Don't even know what to do with my hair anymore
Thank you sis! I couldn't hear anything.
I know the audio is low. Unfortunately after filming the entire thing i realized my settings were off. I had the option to re-record or post... so i posted it. Please find a quiet place to listen. Please also check out the description bar as the tips are listed.
For those of you commenting that what I am doing isn't right WHY ARE YOU HERE? If you have the answer this video is NOT for you. This is for my subscribers and others that were genuinely wondering how my hair grew so quickly. I am honestly trying to help and not block you guys but if you continue to post stupid comments I will :) I put a lot of time into the things I produce and information I give so do not disrespect me. I mean that in the nicest way possible but Im not kidding.
Kimberly Cherrell
I just woke up and I felt so happy seeing this video that I waited so long on my notification bar
Tell them girl!!!
She said she doesn’t use oils on HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR hair!! If oils work great on your hair, kudos!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I have been following the ‘rules’ with the loc method and it has done NOTHING for my hair... when I tried no oils and better products and routines my hair is thriving. Again, MY hair is thriving... if you want to continue to use oils no one has a gun to your head. It’s just a video and if it’s not for you then fine but it will help someone out there, I’m proof. And please with the ‘Indians use oils to grow their hair’... Indians don’t have kinky could hair either 🙄🤷🏾♀️
tawandalashea why don’t you try lco instead ? Oil doesn’t moisturize your hair, it seals in the moisture so try leave in, cream, oil. That worked for me when I was transitioning. Now I use a cream & gel in my wash & go’s & my hair is super moisturized. I have 3C hair
tawandalashea I might try to eliminate oils for like one month to see if it prevents dryness...sounds like it might because even when you put oil on top of skin, the skin is still dry...
@@nickihatesu98 What absorbs into your hair has more to do with your hair porosity rather than what your hair texture/curl pattern is.........and Black Americans used oils in their hair long before all this other products.
Can't hear
I thought it was just me I kept clicking all the buttons lmao
It was definitely low
lol! I thought it was my computer
Louder
Washing more Frequently is a Huge YES! Natural hair needs that Water!! Don’t wait till your scalp is on Fire to wash it...Also I use a scalp brush to wash my hair while holding my hair in sections! Less breakage & Shedding! Side Note:(Wash & Gos is my Life)
Great tips! I've been washing my hair 2 to 3 times a week...
game changer. I let the water run on my strands for 5 minutes before shampooing to ensure the water fills my hair strands. I also let the water penetrate my strands for 5 minutes before adding my leave-in and styling products.
Rubyred USA omg yes!!! Letting your Hair just sit under water is a life changer all on its own
Do you use shampoo 2 to 3 times per week?
Rubyred USA how often do you deep condition?
@@annecuthers5723 Weekly...but I also run conditioner in my hair mid-week when co-washing but I only leave it in for 5 minutea.
Right my hair takes to long to get fully wet Bc it’s low porosity 😂
Yes girl...I'm loving how detailed you're getting with all the info you're giving...I'm loving it.
#4 STOP USING OILS??? * *Cries castor oil tears* *😭
Amor Antasia 😭 noooo
🤣🤣🤣🤣
She made a video a while back about not using oils anymore and around that time I was already thinking that too myself. It wasn’t sealing in the moisture like everyone says instead it started blocking moisture. So I stopped using oils after I saw that video and let me tell you... I don’t regret it.
I am so happy I could help. That video got so much back lash but I am happy to hear it helped you. XO
😂
Video is very low... can hardly hear
My volume is literally up to the max
And on my TV I have to put it on 40....that's loud af
Good tips! Mo spoke the truth!
I’m so glad you made this video because I actually started doing this a month a so ago and I totally agree with all steps. In one month I’ve notice the difference. Finger detangling has be life changing. And water is the key. I was nervous that I was washing my hair too much but this is the confirmation I needed. Ty.
Lol I need to wait till the video ends and stop commenting but I can't....! I can't say which is my absolute favorite tip, because I definitely can attest to ALL these tips. I am 4 years in and this is my basic routine. However, numbers 4,5,and 6 are definitely game changers. I stopped using oil within the first 3 months of my hair journey after my big chop because my hair was always dry, frizzy, to the point I thought I had a different curl pattern. My go to style has been a wash and go. Every other thing pretty much causes way to much manipulation for me, and I mean even the "OUTS" . Great video girl!
Seriously , she’s correct I’ve stopped putting oils in my hair and I wash my hair More often my hair has grown ALOT❤️ thanks for the hair care tips
Thank you for sharing your hair growth tips! I incorporate a few of those in my regimen and have noticed a big difference in the health of my hair in the past month. Although sound was low, I was able to hear and understand you clearly. 😊 Thanks for posting! Happy belated birthday!
Renee McDaniel thank youuuuu!!!
I've been natural 3 years & I've NEVER wore & Wash n Go.. But you have motivated me to try it & to perfect it.. THANK YOU 😊
The only thing I miss about transitioning my hair was being able to physically see the new growth coming in.💔 Great video as always Kim!
Thanks for all your tips here Kim, very helpful, and ALSO for recommending Moknowshair video. Truly expert advice.
And Yaaaaasss “Your hair growth is on fleek”!!!💁🏽
Love this!!!! Always so informative. And I needed this cause I have been struggling lol. Thanks!
OH MY GOSH! I knew there was a reason i found you on social media! When i say my natural hair story is the EXACT SAME AS MINES?! 9-12 perm and just decided to stop once my hair broke off SO bad . I wore sew-ins for a year to grow it back, got it cut into a blunt cut, but suffered from heat damage! I JUST got to the point where I’m getting satisfied with my curls! Now I’m working on length retention so your tips came right on time. Thank you so much!
