I have been buying Harleys for over 30 years. And a big part of that is because they are made in America. I could buy better bikes that are cheaper, but the idea of Americans building the bikes and supporting their families makes a difference to me.
Well said!
@@markmcintosh7095 robots build bikes not people.
@@eveythingthatsadamAs long as Americans are running and servicing said robots, his point stands. Haha
That's why I'm training my Harley for a Buell super cruiser. More American made than any new Harley.
@@eveythingthatsadamAmerican robots! Get your facts straight. 😂
CEO MUST GO! PERIOD!
Absolutely a fact!
Speak your mind bro. If snowflakes can't handle it, that's their problem. Fragile ppl need strong ppl to tell them the truth. No filter
Why? Cost savings. It's really that simple. Will consumers see the savings in a lower msrp? Probably not.
Some of the 24s were cheaper than the 23s. If you bought a nice color you saved because they were charging more money for black. They made the 24s considerably more valuable with bigger engines and better suspension.
@@crypto_queI was shocked at the (lower) price of the 24 SGs and RGs compared to the 23s, it was significant at my local dealer. I almost pulled the trigger, until they made an offer on my 22 FXLRS that has less than 5k miles. I walked out the door and didnt look back 😂
No 'probably not' about it. The buyer will pay more while the company (any company, not just HD) makes more money.

HD needs to get rid of the CEO and board. Replace those people with people who ACTUALLY ride and know motorcycles, not just be another greedy corporate clown. I think they might just have a shot at redemption if they hire the right people who believe in American manufacturing and what this means for the country. What surprises me is that there are hardly any Harley or Davidson family members involved in the company's decision making. So much talk about Willie G...where is everyone else in those families and how come they're not actively trying to save the brand? Things that make you go hmmm...

Let's face it, Harley blew it by not producing the Bronx !!!
Still waiting for it 😢
It will be made in Thailand if it ever sees production! 😵💫
You have to unmess New York State of political and business affairs for that to happen and you still aren’t Wisconsin so theres that🤣🤣
I’m lost on the Bronx part? What happened?
I'm from New Zealand and apparently all HD's apart from the baggers (s/glide & r/glide) for New Zealand & Australia are made in Thailand, my '22 LRS was made there, I would rather have it made in the USA but there's no way to now without importing at great cost, nothing wrong with the bike though
👌🏽
Australia & NZ’s biggest trading partners are in Asia. Mainly China. Even your currencies are tied to directly to Asian currencies, those pairs trade higher volumes than with USD. It’s a really big world out there bigger than Western Nationism. In fact the economic shift started in the 1500s. Power moved West, now a few thousand years later the massive economic pendulum is swinging back to the East.
Yea mate my lowrider st has a thailand sticker
Price, price, price. The bikes cost way too much for this generation! As far as shifting production overseas,it’s a slap in the face for American workers. Coming from a union man’s perspective.
As a person that directly works for HD this is false news some of there products are going over seas we know this however you youtube content creators need to really watch what you put out to people just saying I do hope your aware that HD is taking action of false information just make sure you do your research before you put things out just saying nice video too
Harley needs to make a scrambler and a bike that’s under 10 grand
Amen
@@Dodoa39 a scrambler 🤣
@@davincho1111😊
I think they would sell well those Asian models. Seen them during the riding academy. Those bike could be sold for 5K and they still be making money.
The reason why they don’t is because they can’t afford to make a less expensive machine. They pay USW workers well and that will translate to elevated priced. Sorry. Not hating on union labor, that’s just the way of things.
Its for the shareholders and the big returns they expect... they dont give a..... Blackrock
As an owner of a 2023 pan America I can tell you if the bike had been manufactured overseas I would never have purchased it. Dumb move considering their already bad press.
That Buell Super Cruiser is sounding better and better.
This move will not affect American jobs…yet they also claimed their motorcycles would be made only in the USA. Talk is cheap. Actions matter. With the current CEO and Board I don’t believe their words.
I bet producing bikes in Thailand will make it way easier (logistically and financially) for HD to sell bikes outside of the US- like Australia, Japan, etc.
People are too quick to give the company a hard time
China is their goal.
