- Welcome to my channel! Here you'll find folklore from across the British Isles. In this video, I take a look at the ghosts the haunt the royal residence of Windsor Castle in Berkshire. One of the most impressive castles in England, Windsor boasts around 25 ghosts, including the spirits of Elizabeth I, Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Charles I, George III, and Queen Victoria. The footage I use is from my trip to the south in 2019.

There’s a double rainbow in one of the photos at 7.05, one was seen when our beloved Queen Elizabeth II passed in September 8th 2022
When I first moved to England, Windsor Castle was the first castle I went to see. And when my dad visited me for the first time, this was the very first place we took him. He loved it
I used to love walking to Windsor Castle from my home in Slough, when I was a kid. Entry was free then, and the walk was made more exciting by the fact that we would be trespassing nearly all the way - rifle range, railway land, the grounds of Eton College etc.
Never saw any ghosts.
Very comfy, shame about the ghosts though. Hard to believe it was free though, costs £25 now.
You may have to go into the dungeons!

Windsor is what I think of when I picture a medieval castle, it’s foreboding as well as beautiful
If I ever encounter the ghost of Elizabeth or any Royals I wouldn’t be surprised I would just start up a conversation with them.
God save the Queen, Rest in Peace Her Gracious Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of United Kingdom & northern Ireland, and of All her other realms and Territories, Lord of Mann, Defender of the faith.
I loved visiting when I was a kid
I live in Berkshire so I like hearing stories from here like Herne the hunter

Herne the Hunter is said to stalk the Great Park apparently.
The ghosts in Windsor Castle could have had a good time with Elizabeth And Margaret during the War as they could have prepared her for her ascension to the Throne.
I'd love to visit all these beautiful castles

Why haven't you done the ghosts of the castle's of the kings of Northern Ireland? Would love to see this. No one that I have watched has gotten it right yet. They leave out so much. Including the fact that the last Irish king had 2 son's. And the oldest James fled for his very life to america, because his younger brother was going to have him killed to take the crown from him. His children still live.

Amazing place, looks huge! I wonder if any of the royal ghosts really resemble their paintings? I think Elizabeth I would look quite scary as a ghost, it'd be great to actually see her though. Love the vid, thanks!👍🏻😊

That's what I say about Jane Seymour. Henry is buried next to her. If he were buried next to me I'd "walk" too! I'd walk a long way!
Why??? She was no victim she herself had many people killed in her rise to power she played a game for power and lost.

Ghost of Windsor Castle is a famous story.
Great video as always. Especially as the castle is local to me. Do you know about Herne the Hunter in Windsor Great Park?
Of course, a truly great tale!
I wasn't aware of a "real-life" Herne the Hunter story, but I know him as the horned forest spirit/god from the '80s tv show Robin of Sherwood.

I stayed in Watchet once….I was one of many guests in the hotel. When departing and I inquired at a local pub about the history of the hotel…they…informed me…that hotel was….long…an abandoned ruin! 😲 😔

Great video. I moved near to Windsor 18 years ago from the Midlands and have been in the castle because of my dislike of our present monarchy I had no interest. Ghost stories aside it looks magnificent on your video. I will make an effort to visit when I can. Thank you

Anne Boleyn died in the Tower of London and Queen Victoria died at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight so I find it strange that they haunt Windsor Castle , ghosts usually haunt the site where they died .
Usually but not always. Can be anywhere that they had an attachment to
i think that ghosts have the capability to haunt more than one place. like anne boleyn haunts windsor and hever castle.

I think it depends on how you view ghosts . If you accept the 'Stone Tape' theory, they can be wherever they had an intense experience during life. Because it is not them, it is an old home video of them, if you get my meaning. Endlessly replaying an instant of their existence over and over again, when something triggers it.
Yes i heard about Ane but there are so many that had terrible death so i can imagine there are hundreds of ghosts there😁

Elizabeth I is more well known to haunt Windsor since she spent more time there. Anne Boleyn meanwhile is said to haunt a number of places, mainly The Tower of London where she was executed, and her two childhood homes Blickling Hall and Hever Castle.

The good news is that the hunting in the castle seem harmless, maybe ad they love living in the castle so much. Some of the hunting ones outside are bad, so they should not let anyone do it & if they must not do it alone!!!
What do you mean by bad? Would you elaborate, please? I live in the USA and I am fascinated by the history of England. I would love to visit but I doubt it will happen.
Sorry, but Wallis never headed any, or suggested any redesigns at Windsor. Victoria’s spirit, obviously ,has been fed the wrong ghostly information……..

His speaking voice is really great. He enunciated every word perfectly. He has a Scottish Accent but it is not a strong one like some you will find elsewhere in Scotland so I cannot understand why you do not understand him.

Love watching but could you please use some spooky music in the intros.. I’m sick of that horrible Iris folkie, Piper music.. or that wispy Celtic crap sorry no offence it’s horrible an good appropriate music set the scene.. that Iris folkie pipe music is and Celtic sounds are hideous.
Yeah man my newer videos have music specifically written to suit the mood by my composer friend. I’m not relying on this type of music anymore :-)
