Is the Tronsmart T6 Plus Upgraded Edition any match for the pound for pound world champion the Anker Soundcore Motion Plus Bluetooth speaker? The headlines say the Tronsmart T6 is 40 watts but that is peak/max so dont expect world beating volume levels. I am throwing in the Anker Soundcore Flare 2 for comparison purposes. Full testing at all volumes including bass test and frequency response measurements. Best Bluetooth speaker?

Another win for the Soundcore plus, so glad I got two of those on your recommendation. On a side note I'm super impressed with the Flare's clarity, it's not a million miles away from the Motion+. Bit too high but still not bad really. T-smart sounds ruddy awful at any volume in my opinion, it sounds like it's been stuffed into a pillow case.
yeah the flare 2 is more laid back and not in yer face like motion plus. i enjoy it but the bass can get really out of shape but it doesnt do it on all tacks, its kinda weird, sounds like its distorting but it isnt, its just really loose and wooly.

Another great review Alan, thank you! Please keep an eye out for the upcoming Tribit Stormbox Pro - another 360 speaker. From what I heard, its coming out in November. Once it does, please compare it to the other 360 speakers that you have (Flare 2, T6 + Upgraded, Uboom, and Stormbox). Pretty please as that would be awesome!

i guess this is why they added the rotary volume control, like ok you can go louder but dont blame us for the distortion.

I have the cheaper T6 Mini - single speaker, not as bassy, but more balanced - but for £20 its great, so I was expecting way more from the T6 Plus. It be interesting to see your take on other speakers from Tronsmart.

Wow man, you make the BEST review/comparison videos, thanks. I don't care if people say you cannot hear sound differences over CZcams, I don't agree and find your sound comparison videos to be of immense value.
I have the Soundcore Motion plus and was thinking about getting the Tronsmart upgraded, but now I know it would be a mistake. The Flare 2 doesn't cut it for me either.
I would like to ask you if there is an upright oriented speaker(it's sad that I don't have space on my cluttered desk for a horizontal speaker) that you would recommend as being as good or better than the Soundcore Motion Plus?
I'm actually looking to use it as a computer speaker, and I have looked at traditional PC speakers, but I actually want just a mono speaker, not stereo, and of course Bluetooth speakers have added benefits as well, namely portability.
I'm much more concerned with clarity and midrange than thumping bass, I don't think my mom would appreciate it very much, and it is for her.
Anyway, I'd appreciate anything you have to say; thanks.
Have you considered the minirig? Tribit are said to becoming out with a 40 watt stormbox soon.

Just today I actually learned more about Tribit, I've been doing research and watching videos for too many hours now, but yeah, what I heard in a review of their Stormbox 24 watt speaker sounded pretty good.
But then I found Zamkol, and Soundpeats, and just a while ago, Tronsmart, and cannot decide which ONE to get.
The Minirig looks really interesting though, utilitarian and no-nonsense, just the way I like it. And if it's made in the UK, it must be good, I just think it may be a bit more than I wanted to spend.
Anyway, thanks for the reply, and please keep up the work you're doing, it's great and very helpful for I presume many people, more than you might think.

Try using an EQ on the Tronsmart! There's plenty 3rd party apps that'll help do it. It would only make it fair because both Anker speakers are using an EQ. I honestly don't think it'll make it better than the Anker, but I'm interested to see how much of a change could be made
I only use an eq when it can be embedded in firmware.
To be honest tronsmart is a junk ... 😂😂
I love having a phone with Dolby Atmos sound meaning I can equalize any speaker to my liking. What I speak of acts like a DSP.

I stumbled across you reviews and must that I am impressed with your attention to detail - thank you . I am based on Australia and am looking for a small/portable powerful speaker with a line in input like the Soundcore motionplus. I want to use this as a (Power) amplifier for low volume small casual live vocal and acoustic guitar gigs. I already have an older JBL 2+ which sounds ok at low volume, just enough to bring up the volume. Anyway, the SoundCore Motionplus in Australia is over $175 (overpriced) so I had to settle for the Tron Smart t6+ which was half the price here. I was wondering you could comment on if the SoundCore Motionplus was noticeably louder and punchier compare to the Tron Smart 6+ as I might be tempered to get the SoundCore speaker anyway.

my tronsmart was awful, maybe the worst speaker i ever had. so yes the m+ has way more punch and impact as the t6 for me was all bass.

My tronsmart T6 arrived this morning, I gave it a test via the line in input and it was not great, infact it was crap. My old JBL charge 2+ sounded much better at the higher volumes. So, I have just returned the T6 back to amazon and will hack the expense and purchase the SoundCore m+.
I assume the m+ is still the best speaker for its size ?

I think that you should also show the Anker in default mode eq on one but not the others sounds like you already have a favorite ?
everyone knows the anker is my goto but i like several other speakers.
Tronsmart T7 is much better. It supports custom EQ so, no more muddy sounds. Also, stereo sounds works perfectly with the two mid-high rage speakers.

I have a t6 plus upgraded edition and I can confirm the distortion @85% volume and also confirm Tronsmart lies about the watts, t6 plus it's about 20 watts not 40.
its not a case of lying but a case of not telling you what and how that is a measurement of. they know most people have no idea of the different ways power can be measured so just normally stick a peak measurement out which is meaningless.
perhaps some tweeters would help the high end on the tronsmart
some who has ears doing the tuning for the t6 would also help! 😊

Alan how are you getting 7 hrs playback for motion plus at max volume ?? I set my EQ to your custom EQ and lasts maximum upto 3 hrs or less . I got a playback time of 8.5 hrs at 63% volume. It's quite astonishing I also have a megaboom 3 which gives me a playback time of more than 9 hrs at 63% volume it has a battery capacity of 3400 mah compared to motion plus 6700 mah . So these specs are just a gimmick?? or is it something wrong with my motion plus speaker??
I checked mine a second time, i got 6hrs 45 mins first time, second time 7hrs. I wonder if there are different versions. I see teardowns where the battery shows 7.4volts but mine must be running 3.7 volts to get these run times. At 7.4 volts it would be nearer 3 hrs.

Have you ever tested a speaker with a perfectly flat frequency response? Is that even possible?!
its possible! but flat is taken as within +-3dB so a 6dB range. also it depends on the smoothing used.

The T6 plus upgraded has the same power on/off and volume tones to the T2359. My xb30 sounds better than the t6von max with distortion
Try the t2359. Not the best but for starters looking for a bass speaker yet as cheap as $6...

The motion plus sounds much better to my old ears since we tend to lose the upper tones acuity as we age. I appreciate the separation.

Now, After I got replacement form tronsmart, the issue is fixed.
The volume control of Tronsmart is NOT synced with your device. And that disqualifies this speaker since that is NOT acceptable in 2020. SO many other alternatives out there. And the sound is awful in the default mode. Covered, closed, dark. I wouldn´t even buy it at half the price.
its intentionally not synced, well not the rotary control but otherwise it is. i see no logic to it though. yup i couldnt believe what i was hearing 🤓
Tronsmart is performing quite poorly. It also has very little time in terms of battery life.
