• Making 2 Miniature Uph...
What a dream come true! I was inspired to start my CZcams channel after watching Bentley House Minis videos. I am so over the moon about this collaboration and the two signed chairs Ara made for me.
For this collaboration, Ara made things for my project: the Gryffindor Common Room in 1:12 scale. I made minis for Ara's 1:24 scale Fairfield dollhouse. Watch me make 20 half scale dollhouse miniatures using simple methods and everyday materials. These items would work well in 1:16 or 1:24 as well to fit your Lundby, Scandinavian Families, & R Bliss dollhouses. You could make any of these minis in 1:16 or 1:12 scale instead.
The crocheted blanket was made by TiffSniffer on Etsy

1/2 scale retro table dimensions:
top: 1.25 in x .75 in
smaller top: .75 in x .5 in
The legs are .5 in long. The rails that hold the smaller top are 3/8 in long.
Double the dimensions to make a 1:12 scale version.
I'm modifying Ara's 1:12 scale fireplace room box to use as the Gryffindor Common Room

This was so amazing to see how you made all of the pieces! There were so many that I would have never guessed how you made them. You are the Accessory Queen my friend! I love every single piece and had such a blast putting them into my project😊 I am so glad you liked the chairs I made for you and I can't wait to see your upcoming project with them!! Thank you for doing this collab with me❤
Thank you so much! Watching you make that first chair in particular makes me very grateful a miniature furniture expert tackled it for me! I am so enamored with accessories, I havent made much furniture yet. The chairs are perfection. I'm so excited to start the Gryffindor Common Room! Watching your video makes me feel a lot more confident about creating the other upholstered pieces in the room.
I watch all Bentley House videos and became completely hooked, and after watching the beautiful chairs being made, I came to your channel.
I would absolutely love to make a mini room, but to be honest I don't have time with all the channels I watch 🙃 thank you both 😊
Bentley house videos
@@alexandrastevens8892 I make a lot of minis while watching my fave CZcamsrs 😉
The crocheted afghan blanket in the thumbnail was made by TiffSniffer on Etsy. She made it specifically for the Fairfield in 1970s colors. She was fantastic to work with and very responsive. The cost of the blanket including shipping from Canada was only $15! Definitely check her out for any crochet mini needs.
Hi Ara sent me. Your minis are so great. I love the little afghan it is so beautiful. It amazes me that someone can crochet that in small. Just beautiful.
I love that little quilt. The side tables you made look exactly like a full sized pair my mom-in-law had! You did a fantastic job and they’re going to look awesome in Ara Bentley’s Fairfield. I can’t wait to see your Gryffindor common room ❤
@@zinthiakee6472 That table design was everywhere. I'm guessing most of us have had one of these tables in our household at least at some point.
Thank you so much! I cannot wait
You Ladies Blow My Mind. Your talents are Astounding. I would love to sit on one of the chairs and visit with Harry, while I cover up with a hand made quilt. I Love You Both.
The problem with the floor lamp is that the beads are too big compared to the lampshade. You can create a larger shade, but that might be too big for your room, or if you like the shade, you might want to make a new base using smaller beads or something else.
My favorite part was where you said you used a mysterious piece of plastic you found on the sidewalk! 😂 I'm always looking at scrap packaging or whatever to be used for a mini!
I end up using the bits I keep, so it just encourages me to hoard more trash 😆
The lava lamp is INSANE. Crazy-great. Amazing.
Thanks so much! This was so much fun
Really appreciate you including your mistakes which is just as helpful for a newbie and definitely helps with my decision paralysis
Glad it was helpful! Little Gretchen's Workshop helped me overcome miniature perfectionism. I hid my mistakes early in my channel, then snapped out of it. I also learned to relax when making minis
❤L❤O❤V❤E❤ the lava light!!!! I still have mine from the late 70's!! Mine had a bluish water and greenish "lava".
That's absolutely amazing! I'm so glad my first idea for how to make the lava lamp turned out well.
All the lamps need is cords, the floor lamp looks great and very original. Growing up in the 60's & 70's I remember things like this in the house. You have a great day
Thanks for the feedback!
I love your creativity in making miniatures. You and Ara are by far my favorite mini creators!
Wow, thank you! It's still surreal to me to be part of this miniature community. I am beyond grateful.
