Oh gosh I so much miss these Lakeland views. Amongst my favourite on the planet. So glad to have you back out on them to give us exactly what we want to be doing. Ah your first compass. I think mine was my fourth birthday, loved it. Ive never done Binsey but your logic is right about the views from these skirting smaller fells. Trig looks higher than the Cairn id say. My wainwright books are one of my life’s treasures, I have some very old editions that i absolutely adore. Well listening to you recite AW about Binsey I have to do this one even if it is a linear escapade. A worthy amount given to my favourite Blencathra and its Sharp Edge. A real joy to watch Alistair, AW would be hugely proud of your incredibly respectful content ❤

    Alastairs that was brilliant. 👏
I was so happy when I saw that you’d uploaded. I’ve really missed your videos and you bring a uniqueness & authenticity to them. When you speak of the fells and mountains you speak of them as friends.
It was lovely to hear your chat at the top and your stories going back to the 70’s.
Please keep them coming Alastair as ones like me really enjoy all that you do 👍

Thanks for your kind words Phil. It means a lot, I actually recorded a bit more on the top but deleted it when I watched it back! It's a fine line between being interesting and boring I think!
The Lakes hills are like old friends to me, I'm glad you think that shows through.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting, it's much appreciated cheers Alistair 👍

Glad you enjoyed it Steve, I can't say I'll always have a bit of a waffle. Just felt like I would change things a bit!

Hi Alistair, great to see you you back out again. I did a wild camp on Binsey the other week. It’s might be an outlying small fell but the views are spectacular, I loved it. We were blessed with a clear cloudless, cold crisp evening, the views over to the Isle of Man and to Dumfries and Galloway were stunning.
    All the best
    Dave 😀⛰🥾

Hi Dave, there looked to be a few good spots to pitch up Binsey. Sounds like you had much clearer weather than on my recent visit.
Thanks for watching and commenting, ATB Alistair 👍

Well done on hitting 400 Alistair and the next time I do Binsey I must do it the longer way, previously I have always took the short up and down. I remember me and my son hanging onto that high point last December in 50mph winds and torrential rain. Not a bad price to pay for the Northern Fells book but what a shame your dad did not also do the full 214, cheers Alan

Dad was only interested in doing the fells he thought had interesting features really. Me.... I've just had an obsession 😂😲🤔 with hills and mountains all my life!
The price of the guides had gone up by book 5, The Northern Fells. The earlier copies were 12/6! I'll maybe take one of those out another day!
Thanks for watching and commenting Alan it's very much appreciated, ATB Alistair 👍

For that matter, no children are "daft" either.
Those were the days when you were sent to the classroom corner with a dunce's cap on. Although I can't remember that happening at Grasmere school where I started like my brothers before me in 1958.
We left for Germany in 1961, so when I mentioned Blencathra to one of my brothers, I had to tell him that he knew the mountain as Saddleback. And btw who is Wainwright anyway?😅
Good to see you still going strong. Excuse my waffling, but I know that comments are good for the channel. (Even the negative ones)

Waffle away!😂... I'm always keen to hear others experience's. When I get round to Blencathra I'll no doubt have a chat about it's alter ego...my maternal Grandad always called it Saddleback as well!
Thanks for watching and commenting, ATB Alistair 👍
