You are so right, it shouldn´t hurt anyone if you knit buttons and make a video how you do it. It was odd to read some angry comments. I had never heard that you could knit buttons and it was interesting to see. I don´t know if I could do that but knitting is such a wonderful hobby and you can always learn new things. So thank you for shearing this.
Sewing buttons advantage is you can easily replace buttons (losing a button or just want to change them) by simply ripping them out. You can also re-tighten or loosen them if need be. I do like this idea - knitting the buttons, being that it’s exactly where buttonholes were placed, but there is another idea to put pins/stitch marker to mark the location of the buttons.
I have watched your videos for quite a while now and saw your previous lace yoked cardigan with the knit on buttons. I think it's a great idea and when I knit a cardigan I'll definitely give it a try.