Between you and RichMiniatures channel I stay entertained and get to watch some really wonderful art work ❤😂
Thank you so much 😀 Binge watching miniature making is the best.
Lovely stuff!
I think what is troubling you about the floor lamp is that the base is thick in proportion to the shade. You could either make a wider shade, and/or separate the shade from the base with a thinner piece between the base and where the bulb would be inside the shade. (Hope that makes sense!)
I think you're right. The beads on the base are quite big compared to the diameter of the shade.
I was thinking the same thing that the shade needed to be a bit bigger. I loved the beads and shade color. Love all the rest of your creative creations!
Lamp bases in the 70's could be quite oversized.
Love your work. I was thinking Lamp shades then had fringe on the lampshade bottoms but, what do I know, I'm 57 LOL. Just a thought and memory of mine. Will check out more of your videos for sure! Keep up the beautiful work!
@@queencityminis Having been a teen in the 1970’s, I think what’s wrong with it is indeed the proportions. The beads were perfect for the smaller lamp on the side table, but a bit thick for the floor lamp. I agree with this who say to make the shade bigger. The shade could also be much wider at the bottom. My sense of the floor lamp is that it might look more realistic with a wooden base, rather than the bead one. Something like a turned wood spindle/dowel would look great, especially with the fancy shade you made. I would make the very bottom base a bit larger as well, to help with the stability both here as the model, and also to look more realistic.
My dad has one in his apartment that we’ve had ever since I can remember (I was born in 1962), and it is wooden with an off-white pleated shade. It also has an unusual but seriously useful round table top about half way up the center pole. The table is about the size of your existing lampshade, and should either meet or exceed the size of your base disk. It’s just big enough to create a place for setting your drink and a book. :)
The beads would be about the right size and shape to do one of those multi-armed, multi-shade lamps as well (or instead). Three individual shades on three wire stalks that came together to form the center pole would be good. Those were popular in the 60’s, but also the 70’s. Some had as many as 5 lamps, but 3 was more common.
Loved your bean bag chairs! I liked the shiny “pleather” look best. :)
Wow! These are BRILLIANT! You've created such beautiful pieces out of items most people would never imagine using! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work! 💥❤🙏
You are so welcome! I had a blast.
... plastic I found on the sidewalk ❤ Story of my life. Love it.
Just yesterday I was staring at a piece of trash that was covered in dirt on the side of the road. I really wanted it, but decided it was a bit too dirty. I had to draw the line 😆
@@queencityminis, right! That darn line 😆
Ara was the first miniature artist I discovered when I reentered the mini world. You are the most recent artist I’ve clung to for inspiration. For some reason that makes me very happy you collaborated with each other.
Thank you! It makes me happy too 😊
You are awesome.😊 The attention to details is amazing. But you can see beautiful objects in trash (that you transform in your imagination) items that we all disregard in our minds.
Thank you for sharing your talents and ideas for making beauty from junk 💖
Thank you so much 😀 It's such a pleasure for me.
I love everything you made for Ara. The lava lamp is so fun and I love the sun mirror. Great stuff❤
Thanks so much! 😊 I think the tables are my favorite since I haven't made much furniture and they came out exactly as I hoped they would.
I always wanted a mini house. But wasn't sure how to decorate. Store bought so expensive. I just love how you make things. Inspires me. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I hope you make some minis.
Oh, It would be awesome to have an old rotary dial phone in your 1970's home. I could think of so much more. I was raised in the 1970's and loved every minute!❤
That would be cool! I love retro things like that.
The lamp looks "off" because the shade hits at the widest part of the bead. Your brain assumes the bulb would be at the top where it narrows, which puts the shade too low. A small spacer bead above the orange beads to move the bottom of the shade to a narrow part would fix it.
Love all of these, especially the tables. 1/2 scale is my favourite. Great inspiration!
Oh yeah! I think you're right. That makes a lot of sense.
Everything came out great. As someone who's whole childhood was in the 70s, these pieces would fit in my childhood home. You need to put a rotary dial princess phone with a very long cord in that room
😆 I had one of those growing up in the 90s.
@@queencityminis I've always wanted one with my own line. The 70s and 80s version of a cell phone. Well, a personal line I didn't have to share with anyone.