Everybody complaining but at the same time 90% of everything on their house is made in China , I don’t hear people complain about that 100$ flat screen tv their watching or their typing in the comments from their Chinese made iPhone or android .

Some bikes. If you want to get subscribers don’t use a click bait title.
Title kinda misleading.....anyway, keep in mind that the "Limited's" and Trike models need to be updated with the new renovations of the 24 standard and CVO models....my guess they need to retool, shift capacity for flexibility to handle their latest platforms across the board of the touring models.....In addition, maybe they'll be updating the Softail lineup like they did with the touring....the thing is they can't make things public and let us know every little detail until launch time....let's try to tone down the gloom and doom as MoCo will still be around even after our last rides...
I personally don't have an issue with it. All companies look to expand. If you are moving the company and taking away american jobs, big problem! That line of HD does not do well in the States. It may do better in another country.
Harley EXPANDING production to Asia? What an awesome perspective! Instead of viewing this as something being taken away from Americans it’s a company increasing its market share in another part of the world. Wow.
Several parts of Harley’s haven’t been made in America for years now. Suspension, brakes, wiring harnesses, etc.
Dude wake up! Harley is only loyal to its shareholders That's it. Harley doesn't care who buys their motorcycles as long as they get sold. I've been a writer since '99. I Hispanic and I live in New Jersey. Here all the Harley riders are white.
Back in 2000 2001 2003 Harley was printing money you would walk up to a dealer and they would be a sheet on the front door and those with available motorcycles that you can buy and they would sell out that day motorcycles came in and they left the same day. All their ads were geared towards elderly white people. Then 2007 came or around 2008 and Harley started slipping. Then they started advertising towards the black and the Hispanic but by then it was too late. Old people were dying and young people did not look at Harley the same way old people did.
Harley used to be for the working man. Now their motorcycles are only for rich people. The doctor the dentist the guy who buys the bike keeps it in his garage behind velvet ropes. He rides to the local bar brags about his bike and then rides back. That's who Harley wants to sell bikes too.
I bought two parts today from Harley , one part was made in Japan and the other in Mexico .
It happens………. All US manufacturing to some extent gets moved to Asia at some point. Less restrictions and cheaper labor. The bikes we ride are already assembled in the US using foreign manufactured parts so now the production will be there too for some bikes. This is just Harley taking the 1st step to moving all production overseas. Consumers just need to bite the bullet and understand it costs companies too much to produce in the US. Pay a US worker 40 an hour or an Asian worker 10 an hour?
It's also corporate tax. That is a huge factor here.
If people believe that their Ford, Chevy, Dodges are made strictly with American made parts they are sadly mistaken.
@@waltertodd4281exactly right there is very little made that is truly made in America. On that note it can be assembled in America made with foreign parts. That’s not made in America!!!!!!!!!

The fact that they are sending the bikes to Thailand and are able to send them back to the US and make a bigger profit just goes to show that the cost of building bikes in the US is getting too freaking expensive. Unions! Government Regulations! EPA requirements! all show that these areas need to get addressed.
Harley is just doing this for that market, they are building the engines there for that market. They will still be built in the US.Those bikes are not selling here and are selling alot in Asia. They will not be made there to ship back here because it would cost more
We get the Chinese made X500 here in Oz, and they didn't dare try to sell those in the US.
U have a harley logo tattoo?! hope they gave you a free bike atleast!!
It’s all about margins for the company. They want to keep the share holders happy. We have all been buying Harley apparel thats made in china for years now, check the tags on any shirt, boots, gloves jackets. I honestly believe its a test run to see how it goes with those to bikes, and they move models later. It’s all about the $$$$ for companies even HD.
There is no aftermarket for nightster that’s why they don’t sell.
Interesting perspective on this change. The union will never want to see work go, but given the product going to Thailand, the nature of “manufacturing” in Thailand, and the statement from the company that is is temporary, I think peeps should watch this play out before they start saying this is a bad thing.
They betrayed customers but you want to stick with them anyway ? Strange
Alex, we don't buy bikes according to who the jerks upstairs are ... We buy them because we like the bikes. And whether we buy new or used depends on the prices !
