- This is the best rabbit cage that I have seen and I did build it myself and I built it to keep my rabbits cool during the hot summer, I did see one that cost more money, but it did not have this much room nor the underground cooling.

This isn't an extreme rabbit cage... this is a rabbit utopia! wow really well thought out and designed. I have to build something like that for my rabbits.
I would love to see it when it is completed.
I'm impressed! I've been trying to figure out how to give my rabbits (when I get them, I don't have any yet) a "safety" area from predators, and a place to keep cool from the heat... While still allowing them the freedom of outside and all the grass that they want to eat, etc... This is an amazing and well thought out idea! Awesome job!
This is the best rabbit house I have seen. I am so glad to find this video, I have been searching the internet for ideas that accommodate the rabbit and don't just put them in a cage.
It's wonderful to see such care for rabbits. Thank you for showing this video.
They are lucky rabbits :D
those look like some very happy bunnies!! they have everything but internet........
This is simply amazing. Hats off.
I so much appreciate you showing us this. It is quite impressive and gives me ideas too....
You care so much about your rabbits! It makes me happy to know there are n people who care n about their rabbits as much as you do!:)
That is like my dream rabbit cage!!!! awesome job!
seeing so many small cages that most people had. Yours is luxury for the rabbits. Good karma on you :D
You are keeping them right and I'm happy about it :) I can't believe that the most owners hold them alone in a small cage or bunnies in a small double floor cage. But you are a good owner. Your bunnies are lucky
I plan on doing something like this, but right now I have to keep them in cages and let them out to hop around every day. Thanks for posting!
Thank you' It is pretty cool to see the bunnies be able to run, play and jump inside their cage area. They really seem to enjoy it. They are, all the time stretched out and laying on their sides with no care in the world. My neighbors are always wanting to move in. :)
amazing enclosure! 😊 your buns are lucky to have such an awesome owner.
That is simply amazing, and the workmanship is wonderful. I especially like the underground protection idea. Thank you for sharing your bunny cages with us.
Bless, Sheila
Wow you really went all out. Cool rabbit cage.
That is so amazing! I am getting a rabbit for Christmas (next month) and I have been looking up so many cage ideas. This is by far the best thing I have ever seen!!! :)
Best rabbit owner of the yr sick of seeing rabbits in cage life 24/7 at least your cage lots of room
Thanks for your comment... greatly appreciate it!
Thank you, It was by accident that I figured to do that. But once I did. During the extreme heat of the summer they will stay down there all day and I will only see them at night. The ground stays about 73 degrees. So they know will the A/C is :)
This is really awesome. What lucky bunnies!
Wow, wish I could afford to do this! It looks GREAT!
Excellent idea. Even for dogs this would be great. Thanks for posting to share the ideas.
Its fairly simple, just build a platform, buy a dog kennel, put a roof on it and something in the middle to support the roof. The rest is up to you on how you want it to look and function. Thanks for your comment.
GREAT setup!
That’s how a believer cares for their animals, excellent!
That is fantastic work!
This is a really great rabbit house! Good work!
Wow, this is what i imagined to build, you are awesome.
Thank you for your comment... Truthfully I,m not much different than anybody else. A pack of stray dogs destroyed my last cage along with the rabbits and that pissed me off. So this cage came out of that incidence. It will take more than a pack of stray dogs to get into this one. But my rabbits really enjoy all the room and the tunnels. They are very happy rabbits. :)
You have done an excellent job and have given me some good ideas
Nice rabbit cage! When you mention 112 degree days I knew you had to be in Texas! The heat in July and August are real problems for rabbits in the Hill Country. The Hill Country jack rabbits and cotton tails manage, but I'm not sure of the domestic rabbits. I have designed but not yet built a rabbit cage similar to yours.
Absolutely Amazing, well planned and all about the bunnies. We at Hole in the sky rabbits salute you.
I'm pretty sure I just saw the best tended rabbits on the planet!
I tell ya... Thats a nice setup. Love the channel name even better.
Wow, just wow! I think thats the BEST rabbit cage/hutch I've ever seen!! :3
What a nice cage! Bunny manor right there!