I really thought I was creative about making things for dollhouses because I made two for my granddaughter but boy you really showed me up your creativity is amazing
Thank you so much!
your deadpan matter of fact way of speaking is so calming to me. although i adore miniatures i don’t collect them or make the diys, but i love your videos!
Thank you so much! Most of my viewers watch for entertainment and relaxation, but don't make minis. You're in good company!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS, 16:38, I was telling myself, she needs a lava lamp in this biotch!!!! And you did VERY good. THANK YOU THANK YOU. I loved my lava lamp growing up. My husband had a billion of them growing up too (maybe not a billion, about 10 tho). I love your videos. Thank you so much :)
I want to get into youtube video making, but I have such a filthy mouth, I don't think people would respect me enough to watch. I would never censor myself, that I see so much of these days.
Sorry for going off topic there. Again, thank you so much for your inspiring video!
That's awesome! I read your mind.
I say go for it! Give it a shot. I love having a channel.
These turned out so amazing. Really looking forward to seeing your Gryffindor common room project as well
Coming soon! Thank you
You and Ara are two of my go-to’s for building miniatures. I just adore you both! I’m always thrilled when you both come out with new videos! ❤
Thank you! I can relate. I love when my fave miniaturists drop a new video.
Hoo Boy! Two of my favourite miniature craft persons collaborating.Only getting to LIVE in Queen Mary's Dolls' House could be better............nay, THIS is better. You both amaze (and amuse) me with your talents. My talents are SO limited that I am going to leave the same comment on both channels................by the way, I am blessed to have found each of your channels just as you were getting noticed/started - the down side of which is that I have seen all of your videos and have nothing to binge watch.
1970s floor lamps often had thinner stem. I would use 3 beads and thinner spacers between them putting spacer next to lampshade. I don't think it needed pull switch. It looked good with that pink button even before you painted it :) Lampshade you made is simply brilliant ♥ I think you felt there's something wrong because lamp stem is too think for lampshade and if you made lampshade bigger it would probably be off scale at this point. I absolutely loved table lamp that you made ♥ Mysterious plastic circle from sidewalk is either a plastic grommet or plumbing part from water tap. I found similar ones in water taps that I took apart some years ago. Might be part of a toy too.
Absolutely spot on!
It could be part of a faucet for sure. I found it in front of a house with a dumpster full of stuff from a remodel nearby.
The most interesting, fascinating incredible talent. The best to watch on utube. Thank u.
Wow, thank you! I love that!
You can the Queen of awesome minis. So glad Ara sent me to your channel. Your work is awesome. The lamp with the beautiful beads is so nice. You are so creative. Ara's chairs are awesome. She's awesome to. 🦋
Thank you so much! Welcome 🤗
These were wonderful. I watch your channel because your mini's are amazing. You are one of my favorite channels for entertaining. Thank you so much for your video's
Thanks so much 😊
I am one of the ones that has not heard of Bentley house mini's however I will check that out. I am addicted to making miniature doll houses through kits I've never made one from my own. I did make a large hobby house that is for stories from a kit that was wooden and it is absolutely beautiful it is all Victorian
Definitely check her out. I love BHM.
That sounds beautiful! Victorian is such a classic miniature scale style.
These items are So GREAT! THIS IS WONDERFUL! I LOVED EVERYTHING 💖JUST EXCELLENT!!!
Thank you so much, Little Gretchen!
Love Bentley mines. ❤️ She is very talented as you are. Please make your channel. Fascinating.
Thank you so much!
‘I’m using this mysterious plastic circle I found on the sidewalk’. I thought I was the only one recycling things like these. 😅
I walk around looking at the ground trying to find trash to scavenge from the sidewalk and street. I have an entire collection of items I've rescued from the gutters. I often wear leggings, so I don't even have pockets. So I end up carrying these pieces of trash around in my hand until I get home.
So long as it can be scrubbed off, I absolutely do this too
You have so much patience! I've done a miniature in a walnut, but never this many decor! Love watching your videos. They are very relaxing. ❤
I had to stop myself from making more bc I needed to edit the video. This was so much fun.
Love both collab accessories, have a great weekend.
Thanks so much!
You are truly an inspiration and your eye for detail 🤌🏽🤌🏽❤️
Thank you so much!!
Oh what steady hands you have! Gorgeous work you’ve made 🤩
I edit it out whenever my hands aren't steady 😉
Thank you for the memories and the awesome creative work you do.