Make it in Asia or Hawaii and still charge 15k for a bike is crazy but. In these times who can afford the prices of a bike at that number sell them for at least 3k-15k and possibly they will sell more bikes
Put the 1250 Rev Max engine in the Nightster and it’ll do numbers
New leadership is needed and board members for Harley, preferably an American ceo who grew with Harley and hire ppl that are the best at what they do and not hire based off quotas!
Kinda sucks especially for the Pan America but the other bikes that will be made overseas are geared more towards overseas customers. To see hew sportsters at a bike night or ride or just cruising down the road is odd to say the least
Nobody what's the new sporters. They screwed that up, pam America has issued, blowing up, and wiring... issue. Let them go there no one wants them. Harley got more problems then this💨💨💨💨💨
I agree w/ ya. The American market is in all the bikes being manufactured here. Harley has to make smart financial decisions to protect the company’s future. Unfortunately decisions get made that we don’t like but follow that old money trail and you’ll always find the reasons. This topic runs way deeper than Harley Davidson. Personally I’ll never forget the history we’re representing here and I hope that we can continue to pave success to be proud of 🇺🇸
Countries put tariffs on Harleys made in the U.S. it's b.s but it's true. Brazil was one of the first, and they started sending over kits to Brazil to be assembled their for the South American market. I'm sure it's the same in other countries. It's cheaper for HD to do this. The new thing with them being sent over seas then brought back, seems weird.
You don't have to worry about those bikes being made overseas now. Wait.
Possibly it hurts with the US but probably helps with the world market globally. Exporting from the US is much more expensive. Exporting globally from Asia is much cheaper to the rest of the world. So the gamble for HD is will they expand enough globally to make up the difference
I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here, but I bought a harley because it was union made in america. yeah, I think they're cool, but most motorcycles are cool. I love riding a bike that I know helped american works put food on their table. this isn't even a political thing. I'm liberal as hell. KEEP THESE GODDAMN UNION JOBS IN AMERICA
Harley needs to make a bad ass sport bike.
I think everyone with negative comments should untie the knots in their panties. HD is not Budweiser. Anyone with any sense learned a hella lesson from that debacle. It is obvious to me HD is attempting to upgrade its machines and the shops they own/use for upcoming perhaps still on-the-board motorcycles, and to do that they must expand their shops... by a lot. It is much cheaper for HD to temporarily move much of their bike-building overseas during the expansion process. Y'all hold your horses; they coming back bigger and better.
Dude, they have been producing bikes in Thailand for the past 3 years. This includes the Bagger line, don’t leave them BS you?
Nice Scout 101.
I rode one of those in Sturgis, and really liked it. I would get one, but I already have an FTR, and I like it better. But that Scout 101 is badass.
The Sportster S in my opinion was pretty radical fo HD. The Nightster was more inline visually to the 883, even if the engine was way different. Now if I wanted an Asian manufactured bike there are some great rides to be had. If I wanted something from the UK there are great bikes as well. I wanted a HD for many reasons but buying American is one of them. I hope this isn’t permanent, if they’re trying to skirt the tariffs in other countries I understand. I also believe HD is popular in other countries for the same way it is in our country. It’s American with a long history of success. Of course affordability is big, the question is how much can be quality and still be competitive. The quality over time on an HD is substantial. I’ve owned my bikes from other manufacturers and being honest with myself. The HD product is a better quality product. I’m not dissing any of the other bikes out there. We live in a time where we have so many good choices. My choice is HD 😎
Thailand has a 300% tariff on imports. I personally have never seen a Harley in the kingdom. Seen a couple gold wings otherwise is mostly glorified mopeds. Harley developing and building in small bikes for the s e Asia market might be a way to get into that market.
Harley Davidson have been producing all their models in Thailand since around 2017 to supply the European market.
I’ve had the HD bar & shield patch on my vest since 1999. It was sown on upside down for a few reasons and now I can add one more reason why I’ll never buy a brand new bike from that company !!! and yes I do own 2 bikes a rigid sporty chop and an 03 100th anniversary dyna. Fuck the Factory !!!
No excuses for bad behavior by corporate HD ! If you send manufacturing overseas, will the price drop ? I doubt the price will drop? In fact, delivery/transport fees will be higher !!! Say goodbye to affording or wanting to purchase an HD !!!!!
So your headline of Harley won’t be making bikes in America anymore isn t quite right is it?