Great job!!!!! That is awesome
Wow! That is super cool! I could just go in there to hang out & commune with the bunnies. :)
Primo!!! 5 star lodging!! They got it made!!!
What lucky bunnies! Great Vid!
If I had rabbits who deserved a holiday I would book them in here... :)
the little babies are so cute!
great job
I wonder what the rabbit on the little platform ladder thing was thinking... It looks like it was in a dream about dancing carrots and stuff
I have got to make sure my daughter in law does not see this or I will have 50 of these on our farm. Look fantastic. Well thought out and exicuted.
Wow, that's awesome!
very well done, you are the man!
cheers
That's awesome I wish I had room to build one like that at my house
I'm so building this for our bunnies! Our little Hazel Elizabeth is expecting...should have baby Lionheads in about 20 days....who wants one? ;-)
Well that is diffidently easier on the pocket book. I wish I was able to do that but I have two jobs and I'm in and out constantly. I'm sure your rabbits really love the garden :)
hi, i was wondering how you build the flooring and underground cooling, its the best rabbit enclosure I've ever seen!
R4z T4h Thank You for your comment.... Fairly easy, Know were you want the floor to be... Second know were you want your tunnels to penetrate the floor that will go to the tub. Now figure out were the best place to dig for your tub... Know this and now it is time to start.. 1. Dig hole for tub... 2. Cut hole in tub for the plastic 6" drain line (their tunnel or tunnels), about 2" from the top of the tub, prepare to dig a little for the drain line because part of it will be slightly underground. Put tub and drain line or lines together and put in the ground.3. Now the Flooring, My pen is 10' x 10' so I built a 12' x 12' floor. My floor is sitting on 12" flat square blocks. Just try to keep it level. Then make it all fit, You may have to adjust a little because of floor joist.FYI... Drain line needs to be flexible and no holes in it. And also some rabbits maybe to big for a 6" drain line. you would have to figure out a different method.
The skirting around the floor are 6" wide fence that I cut in small sections.
Fabulous!!
man that is awesome !
Definitely making one of these
i need to do for homeless rabbits , i liked your home rabbits idea . thank u :)
This sir is the best idea ever especially the two underground spots thats amazing, i do have two questions though 1 is how do you clean it poop ect. And 2 what happens if a rabbit gets stuck and or is dead in the tunnel? I would imagine the smell would be terrible. Thanks and really really good job
wonderful!
i love it. i will have one like this one day.
very nice!
amazing! lucky bunnies
That is fabulous! Love it. Are those Mini-Lops?
Sorry, Hopefully that will be the last one I build. But it is fairly simple to build. Floor, dog-kennel, roof. After that it's up to you how you want it to look. Good luck with raising your rabbits. I hope you have a lot of them. :)
Yeah that's awesome!
good job
cool kennel!!! very nice work.
question: does the insulation add any noticeable difference in temperature? it seems like with the high ceiling, open walls and the big gap above the lattice, all the warm/cool air escape there?
Very impressive, a good way to keep out my local coywolves.
Nice!
I absolutely love your rabbit cage!!! I have a flemish giant rabbit and I want to build a big outdoor rabbit cage for him. How much did it cost to build? if you build another one please, make a video on it. :)
Nice ending
wow that's nice
I dig the underground getaway! No pun intended :D
woow very nice !
Thank You for your comment, just a quick note: the rabbit really love the tunnels in the summer. They'll stay there all day because it's cool there.
The underground tunnels are a brilliant idea. That must of been part of the concrete slab design right?
The only way that I could think of doing it better would be to site the hutch on top of a filled in in-ground pool. That concrete wall would prevent dig-outs and still give all the tunneling the little hairballs could want. This is an excellent design.
Great idea for a hot climate issue.
Basically, taking a dog run (costs less than a high end rabbit cage)
Adding a few features. (lattice and pine board)
Security inside and outside.
The only issue I have, as with almost ALL Utube videos, is the hand held camera jiggle and video length. Mount a tripod, get the kid/buddy to hold the camera, speak into a mike clearly, and you'd have a top notch film on your hands.