Thanks for watching!
I love this! You just came up on my CZcams feed. I was mesmerized!
I grew up in the '70's. Your colors are spot on.
Funny how your video took me back to a time and place i hadn't thought about in decades.
Great work! Well done you!
So cool! The two tiered table made me nostalgic. I grew up with tables like that.
So glad I found your Chanel. It was 30 minutes of amazement! Such inspiration! You have inspired me to have a go at my childhood dream of making miniatures, especially dolls house bits, thank you -Louise and Emily ❤

I think these mini mugs are a great beginner project. They're fun and easy to do with stuff you already have. You can paint them with nail polish. You can also start with paper straws, if you have them.
This is my favorite project of yours ever!!!
Awww, thank you!
I came across your Chanel about 6 months ago and loved the details you put into your work,it’s funny really this has been the 5th time I have found a new CZcamsr in miniatures that I have started following just before they and Ara do a collaborative video each🤔🤔🤔
It’s not surprising as how many I have watched who watch either of Bentley House and/or Julie Warren’s they are both very talented women when it comes to miniature work and are both great at walking through the steps of how they make their items step by step.
I loved seeing normal every day items used and how they completely transform into something amazing.❤️
Five times! At this point, that doesn't seem like a coincidence. I'll thank you for this collaboration with Ara :)
What a great video. I loved everything. My tip for making fringe is to find the color you want in fine woven fabric. Cut one end straight across the weave. Then unravel to the width of fringe you want. Put glue across the top and cut when dry. It ends up being a long piece and curves perfectly around circles or on straight edges for rugs, towels, etc.
That's so clever! Thank you for the tip.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE ALL THINGS '70's!!!!! 🎉 The side tables sent me back..... wwwaaaaaaaaaayy back! LOL 😂 the bean bag chair, OMG!!! The lava lamp is over the top and the BEST one DIY I've ever seen! Everything is just perfectly vintage and fits into the Fairfield like it's been there forever! The tall floor lamp you feel is "off" just needs some easy adjustment. If you're committed to the stand the shade will need to be made a bit longer and a bit wider. If your committed to the shade the stand circumference will need to be reduced quite a bit, almost a pole only or beads that are slim with a hole big enough to fit on the pole. The lampshade could really be used as a bedside table lamp or desk lamp. 😊
Thank you so much! I grew up with those side tables as well.
You're absolutely right about the floor lamp. I always look forward to your comments!
@@queencityminis what really shocks me is the value increase these common tables have experienced! I remember my mom telling me those tables were like $7.99 or some crazy cheap price like that! And now the vintage craze is in full swing, and I personally am loving it! If I had unlimited resources, I would definitely have a time capsule home.
so happy to have found this video as i'm currently working on a 60s/70s styled diorama! the lava lamp method is genius, i can't wait to try it out myself
That's great! That sounds like a lot of fun.
Removing the cat hair off stuff is so accurate my kitty loves to 'help' me out
I find cat hair in my food constantly as well. Worth it 😺
Loved when you said, "and removed the cat hair." 😂 I have 2 cats and know the struggle when making miniatures ❤😅
I also have two cats with plans to get a third cat! The struggle is real.
Me gustan mucho las miniaturas, las casitas de mulecas y los mknimundos creados en cajitas, y amo tus videos, gracias por mostrarnos cómo lo haces tú, saludos y bendiciones
You're welcome 🤗 My pleasure
I absolutely love all the little miniatures you made! I learned so much from you. I can't wait to see more of your Gryffindor Common Room! Thank you for all the inspiration and a little field trip to the 70s when I was a kid. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Thank you so much! I cannot wait to start the Gryffindor Common Room.
When you were making the orange chair, I thought it was going to be a 'space hopper' you know the ones you bounced on. with ear handles & a face😅 Yes! you are the accessories queen😊
😆 That's hilarious! Thank you
So excited to start my Fairfield! Love the skeleton family house!!
Have fun! Bentley House Minis has so many helpful videos for building the Fairfield.
So fun to watch this video! How cool that you did a colab with Ara. You are both some of my favorites. I think the lamp shade need to be bigger on the lamp… or use smaller beads. It is out of proportion, in my humble opinion.
Thank you! It was so much fun.
