help transport the equipment to where it is needed. If you can, ‘put the call out’.

They would if they could, unfortunately while the supplies are helping Ukrainian forces a lot they still haven't received enough heavy equipment to break through the dozens of Russian BTGs around Mariupol and the surrounding region. EDIT: I don't want to sound pessimistic though, the recent deliveries of loitering munitions and artillery should be immensely helpful. Hopefully they can break through and relieve the defenders because we all know Russia will never allow a humanitarian corridor.

INCREDIBLE what these soldiers have accomplished and are still going through, they are fighting 10 or 12 ruski batallions which is 10,000 to 12,000 ruski soldiers. I pray that once heavier equipment and troop carriers arrive Ukraine can send in reinforcement to save these soldiers and civilians.
Their accomplishments so far have been mainly the destruction of the city and a few thousand killed civilians.
