WARNING: NEVER EVER go under a car even for a quick look if you're just using a trolley jack. Matt had an axle stand but it was in the middle of the car. I've seen a professional garage jack just give way without warning. As extra safety place blocks of wood under the tyres (or shove a wheel underneath. You can also use the car side jack as well. Stay safe!
Ha yeah. Iâm not mechanical at all but that seemed nuts that he didnât have any safety blocks.
Indeed. It's no surprise though. The whole ethos of what this guy is doing is on the fringes of what is ethical and can only contribute towards other people taking great risks by encouraging them to put vehicles back on the road that should be scrapped and taken out of the loop completely.
Oh my days, I couldn't believe he did that đ đ
At 6:11 I see a red mechanical car stand, so I don't think he is that stupid.
â@@mariemccann5895 go away troll.
Matt is very careful to do repairs properly.
Many times he's stated he could bodge, save money etc but that's not the way to do things, especially on high end stuff.
That to me is a big part of the appeal of him and his channel - the jobs are done properly so the car will run and drive safely
You know what Matt? It's not just the content you have, but it's your character that people like. Keep up the go0d work ~
I struggle alot with my mental health , but I so look forward to your videos Mat they bring a bit of sunshine to a dark day, well done again your smashing it as usual mate .
Thanks so much mate! Hope youâre good!

Itâs hard when itâs starts feel like your surviving day to day. You got this mate đ„
Just when you think this guy canât take on any more projects he comes through with more goods đȘđŒđȘđŒ incredible
He could get the car inside the shop super easy on 4 dollie-jacks all by himself no need for electric power..
But it seems like overly complications are longer and the struggle apparently is more fun to watch..
And even harder
@@poplaurentiu4148 if you check where my unit door is theres like a mini kerb and my dollies wont ride up them

@@MatArmstrongbmx Looking at rebuilding cars for myself any thought why some cars sit at auction with tiny bits of bumper damage and have been written off?
"It's had a front-end knock"... understatement of the year đđđ The display with "bonnet open" had me in stitches!!! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Never seen anyone so determined and so undeterred by the seemingly impossible. This was something addictively impressive. You have a rare, self-taught talent. Best of luck with this project!
No one can be self taught in car restoration. Guarantee he's not qualified to do these sorts of repairs.
You had the right idea bridging fuse, but it needed to be a better connection, like a bolted earth strap or something. The cranking current will be causing a big voltage drop across your jump lead.
Exactly!
This!
100% correct
I think it's the way you produce these videos and your constant excitement about the cars makes your channel fantastic. It's amazing how I'm on the edge of my seat while you explain what's going on with the car. 90 percent of the other car channels are so boring after 5 minutes but I can't get enough of your videos. Keep smashing it! (or should I say, other people keep smashing it, so Mat has something to fix)
Haha thanks so much đ I guess I just love what I do đ€·ââïž

I am amazed how you look at an car and somehow it doesn't scare you knowing how much damage a car has, you just jump in and work. More power to you.
And how he puts loads of content in one video instead of chopping into tiny more videos or dragging things for views. He's the best.
I've just watched the vids about the M5 rebuild and wanted to say how enjoyable they were, really entertaining and enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

@@MatArmstrongbmx where's the gt86 and e24? Not seen them in months!
@@Jsnwrd gt86 is outside my unit. I use it as my drift car but had no reason to film on it atm. The e24 build will carry on once the Murcie has an engine in. Thereâs no rush on that build as it has to be in the ramp a long time to do the rust
Yay! The good old half split technique! Another old git here who learnt that as an M&E apprentice back in 1990. This channel is awesome for any of us practical have a go heroes, Iâm desperate to get my hands on a wrecked car but Iâm lacking a garage đą Recently did a ton of repairs on my sons first car learning from CZcams (same way I learnt to plaster when I did up our house) Thatâs how I stumbled across this channel, itâs amazing. You're a brave man Matt. Tackling a modern BMW M5 with that amount of front end damage is never gonna be straightforward.
I can't imagine fixing even one dent.
well, at least he gets his money back with this video.
Not to mention crawling under it held up by only a floor jack.

Dude, never get under a car thatâs only held by a trolley jack. Safety 101. Funeral 102.
Well done Mat, you have one of the actual most quality channels with these rebuilds. So many channels have misinformation and don't take due care with their repairs.

Passion for what you desire...priceless. Can't wait to see how this project works out. Well done!
Unbelievably valuable lessons to be learned from your mindset here, not even kidding!
-I looked at that car thinking "yeah that's totaled, no chance in hell this is going fixed, professionals in a shop would just laugh at anyone bringing that in and fixing it would exceed the cost of a new one, so sad, was a beautiful car"
-Meanwhile this guy: "Ye I can fix her in my garage with about 10k lol"
With a mindset like that you are destined to achieve incredible things. You're doing the impossible while others just doubt. Take notes, everyone!
Bro was up just bumped into this video and i got to stay i felt how you started up and grow you motivated me because me has just turning 20 a month now and not working love this video had to subscribe â€

Awesome car, canât wait to see the build on this one, the engine on that comes out complete with the transmission, subframe, struts etc on a huge platform, looking forward to seeing the progress on it.
Aside from loving your videos I just came here to tell you how to get any car in the garage without putting it in neutral. They sell individual wheel dollies. Thereâs pretty many different types some donât even require being jacked up if you do a search but the basic idea is 4 little castor wheels under each tire and pull/push the car inside the heater garage. Happy building brother!

I'm hooked on these videos man I can't believe you have the patience to actually fix these cars I'd go postal and set it on fire within the first 2 hrs
another AMAZING video Mat - can't wait to see this unfold. In terms of moving the car around if the gearbox is locked - get a set of wheel dollies - they make this a breeze! Also - please use axle stands as well as a jack! Don't want any accidents!!
Amazing channel Matt. Some of these rebuilds I feel like driving up to help you out. Admire your skills and knowledge. Keep going.

great challenging project. Nice challenge. The two thoughts I had: if you remove the oilcoolers I suppose you need less oil. (unless the gauge has the same volume as the original two oil coolers). Second: I guess it is safer to use a fuse if some kind of fuse has blown up....
I think the fuse blown up due to airbag deployment, so to avoid the user to start the car and create more damages.
Darn good point about the quantity of oil that he didn't seem to have addressed