Yes, you all figured it out. The shade needed to be bigger or the beads smaller. Someone pointed out the shade hits the bead at the widest point, which makes it look even more disproportionate.
Beautiful work. You never cease to amaze me.
Wow, thank you!
It's all completely marvelous but who can resist the charm of a person who builds a room to scale so as not to have to measure out the details ?! A woman after my own heart! 📏📐🧮😍✨
I got the idea from Bentley House Minis :) Ara made a tiny Beetlejuice dollhouse.
These are all fantastic!! My favourite are the chunky glasses, though - I never would have guessed you could make them like that!!!
I love making minis even better with simple added details like the chunky frames and paint.
I felt an immediate kinship with you when you mentioned the mysterious plastic ring you found on the sidewalk. I pick up random interesting-looking things too! 😂
Same! I used to find things on the sidewalk, but I actively search for items now
In quilting, a mistake ( usually a peace turned over) makes you humble. I always apply that to miniatures.
So true! Well said
So cool! Everything you created turned out so realistic. Love those snake plants girl! I know what you mean about the floor lamp, it looks kinda thicc lol! for the scale. (As if I know) 😂but it still looks awesome. I can’t wait to see Ara’s reaction! Looking forward to the Gryffindor Common Room project!
I think you're right about the lamp 😆 the beads are too chunky and the lamp shade and base are too dinky.
I love your videos, such ingenuity! I have only just recently started a doll house, and on today's video I noticed that you do not add electric cords to the lamps. I was in high school in the 70's, and the lava lamp cord would have been visible on the table it would be on, and I just wondered if the cords were omitted for a reason. Your color schemes are spot on for the 70's! Love your work!
I guess I just didn't think of the cords. I love adding little details, so I'll have to make sure to include that in the future for electronics. Thank you!
Love your talent and have used so many things you have made as inspiration for my own dollhouses.. thank you for sharing talent with us and Ara at Bentley house is also so talented her work is also inspirational as well💕💕
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
15:59 ‘and I removed the cat hair’, sounds familiar 😸 I love the lava lamp!
Story of my life but I wouldn't have it any other way 🐈 🐈
WOW absolutely amazing 🤩🤩
Thanks so much 😊
My dad made these exact side tables for my mom. We still have them. You brought back so many memories of my childhood.
Sherry
That's so sweet! I'm glad I made you nostalgic.
What a wonderful collaboration between two very talented miniature artists. Love it all and especially you showing us how you made things. Thank you. 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I loved this so much!!❤️🥰
The bean bag chairs are a perfect detail for the 70s Fairfield..along with everything you created.
Ara also inspired me and gave me the courage to start my channel. Im so glad I did, or I would still be watching and wishing! 😂🥰
I love your creations, the esthetics of how you both age miniatures has inspired me in so many of my miniatures.
This was amazing! When Ara mentioned a collab with you, I was super excited and thought about the first time she shouted us out, when u messaged me, I could feel how excited you were.🥹 that was a year ago this month I believe. I loved this!!❤❤
That's amazing! I wonder how many people she has inspired to start a channel. Maybe you and I will inspire people to start a channel!
I do remember that! It still feels surreal that she and I did a collab together. So grateful!
@queencityminis I Love that you did!❤️🥰
I've only recently discovered your channel and I've been bingeing on your videos. I love them all and think you're amazing! 🇬🇧❤🩷
Thank you so much!! Enjoy binging :)
I love that you show the failed attempts and the resurrections..... It shows a great way to fix things that might seem completely unfixable!
Absolutely! Also, you can always hide the less than stellar miniatures in the background. Worst case scenario; the attic 😆
OMG! Fantastic work ❤ I was like a kid in a candy shop when I saw your post come up but saved watching until I had time to really injoy it 😊you need your own Tv program x
Thank you so much 😀 I wonder what channel would carry such a program.
This is really a fabulous video! Love Bentley House as well and it is so cool to watch the two of you collaborate. I have a Fairfield as well and maybe now it will get some furnishings. I am a product of the 70’s so I’m qualified to say “You nailed it!”
Awesome! Thank you. I want a 1:24 dollhouse myself at this point.
Loooove the lava lamp. ❤
Thank you! I think the Oyu pla saved the day.