*mic
beautiful job. We will be raising bunnies in AZ so don't know if it will work there! What part of the country do you live in? high humidity? AZ has extreme heat but pretty low humidity.
very cool indeed
Thats cool
Ur so awesome!!!!!!
awesome
damn i would live in that!
Nice
i love this ^-^
Wish i had the room for a setup like this =(
This would be good if you have a bunch of free roaming dogs around. I have that problem. Until I build something reasonably close to this I plan on putting a low power electric fence around my rabbit cages. It won't affect the rabbits when built right but it will make the dogs instantly lose interest in the rabbits. Low power will not kill them, just sting them a little.
What's the tubing called that you used for the tunnels? I see something like it at petstores all the time for 14 dollars but alike things at stores like Lowes and Home Depot always seem to be cuter- there is one that is a cardboard cylinder and it's around 11-20 dollars at petstores and without color at a store like I named was around 1-3 dollars
I need something like that for my woolly's and woolly-rex mix bunnies
That's HORRIBLE! I'm so sorry for your beloved pets. I can see why you went to such lengths to protect them. I would have too.
You did a great job though. :)
I would like to see the out side run pen that you have set up for them as we have bunnies. And are doing exactly what you are doing. But the out door arena I am concerned as they are burrowing. Please comment and let me know
Oh I seen at the end your out door arena LOL. Is it just regular fencing you used I couldn't get a good look at it :) Thank you so much
I will go ahead and make a short vid about the outside pen and what I do about burrowing. give me a couple days. Thanks for your comment...
Can I have a baby bunny......there sooooo cute!!!😁😁😁😁
I just let my rabbits run inside the house and around the garden
super
I have 2 female and 1 male rabbit they have big hutches to live in but have the run of my garden during the afternoons, there is plenty of cover and although I also have 7 cats which don't chase the rabbits but will guard them if anyone is visiting. I am saving up to buy a big shed to move the rabbits into before the heat of the summer months. But your idea of a dog kennel looks better I may change my mind and get a dog run fitted on the side of the shed. What is the best way to keep them warm in the winter months?
you have 7 cats?!
that's awesome
Cool rabbit cage I want one !!! Nice to see you care about animals unlike some inconsiderate douchebags in this world. good job!!
I know right
Yeah I wish I could do better for my two rabbits but I just don't have the money or the space but as soon as I move I'm gonna try build one like this
What age do you stop breeding rabbits
Are they always able to be outside in the play area? If not this is the 2nd best rabbit home I've seen, the other is a playhouse about the same size for 2 bunnies and I'm my opinion the only reason that one was better is that it was a full playhouse with no open areas for bugs to get in and windows they can see out of. I saw some comments about the interior but I really think the reason they didn't like it is because (gosh this is sexist sorry) but girls will normally go full out adding layers and layers of fleece and accessories and every toy they can find in a pet store while males even though more rare than female rabbit youtubers Always seem to go for a simple but conventional home for the rabbits.
Lily Bunns the rabbits are able to be outside and play at any time that I am home... they are only pend up turning the hours that I'm sleeping or I am at work...
How long did it take u to build
I worked on it about 1 week.
My name is Angie
this is a good approximation of underground warrens where they live in the wild
but what abt cold drafts
raise rabbits to sell as pets for theyre now no. 3 in popularity of mammal pets
dont bring condemnation on yourself which can happen to born agains
How do you keep them warm at winter?
Rabbits don't care about cold - only wind and rain.(and too much heat)
ok, but if theres at winter -20 is it okay if they are outside? Im talking about not real rabbits, about for example mini lop, holland lop and etc.
Guoda Sileikaite
Nobody should own such an animal. It serves no useful purpose.
Ramon Navarro try owning one before you say that, when you have one as a pet, just like a dog, give great companionship and entertainment
Guoda Sileikaite I was once spending my Christmas in Helsinki Finland, and one night I saw a rabbit wandering about outside in the powdery snow.
Weather was around that temperature so I'd suspect they'd be able to survive in such cold.
