Exactly. CZcamsrs begging for likes and subscribers makes me want to dislike and leave immediately. It's not necessary to ask for likes. If people liked your video they will give you a like.
For some reason food keeps going missing in my pantry & this guy keeps making videos on it. I haven't finished drinking my 50 year old soda, and I'm pissed.
I was just going to mention that. I wonder if the same thing would happen if you compare the current Mountain Dew vs the "throwback" real sugar formula. Or the current Coke vs the real sugar formula.
Reheat pan to clean out the Carmel substance while hot use a soapy dish cloth. Good luck with that mess. Makes me want to try it now only problem is my wife would probably call the men in white lab coats and a van. Especially if I left it in the sink for someone else to clean.
That's a great idea actually boil down sodas and put the syrup in a candy mold and make soda hard candies you suck on definitely gonna try that and as always great video 👍
Hmm you know, you should try doing this again and then getting one of those soda streams and seeing if you can turn boiled soda back into normal soda again for real.
I love watching these experiments! Would have been interesting to see a test on old soda with those strips that show different levels of metals and minerals, to see if there's a lot of difference compared to a new bottle.
It is cheap to make rock candy from boiling a cup of sugar and water, and add various flavorings. I often wondered how high fructose corn syrup would behave if one tried to make rock candy with it. Now I know. I enjoy all of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing. Great experiment, and commentator!
I want to try some so bad. Lemon lime caramel, yum. I'm thinking about just boiling down part of a little 12 oz. can so it won't be so much drama to clean up.
@@Xx_lost_or_unheard_trackz_xX Yup! I remember taking a bottle carrier with 6 returnable bottles to the local Dairy Mart and getting 60 cents worth of candy with them!
@@Xx_lost_or_unheard_trackz_xX Yes! Back in 1978, 60 cents would by me a 16 oz. bottle of 7up, a Reese's cup and a pack of Wrigley chewing gum. If I had a little more change, I would buy a pack of Camels...and I was only about 9 years old then!
I have a Lemon Lime Yankee Candle that probably smells like this (I don't know if they still make it. I bought it in 2012..). I love to drink Diet Sprite with everything which also has the lemon lime flavor.
Ok, well, in some sense, I was sorta surprised that both sodas had similar results... But as I thought about it... I can to realize, both sodas are made up of almost the same chemical make up... Difference being is modern soda is made up of high fructose corn syrup, whereas the old soda was made up of pure cane sugar... However, both substances have the same ingredients, fructose, sucralose, and so on... This is why both sodas boiled off similarly... Though the older soda more burned than the modern soda... Sugar burns whereas corn syrup caramelizes more... So in the end, the end result didn't really surprise me...
The original 7-Up was the bomb - totally unique taste, unmistakable. They ruined it when they changed the formula and slapped that lime on the label. Now it's just a Sprite clone. Yecch! Bring back the original!

It's sad but people only do that because of the horrible algorithm.
Do you girls like food experiments, nice :Dd
Nicole Cardinale EXACTLY!! Agreed 💯 !! This guy rocks!
I cringed everytime I heard that spoon scrap against the non stick pan... RIP pan
@@TheBigMclargehuge yes quite often
Can’t tell if this was made at 4am or 4pm and it’s making this video even better than it already is

“I’m boiling 7Up and tasting it for CZcams”

Cleaning those pans is what nightmares are made from.
you'd only need to heat the pans up then fill them with boiling water i reckon, although you would probably still face some difficulty
I heard a lemon or oranges and let it set for an hour could make it easier...
Soak them in warm water for 30 minutes then hit em with an abrasive sponge
I have that same Gotham pan. It worked great for a while. But things stick to it after a while and it starts to stick.
@@jraoul711 Yep same here.
Interesting blend of vintage products and scientific experimentation. Nicely executed.
You're now a candy-maker! You've cooked to the hard-crack stage I think.
Breaking Bad the lost episode.
Old 7 Up used Real Sugar...new stuff is High fructose corn sweetner
I was just going to mention that. I wonder if the same thing would happen if you compare the current Mountain Dew vs the "throwback" real sugar formula. Or the current Coke vs the real sugar formula.
7up consists of 100% sugar that's why it caramelized..you can make your homemade candy from 7up soda..lol haha
When you boiled it down it basically just became candy.
What an awesome and interesting experiment! And this is just another reason why I am so addicted to ur videos❤❤thank u and keep em coming!!
This is just so awesome. I love your descriptions of this stuff; taste, smell, consistency, etc. maybe this would taste good with French toast!

Someone get this guy a spoon rest!

What if you put a mentos on a 40-50 year-old soda?🤔
Hana-chan PH It probably won't work, because CO2 from this soda came out within these 50 years.
1970's real sugar. Today high fructose corn syrup.
Early 1970s anyways. Mid 70s on high fructose corn syrup, due to the so called sugar shortage.
What a great experiment! Made me feel like I was back in science class. Thanks for sharing with us!
So much great content lately. Thanks
Your fascination with old food stuff always fascinates me
Hmm you know, you should try doing this again and then getting one of those soda streams and seeing if you can turn boiled soda back into normal soda again for real.
You could pour the syrup into an ice cube tray and then once it's cooled down you'll have a bunch of boiled sweets/hard candies.
Ahh yes, a true scientist
Great video new England wildlife and more, love how you just go ahead and try stuff, love it👌😀
Your channels are very enjoyable and have subbed to both of them !

Holy shit it was still fizzy - that's crazy

The 70's soda has a little sugar than the new ones.
Awesome
You should get a PO Box I’m sure people would be interested to send you things. Love the videos always interesting
I used 7 up as a high temp grill cleaner on my bbq.
7up was really good in the 60s it had a special taste even when it was flat.

It looks like you found a quick method to produce lemon 🍋 lime candy 🍭
So after boiling down soda, the consistency is like candy apple mix, the kind you make around Halloween .
It looks like when you go to Corning when they blow glass those strands.
High fructose corn syrup vs cane sugar
I think the clean up will be a breeze. Once the sugar / sweetner melts in the hot water .

Thats for water :p
7 up DABS lol

Have you or any of your older relatives never made hard candy with Karo syrup?
You sound as though you are the only one to have discovered this! LOL!

U may need a Phillip's Sonic to get that off your teeth...😉
It would be awesome if you make hard candies in the future! Science rules how it chemically changes.
You could probably fashion yourself a prison shank outta that stuff...💯✔
Lol the brown stuff is sugar
So you subtract water from soda and what you have left are the same ingredients to make candy so you converted soda to candy.
The original 7-Up was the bomb - totally unique taste, unmistakable. They ruined it when they changed the formula and slapped that lime on the label. Now it's just a Sprite clone. Yecch! Bring back the original!