I am in awe of your miniature makings. Watching you, I feel nothing is impossile. I have so much left over from all different crafts that I do including jewellery, tapestry, soap making and all these supplies will aid me in my life's dream of creating a dollhouse and miniatures. You make it look so easy. Awesome!
You can do it! When I edit the video, it looks like I work on one miniature from start to finish and all the ideas come all at once. In reality, I work on several items at the same time and keep going back to each item adding more details as I think about it. One step at a time. As Bentley House Minis says, good miniatures take time.
I love it that you always say when you tried something and it didn't work so that people know that sometimes you don't do it perfect the first time because your work is so amazing
Thank you! I learned that lesson from Little Gretchen's Workshop. She has a laidback approach to making minis that helped me relax and not worry about making mistakes.
You are so very clever. I just don't know how you come up with some of the ideas and methods when you are creating Minis. I loved what you made for Bentley's 1970s house. Everything looks right at home.❤
Thank you so much! When I edit the video, I put all the clips from one miniature together in a sequence. But when I'm actually making minis, I tend to work on several at once. Sometimes I go back days later and add more details. I don't always come up with all the ideas all at once.
@@queencityminis Everything is a work in progress, but you still come up with the final result. You have an incredible imagination.
As said over on Ara's vid, it was a true joy to see a collab from 2 of my favorite miniaturists. :}
Glad you enjoyed it! It was much fun for me :)
Every single miniature piece you made in this video is so 70's, you got the feel of that decade perfectly 🥰,. I really love the lava lamp and the tiny macrame wall hanging. I was a little kid in the 70's and I remember how we thought that lava lamps were soooo cool. Love from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia
Thank you so much! I think lava lamps are still cool 😎
I got a lot of the ideas from Pinterest
Wow I'm always blown away by your creativity and how you make stuff. I keep buying pieces for my dolls house as I have been too scared to try and make them but I think I'm going to try and make something from scratch and see how I go
You should definitely give it a try! When I make minis, I tend to make a few things at the same time and keep adding details to each of the things I'm making. I added the videos and it looks like I did all of the steps in a row, but sometimes I went back days later and added another detail I thought of. I also display the best side of the miniature. And I hide ugly ones in the back 😆
Fantastic work, as ever, and so lovely to see a collaboration - those Gryffindor chairs!
I think the floor lamp problem is that the upright is too wide?
It's so funny hearing you talk about the 70s. That's my teenage years and although l know it's decades ago now it still doesn't seem that long ago to me - l guess that's what happens as you get old!
I was born in 1987, but I grew up in an outdated apartment. There were lots of 1970s items.
Very creative! Everything looks amazing! I always learn something new when watching your vids.
I'm so glad!
You make beautiful miniatures with a lot of detail. I remember the "70 I was a teenager. Orange, brown, the lavalamp, macrame, I know it all. Bentley House Minis was one of the first you tube video I found many years ago. I follow Ara all that time, she is amazing. But you are too.
That's amazing! Thank you
Just love how this looks. Hi from lutz Florida USA
Hello there, Lutz!
Good Lord! I need glasses just watching it. I can't imagine, making something so delicate. It is amazing!
Thank you! This was so much fun.
You do beautiful work my dear. Of course I watch B.H. Mini. 😍
Thank you 😁
Ara sent me here. No regrets whatsoever. I subscribed right away. Looooove your channel, and you nailed the 70’s style so well. 👌🏼
Welcome!! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I came here after watching Ara make the chairs for your Gryffindor common room. Your work is amazing and I especially enjoyed watching you make the lava lamp! Looking forward to seeing the Gryffindor project
Thank you! 😊 I can't wait to start it. The chairs are too perfect!
Liked and subscribed because of the mysterious plastic circle you found on the sidewalk.
Yay! Welcome 😁 There's more sidewalk trash where that came from.
Those two-level side tables just absolutely sent me right back to my childhood living room! 😂 Also when the cat hair showed up on the putty, I actually thought it was cat hair on my own screen at first!
That's so funny 🤣 Did you try to remove the cat hair from your screen?
@@queencityminis Yup! Tried to blow it off 😂
I always thought they were telephone tables. The landline phone went on top with the big phone book tucked underneath probably a notepad and pen nearby.
The masking tape trick to hold a tiny piece for painting has now officially saved my 1:24 and 1:12 scale and gundam loving self
So many skills and tricks are useful across multiple crafts. That's great!