When harley has to compete on a level playing field, they will go belly up. (Much like all American companies)
What's it going to take to get rid of that CEO?
Harley should be renamed to Thailey. There should be no problem as long as they are not taking away from the American workers.
Do we live in Americaley?
If I want a foreign bike, there’s plenty of other options
I’m an Indian guy and I have noticed the cheaper HD bikes look cheaper and the sales are friggin old looking. I would never buy one. If you look at what Indian offers the newbies that enter into the motorcycle world it’s more exciting. However, that being said Indian still kinda falls short as well. I think the entry and mid-level of Triumph is spot on personally.
Great video 👍 The Brand is first responsible to the shareholders everything else is not important 😮.If a smart company could plan and manufacture in the US market at a profit then not a problem.😊
I am a big supporter of Harley as well. This decision by them will not impair my support for the brand.
They should rename it Pan Thailand.
If they want a younger core customer bring the BRONX out they can make it anywhere and it will sell better than any bike they have now
So the Harleys that are going to be made in another county are the ones the so called base HD customers don't even ride or even consider them to be Harleys?
I’m not too concerned about all this because my dealership in Tasmania still believes in delivering the highest possible level of customer service. It’s not cheap but nothing about these particular bikes is cheap.
BOYCOTT! FHD! 🤑💣

@Marvelkid87 I'm Australian so I don't know fully what the deal is but yea ours are made or assembled in Thailand.
At this point, everything is made somewhere else, but HD should make them here ..even if we pay these damn insane prices, if not, they better be 10k if they made them in Thailand 😅...As far as i know the ones sold here are made here only the offshoes market are made outside, some parts of course. Nothing new. I debadged mine ..CEO and the board of directors must go!
The answer is right behind you.
As a starting motorcycle rider I’m going to start with a ninja 400. When I’m experienced I’ll look into a Harley dyna or a low rider st only. Harley’s are wayyy to expensive for any beginner unless you buy it used for a deal. 😅
The thing is you don't have to live in a fragile world let alone cater to fragile people. Speak your mind and say what you want to say. Don't let them dictate your life broski.
but ford & Chevy trucks are made in Mexico so do you have a problem with that?
The bikes have been made in Thailand since 2021 for the asian and EU market. And if you think your bikes are "Made inUSA" i suggest you look alittle closer to some parts.. Alot of stuff on the bikes are made in china rofl
Built cheaper over there but guess who is paying to bring them back when done U.S. consumer. That's right!
Harley needs an Amercan as the CEO. Thats why they're moving their bikes to be made elsewhere. It's all dollars and cents. Everyone is corrupt. All skimming off the top. The whole system is broken.
Tool and die setups for two different platforms, maximizing the global economy. I can't blame them. Triumph, KTM, BMW, Cadillac, Ford, the list goes on. So many companies are utilizing global networking to build out of country. I think there's a lot of things I have no idea about, but the back and forth of raw materials and completed products back to the US, I think of a little policy called NAFTA comes to mind. US politicians/policy makers have more to do with this type of move more than a US manufacturer might have leverage over. Labor costs and materials drive these decisions from what I've come to learn.
There are plenty of talented and dedicated workers around the world. Yes I'm 100% for a 100% US made product, but my pocket book probably can't afford to buy everything 100% made in the US for my life, if it were even possible these days. Even their own touring and softail line, there's a multitude of components that are not made in the US. It's a global economy after all.
No Harley’s should be made out of America!
they’d sell more of those overseas they must have researched it and it was profitable
I do not agree moving to Asia. Harley should remain in the US. Harley may loose riders to other companies if they continue with these business practices.
New CEO it is needed one that is the former CEO of Renault and Nissan to hire Erik Buell.
You asked.
I own 3 Harleys so I feel I have a say towards the company.
I was hoping to get a Pan America in the future. If not made here I'll get a used one that was made here. Not buying one from overseas, it loses it's soul.
I think the bigger picture is, (HD Corporate) why leave us all with speculation, leave us in the dark?
Why hasn't upper management come out and clarify what their position is on various issues.
I find it hard to believe that a company is going to spend millions to set up a factory with tooling to then dismantle it a year later. Yo no soy bobo.
It seems to me that upper management doesn't really know their client base on various issues. Business 101 dictates, know your clientele.
