From Matt and Shane's secret podcast ep 36 and 38
I could've easily gone pro but the lack of real competition often left me bored. I decided it would be way sicker to drop out and get addicted to meth for a few years instead.
I was recruited to a college that lost every single game the 4 years I would have been there. My greatest character flaw is thinking, as a mediocre offense guard, I would have made the difference.
The idea of a diva high school offensive lineman is hilarious
Shane seems like he could have been a legendary PE teacher
Shane is a brave man to discuss these stories
Of all the players to put Shane’s head on, Carl Nassib was the right choice
The snuugie at the bar running into the football teammates is rough. That is Seinfeld level situation.
I have zero regrets about being a diva wide receiver who scored one touchdown in 4 years. D1 scouts were checking out my sick ass visor for sure.
Nice touch putting Shane’s head on the body of Carl Nassib, the only openly gay NFL player.
I could have played D-1 ball if I was 6 inches taller, 45lbs heavier, and ran jump and tackled better
I always felt bad for dedicated ass school athletes in highschool and then I felt bad for mfs going into the military after highschool and this man Shane combine the two and actually made it out alive and not gay
Shane in an alternative universe as a gym coach: "If it wasnt for my bum-knee!"
"Alot of powerful white men don't move their neck" fucking sent me bro holy shit Matt's the man
At least he had the makings of a varsity athlete
shane did 2 pullups top, and he guy says... "thats awsome dude" such a good friend.
childhood traumas wrapped in humor.
The “717” on the eye black when that is every high school’s area code who they play is hilarious 😂
i went from a division 4 starting d end in high school, 6’3” with a 4.5 40. i made it on to a division 1AA team. let me tell you if your not on the juice or 1% genetics you aint starting. it really is a workd apart
I was a 6ft 220 lb 12 year old and completely dominated these kids in CYO football. Coaches were talking me up about playing college ball. By 8th grade I started to run into some other monsters but I was still good. By high school, I was on a team with multiple guys who went on to be Big 10 team captains and were 3x state champs in 4 years. I never grew past my 12 year old size and I played both sides of the line originally. They tried making me a linebacker and I was slow as shit, couldn't catch a ball, got the hell beat out of me on defense and quit freshman year.
I love the fact that Shane could’ve had a respectable college career at a school like West Point but he just couldn’t be fucked 😂