You really think outside the box again and again! I’ve never commented on a video before, but I just had to applaud your work! This entire video is packed with useful advice! It’s nearly impossible to name just a few things I liked most.
I love how you transform objects into the proper scale by making simple adjustments. Such as the sunburst style mirror. (I struggle with these seemingly obvious scale hacks - 1:24 scale has been a challenge. More difficult than 1:12.)
The faux macrame wall hanging and tiny baskets are my favorite items! I can’t wait to make some fringe! Your wood tables look better than store bought doll furniture but seem relatively simple to make.
The lava lamp is the coolest! Is there anything you can’t make? I’m so inspired by your use of household items! (And thrilled to know that some of the best looking projects do NOT have to involve MATH or a lot of tedious measurements!)
Rolling the plant leaves in tape - brilliant!
Thank you for making this awesome half scale tutorial and sharing your experiences! I appreciate the mention of your trials that ended badly so I can avoid the same mistakes.
So much information that I will watch it over and over!
Thank you so much!
For me, if a DIY becomes too tedious or involves lots of math, it isn't much fun anymore. I like to cut corners to keep it fun and keep the project moving.
I am so happy with how the baskets turned out. They took no time at all to make since you just cut out a circle, then a skinny piece and glue them together. Easy peasy
The fringe was very satisfying. I didn't know if it would turn out, but it worked great.
The tables surprised me. I haven't made much furniture by hand (they were my first tables) bc I don't like tedious cutting and measuring. They were actually easy and quick to make. They're my favorites.
Thank you for watching 😊
Love the Mother-In-Law's Tongue. You can't kill those things in miniature OR life size! LOL! Fantastic job! Please keep them coming, I'm learning so much!
I agree! They're really rugged plants. Same for pothos and peace lilies.
Thank you 😊
I’ve made Snake plants with green twist ties, painting the edges with yellow. The wire in the twist tie really helped to hold the shape.
That's so clever!
@@queencityminis Well I can’t take the credit. I got it from a tutorial somewhere.
You are both amazing artists. I love all thos little minis you made.
Thank you! I appreciate that
Omg I'm obsessed lol all I ever make are half scale mini things and videos never show things this small. Only 1" scale stuff and I have to figure out how to shrink it. I'm buying this toothpicks and bamboo sticks immediately ❤❤
I'm glad it was helpful! I've used the bamboo toothpicks a lot. They're great
Melhor vídeo de miniatura que já vi ❤
Parabéns 👏🏻
Wow! Thank you so much 😊
Ara also inspired me during the lockdown. And both of you continue to do so. And I thank you gals for keeping me sane.
You're very welcome!
The caviar bead frame reminded me of costume jewelry frames of the time! Brilliant!
Awesome! The 70s had everything.
I just love the pieces you did for Ara. My favorite one is the Lava lamp. It is perfect.
And the afghan you got from Etsy was spot on. It looks like one my Grandma made for our house in the 70's. Lovely 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌹
Thank you! I'm so happy with how the lava lamp turned out. It's adorable.
Amazing minis! I love the lamp you made near the end of the video. Using a toothpaste cap for a lampshade was a great idea.
Thank you! I wish I had made the shade bigger though.
@@queencityminis I thought it looked good.
Wow...a plethora of decorations for Ara's Fairfield! They are all sooo 70's (I should know...that is when I graduated from high school!) The only thing missing was the acrylic grapes...or maybe that was 60's...🤔 Anyway, you did a terrific job on all of them. As for the floor lamp, the only thing that struck me was maybe the shade was a bit too narrow? I haven't read through all the other comments to see what else people may have said, but that's all I could see. Loved the pull chain!
Thank you! In the '80s, rubber grapes were a thing. I popped a couple in my mouth while I was at a friend's house. I immediately realized they were rubber. Worse than that, they were covered in dust!
Yes, people have pointed out the shade is too small. The bottom of the shade also hits the bead at the widest point, which makes it look even more out of scale.
Thank you Ara & Shyra - I am glad you both do such inspirational work.
Thank you so much!
Hello ! You are really efficient and made a lot of amazing things for Ara. Thank you for sharing, et vive la miniature 😊
Thank you! 😊 Efficient is the right word. I don't like to spend too much time on one item or one step
@@queencityminis yes, I think this is the key
