I tried this today. You need 4 Rock Slingshots fully upgraded along with fully upgraded armor on Infantry. Egg Automatics don't deal enough damage to Futuristic units. Infantry are the best fodder because they build faster than the other units, and can be replaced faster in a pinch.
Even with rock slingshots the fight is still inescapable.
Good play.
I have but one challenge to overcome this game, it's the secret achievement ("????????").

Nope!
Try beating insane mode without using any support (ranged) units. I don't know if this is possible, but... yeah.
I've done this. Simply stay in the Caveman Age while getting fully upgraded Rock Slingshots, and upgrade your Anti-Armor and Melee troops. Then skip directly to Future Age and get God's Wraths and Mad Scientists.
I did this when i was little but i was in Easy mode , i think i got far as in Military Age or Renaissance , then i evolved to Military Age because my defenses were getting weak.

Challenge: you can only evolve when they are 3 ages ahead. (Ex: they are medieval age you can evolve to Spartan age) When they get to future age you can evolve to future too.

Hard is alot easier than insane
Yes I know. I just recently beat it on insane by the skin of my teeth. I did try this out through, now I love to get 4 egg towers then beat the game with them
Do you have to let them reach Future Age before pushing? Hard is winnable by Medieval Age.
I purposely play extremely defensive until I can get 4 egg throwers, then I mass age to usually the age under the ai. So I have basic age towers. Egg clickers are very underrated
