Hi Jack. Would you perhaps know if the VXDiag Nano works with SPS? The reason I ask is in this video when you had to select the device it didnt show Vxdiag as one of the pass thru devices in the list...
What do you select if you installed a used module that still has the junkyard vehicle vin in it? Will it over write the old vin with the cars actual vin?
If I wanted to add features say like the OEM trailer break controller will this program it or will I need a pcm then program the VIN to that?
Will this work with a generic j2534 or do you have to have an "MDI" version? How about configuration on the CANBUS?
So My 2003 H2 has an interment airbag light , I have the module and tech 2 , is the process the same for older vehicles , and what is needed to do with the doors before you can push the download to computer . Thanks
Will this do gm 1999 models ? I have cardaq 3 plus & it won't do 1999 gm suburban. Gm tech support told me to use MDI 1 .So I would like to know if this device does pre 2000 gm vehicles. Thank you

Thanks for posting this. I have the same Bosch J2534 tool I got from a buddy but haven't had a need to use it yet, when you start out on a module flash like you are doing here, do you open the Bosch file "VCI Manager" to establish the vehicle connection with the Bosch J2534 module?
Toyota Ron no. If you do connect it to the vci manager first the oem software won't recognize it. Nissan opens the vci manager but the others just need the drivers installed and I they automatically detect it. The Bosch is an awesome interface. Most people use J boxes for the toolbox 3 links and its ability to program Chrysler vins and skreem matching but most scan tools can do that as well. From my experience (and I do this daily) Bosch mvci works better with every oem software I've used. Gm, Honda ihds, ners, ford fmp, Toyota, volvo. All of them. I have a cardaq and rarely touch it. I actually have Nissan consult 3, Toyota techstream, tech2win, odis and a few others running with the mvci.
OK, thanks. Another question, how do you create the list of diagnostic tools in the Delco website, or does it come up as part of the website and you select M-VCI, which I assume is the Mastertech?
Toyota Ron yes that's the mastertech. The program searches for interface drivers on your pc and automatically adds the compatible ones to the selectable list. Once you install the mastertech drivers it will be on the list.
So If VIN Is Wrong ( Installed A BCM From Another Car) All I Need To Do Is Make Sure The VIN That My Car Has Matches So When It Reprograms The BCM It Will Write In The Correct VIN For Vehicle?
Help.. please... please.. lol. I have a complete 2013 Silverado w/ Duramax and Allison doner truck to swap the Duramax and Allison into a 2015 Yukon. I have both GM service manuals and have identified the needed wires and circuits for factory like setup BUT I got no way or idea how to make the ecu, tcu, and body control module speak nicely to each other over the canbus... I prefer a feature rich complete integration but if not the Durmax and Allison can be setup as stand alone but what about the BCM and rest of tbe Yukon? Maybe we need to talk. Maybe hire you for this. Perfer not to buy some $1k plus rig for programming to relize I dont have the know how.
Does "VCI", in the tool part number you use, stand for Vehicle Calibration Index? Are there other tools that can make use of a VCI file? Do you create the VCI file yourself - or - is it provided by GM? Is a VCI file still applicable to a 2015 GMC Sierra - or - is this a programming feature of past programming tools?
Vci just stands for vehicle communication interface. You can use almost any j2534 interface on gm vehicles. When you're oem programming a gm vehicle there is no files you can aquire. Its all real time online programming now via the sps system. The files are hosted, verified and installed directly from gm. Other vehicle makers have filed you can download and use a vci or jbox and install or update them offline. Used to be that way with the tech 2 but not anymore.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I would like to ask a couple additional questions about "VCI". I have viewed other CZcams videos on working with the ACDelcotds software. In them, I've witnessed "Normal" and "VCI" as options under the "Select Programming Type" in the SPS environment. There isn't much discussion on the VCI option in these videos. As best as I can determine, VCI stands for Vehicle Calibration Index. This index file is created for instances when a vehicles build configuration is altered from the original build configuration as spelled out in the RPO spec sheet associated with a specific VIN. In my case, I have installed power windows and mirrors, using new and used GM parts. When I approached the dealer for a program update, to access the new features, I was told that it was not possible. I have registered as a ACDelcotds user and intend to buy a j2534 tool so I can make the change myself. My question is, how do I contact GM Tech2 and petition the VCI file? Do you know if access like this will be available to me when I purchase a programming package for the SPS? Am I chasing a waterfall here? Thanks for any insight you might provide.

James Abbott not to much schooling. I come from a long line of mechanics in my family . Been working on cars since I was about 13. Worked as a mechanic the day I turned 18 for about 7 years. Started school for a couple years to become an electrical engineer and worked in i.t. during school. Had my first daughter so I had to stop commuting for work and didn't have time for night school anymore. I decided to combine the two things i was good at. Fixing cars and computer electronics. Started my own business got some certificates and it has been a blessing that keeps getting better year after year. The more computers they put in cars the more I'm in demand.

Hello my Self Nikhil Soni I am from india .I want to share my Car problem with you .I have Chevrolet Captiva 2008 2.0 LT model . Recently my Ecm Burned due over charging from alternator .I purchased an Used Ecu from market ,and installed on my car .In Service Center the Technician reprogrammed the ECU(Not Replace and Programed) and changed vin .But problem is that my car haveno boost(Or pickup) .In captivate present Electric Turbo Boost Actuator which is controlled by ECU, and errors coming P0045 ,P0047 I checked my self wiring and voltage on wiring also and actuator from inside. But no burning sign on it also it's working in confusion state .I want to know where is problem or we need to tell to dealership technician for program as replace & program ecu? Please help me because it's very risky during overtaking car on single lane highways very low pickup.