Some people are more patriotic than others. The phrase, God, Family, Country does not say and HD.
The tooling already exists in Thailand for not only production of Rev Max engine bikes but also the rest of the Harley M8 models; the reason being production of all models for the British and European markets moved there from the US in 2019, six years ago.
That factory has been there since 2017 from what I've heard.
@1100andFortyEight Ok, but I believe those are for the Asian Market and Europe. Pan American is made here but will no longer be. I highly doubt they return. It all about $$.
By the way JZ needs to go get an American to run an American made company as of now the board better shape or Harley will be gone in 5 years max. I’m a Harley guy but I’m tired of being disrespected while they are taking my money.
Zeitz needs to be fired. Can't trust a non-rider to run the company.
I was in the market to buy a Harley, but now I will be buying Indian
Blockhead brought me here.
My husband and I were both raised on Harley with our dads...it was a way of life...we have always owned Harleys...now we are selling it and going Indian...Harley no longer has the heart of its people...
Times have changed ok .trust me if you keep keep harley aroung
MAYBE Harley is clearing out the Nighsters factory to make room for the BRONX!
Lets not blow this out of proportion. HD is just making bikes overseas that use the Revolution Max engine used in the Pan America, Sporter, etc. The "old" bikes are still made in USA. HD is like any other corporation, they want to make as much money as possible, at the least cost. I don't agree with this corporate mindset but it is, what it is!!
All rev max based production is moving out of the country, nothing else
It's, in air quotes... "Temporary". LoL suuuuure. That CEO has got to go.
sport chief lookin better n better
Pan America is in a very tough Market. BMW dominates the adventure bikes. And there are several manufacturers that build a better product than the Pan Amercia
Okay so where to begin. This is going to piss a lot of people off but hardly it has been making one bad decision after another their clientele is dying unfortunately and with no reach out or anything that appeals to the new Rider there are no new riders. Somebody made a comment below the CEO must go, I agree with that
Don't shoot me. From my understanding most of the Pan Americas are sold overseas. Those bikes built overseas have less warranty claims. I wonder if the they rushed the bike into production in the US, and now need to go back and retool. Those guys that work on assembly lines are only has good as the tools given. With so many issues of pinched wiring harnesses, bolts left un torqued, no thread lock from the factory it stand to question. I love my 22 Pan America, and am proud of it coming out of York PA. If the bike was not built in the US I may have still purchased it, but would not have paid the Harley Tax. I paid for a premium bike, and for it to depreciate in price faster than its Asian counter parts is unacceptable.
I think that CEO must go. He's hurting the MoCo more than guiding it towards any sort of brilliant future. Anyone who wants an Asia-made bike will buy from Japan's Big Four. If someone wants an American ride will buy an US-made bike... I guess Indian will eat the cake right off HD's plate...
They say any press is good press, they got everyone’s attention…CEO’s come and go, it’s by design…oh and yerrrrrrrr!
To create vtwin engine harley davidson need ore,
purification of minerals to obtain added value from mining products, especially nickel which is abundant in Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and North Maluku, indonesia.
high demand for nickel and attractive prices, nickel mines scattered throughout Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi began exporting raw nickel ore without added value. Due to the lack of processing, the raw nickel ore was exported together with its sand.
I own 3 Harleys and they wont get another $1 from me untill they get rid of that woke CEO. Harley is the next American company to go broke. Sad
The Asian market and region in general is going to grow much faster than here in the states. I love the Pan America and Nightster and can def see those platforms being very well received there compared to here. If they build that platform there they will sell more bikes and make more money because they will avoid tariffs. If the company does better I would hope the prices will come down here as well and the factories here will be employing lots of people. I feel like this move will ultimately keep the company in the black. Honestly American bikes and cars are filled with parts manufactured overseas at this point. Full disclosure I own 3.4 shares off the company stock! LOL
The whole Harley lineup, both Rev Max and M8 bikes, have been built in Thailand for the British and European markets since 2019. Harley are just upping production of Rev Max bikes to be imported from Thailand to the U.S. Hopefully the M8 bikes won’t follow suit, but the capability has been in place for at least six years.
Hope the bikes come back cheaper and more reliable from Taiwan… otherwise it really doesn’t make any sense
