- Intended as a visualization tool for men learning how to serve the solemn high Mass, as well as clerics who wish to offer the Mass/serve as sacred ministers) who want more than the arrows and diagrams found in the various liturgical manuals. You will absolutely still need said manuals, as cues and other finer points were not included in these animations (this is even more the case for solemn Mass than for low Mass as featured in our other video.)
Note that what is presented here is how things are currently done in our particular chaplaincy; certain differences in the form of legitimate local customs may exist where you plan to serve. In those cases, defer to your priest and/or MC.
St. Philip Neri, ora pro nobis!
This video will save me from humiliation tomorrow thank you.
I’m serving as deacon for an upcoming solemn high mass. This is absolute gold! 🙏🏼
Possibly going to be MC, so this is great!
Serving MC tomorrow night at Holy Thursday Mass. Had to brush up on how to do solemn high 😁
im serving MC this Sunday. had too brush up a. bit too. 😃
Brilliant.
Do you mind sharing the software used to make this video? It looks really good, would love to do the same for our servers at St. Mary's. Thank you!
This is all using Microsoft PowerPoint. The various items are all "groups" of shapes and the movements are done using the animation features. I have no doubt that there are better options out there, but it's what I had available and even though it can be somewhat slow going I more or less have a process which works for me. Could you make one for a Requiem Mass?
The main differences between a typical Mass without special ceremonies due to some special occasion (as shown in this presentation) and a Requiem are a matter of omissions, so this format may not be the best for conveying that. Even as far as the absolution at the catafalque is concerned, the deacon performs the MC's usual duties (who then acts as cope-bearer) while the subdeacon acts as crucifer. Perhaps a brief addendum in the form of a much shorter video showing just the relevant differences may be in order. Thank you for the suggestion!
@@VermontTraditionalLatinMass was Fr orlowski the priest for you folks for a time?
just remember that depending on parish the acolytes may have to open and close the gate that leads into the sanctuary
Yes, that was included in the low Mass video but as you rightly mentioned it is location specific so especially with everything else going on in this one, was left out as non-essential.
do you know where to get jeffrey collins' the roman catholic ceremony?

Interesting presntation, it reminds me of St. Nicolas du Chardonnet church in Paris, one ofa few churches that regularly perfoms Latin-rite Mass. I tried to make a vlog about thischurch in J9-Phq5Ca3o (copy paste it in CZcams Search). Hope you also like it.
was Fr orlowski the priest for you folks for a time?
No, we've only had the one chaplain we have now.
