  • In this episode my girlfriend and I are fishing with her dad Ray on Caddo Lake, the largest cypress forest in the world, looking for giant bass. Ray has a 10 pound bass hanging on his wall from this lake, and the big girls are bedding down against the millions of cypress trees that cover the lake. We're showing you some strategies for catching bass during the spawn and having a ton of fun while doing it.

      They are actually not bony at all. Thick boneless filets. You have to filet them immediately or they get mushy, but a little flour with that Justin Wilson seasoning mixed in and pan fried they are awesome.

    Gotta get rid of that weed guard on the wacky rig and you will stop missing fish. And in general with water that clear you need to make long cast before the fish can see you.

  • @davidwarren9761

    I wasn't used to launching in current and when I backed up at the Jefferson boat ramp the current almost slammed me into another boat. To avoid hitting the boat next to me I goosed it so I would go back a little faster and miss the other boat. I missed the other boat but my SS prop hit a cypress knot and I bent the prop shaft on my Yamaha HPDI 150. Other than that I had a wonderful day. Is Don Henley still living down there? Liked your video. I sure miss fishing. We all get old way too soon.

    • @johnterrebonne8436
      @johnterrebonne8436 Před 2 lety

      Not actually. I use a circle hook on a wacky rig and rarely miss fish. My buddy uses a worm shank hook and has the same success as me. Looks like he’s just not setting the hook hard enough.

  • @tyleraustin1926
    @tyleraustin1926 Před rokem

    This might sound crazy but when you throw your wacky rig and get bit try to set the hook like you would on a crank bait. just pull into it rather than the quick jerk. you will hook up with way more fish on the wacky that way. I wasn't a believer until I was!
