I will never understand why the FFA gave Western United and Melbourne City A League licences ahead of South Melbourne. Its such a joke a profession football match with only 3,600 people in attendance.

A crowd of ONLY 3,600. Letting Western United in ahead of South Melbourne is the biggest mistake that the FFA have ever made.

Just have a look at the crowd empty seats as far as the eye can see. The majority of the stands were closed. This is such a bad look for Australian Soccer. South Melbourne deserve a spot more than half of the teams in the comp. LET SOUTH MELBOURNE BACK IN.

@@alessandrovari3127 Firstly they used to get more than 4,000 and secondly a lot has changed since then the Media actually cover Australian Soccer now, Channel 7 bought the rights then ONLY showed it at midnight as a highlights package this destroyed NSL Crowds. Secondly South Melbourne played out of an old ran down stadium that was 70% standing room. Today the South Melbourne Stadium is state of the art. Western UTD and City are both playing out of State of the Art Modern Stadiums that have had hundreds of millions spent on them despite this they cannot pull a crowd.

@Max Craven South Melbourne are the same as Port Adelaide when the AFL was formed and they were left out. Port's crowds nose fell dramatically. But when Port were finally let into the AFL their fans all came back and in fact were at all-time record high levels. People who went to South games in the NSL want to watch South play at the top level they do not want to watch them play in a 2nd tier comp.