Great tips and the light blow out is beautiful - gorgeous girl!
First of all why are you STUNNING!!??! 😍😍
Yes please could you do a video on how you wrap your hair and if you have tips on how to wrap shorter hair that would be amazing! great video as always!
I started watching your videos about 2 days ago, and OMG, YOU ARE MY FAVE!
My hair has definitely been growing, but I honestly don't know how, because somewhere along the way I've gotten far too lazy. And I just wanted to say, watching your videos gives me so much hair goals! I've actually decided I'm going to try a wash 'n' go for the FIRST time. :D
Happy birthday beautiful girl.🎁🎂😘 you look much younger. I so appreciate all the videos and advice. Your hair is bey.😊
Your hair looks so beautiful 😍
This is what beauty looks like! 😍
I think all of these things, with the exception of the wash n gos, can work for people that do twist outs. You are absolutely right about all of the techniques you mentioned. I do the majority of them, but I have not mastered the wash n go. I just do the twist out so I won’t have to walk around looking crazy 😜. My hair has definitely grown. Especially since I took your advice about adding your leave-in the shower. That made a major difference. I will start back trying the wash n go once the weather warms up and hopefully my hair cooperates. Thanks for all your tips and tricks girlfriend.
Hey girl hey! We have a similar routine. I’m glad I finally found a natural who isn’t “lazy” with her #realhair, bc laziness has never been my thing! Also HAPPY BELATED BDAY! 💛😜🤗🎂
Dimma Kalu awww thanks!!! Lol I’m glad i have a subbie that isn’t lazy either 😁 let’s growwww
“Practice makes perfect”. Yes to that!
Thank you soooooo much for this video! Super helpful and I know I learned a lot! I will be implementing these steps ASAP! 😊
Yass okay boo! Dont hesitate to ask if you have questions
Kim is so right when it comes to wash and go’s. I did twist outs on my hair religiously until one day I attempted a WAG and it came out BOMB. I’ve been hooked ever since. She is telling the truth, you do not touch your hair as much when you do WAGs. My curl definition is on point and it looks so much more effortless than a twist out.
TFS and ur hair looks beautiful. Btw the sound was low but I heard everything u said thou.☺
Beauty Bee awww thank you love!!!
Kimberly Cherrell 💝😊
Great video Kim, I really enjoyed watching and listening to this, your hair is gorgeous and the tips were on point. Thank you SO much for sharing. ❤
Thank you!! Let me know if these tips work for you
If your hair is dry, and it’s STILL dry after “sealing in the moisture”, then you should stop using raw oils because they’re making your hair repel water. If your hair can handle raw oils, then cool beans, keep using them! But constantly covering your hair with oil will eventually lead to dryness and could be the cause of your dryness. All you need is a leave in tbh to moisturize your hair. Piling a leave in with oils does nothing but cause build up, which then repels water. If your leave in can’t be used alone, then it’s time to try a different brand. WATCH THAT MO KNOWS HAIR VIDEO; she indeed explains this well!
Are you talking to me or everyone else? Bc my subbies know I DO NOT USE OILS lol
Kimberly Cherrell No! Lol!! to the people that was tryna get salty with you for saying the truth!
Lol ohhhh ok! They always salty so don’t pay them any attention love. But this detailed write up is ERRTHANGGG ❤️
It took me a long time to learn this.
I didn’t know this bc everyone else is like, “use oils to seal in moisture.” For a little while, it did work, but I’m starting to notice more dryness so thank you for sharing this bc it’s true and for the ones who are getting upset for telling the truth, I don’t understand why bc you’re helping out, but oh well. 🤷🏽♀️ Thanks for the tea, sis!❤️
Another good one!!
Happy Birthday Fellow Leo!
Mine was Aug 1.
I celebrate the entire month of August ALWAYS!!
Alita Ford lol okayyyy! That is so me. My homegirl and i are going to the Beyoncé concert the end of Aug to continue celebrating 😝
😀Okay, found it!!!
*left question on older video*
💝You led me to it right here👍🏽
Happy belated birthday!🎊❤️🌸
Thank you
Happy Birthday ❤️ your hair looks amazing
Yaaaaasssss honeeeyyy...hair growth on fleeeek... I love you Kim. I was happy the day I found your channel.
Bless up yuh self. JM🔰
Thanks!!!!! I needed this!
Honestly I love this video! Thank you for sharing this info!! You're the first person I've seen who says no oils!! I only use coconut oil but I'm thinking about when my hair was long and curly and I wasnt using oils but everyone was telling me I need to. So I appreciate you adding that part in because my haor was much much longer before I was using oils. Of course ive cut my hair since but I've noticed all the issues around using it on a daily! Thank you thank you! And I'm so glad ive subscribed to your channel
Yes! A lot of ppl don't want to hear it since we are so use to using oils but it has changed my life after elimination. So glad you enjoyed it!!!
I just love you! I’m so glad I found you! 🥰
Girrrrl when you said you'll wrap your hair before you'll take off your make up I felt that!! This makeup can wait but my hair can't
I’ve been learning to be more consistent with wash n gos grl the journey is real lol I literally vowed this summer not to do a protective style to just let my hair be and my hair totally loved me for it!!! Looking forward to seeing your video on training your curls because some parts of my hair just won’t stay defined it gets like a fro after drying my wash n go!! Any tips for that? Do you have a video on your winter wash n go routine because I’m a New Yorker and winters are real out here! Much love grl love all you stand for😍😉
Monique C hey honey... as for your Hair looking defined after drying try adding more products to that area or revamping your routine just in that area.
#realhair i came across your channel and out of all the other natural channels out there, I'm more drawn to yours. I am trying to catch up by watching all your other videos. Ive been natural for 2 years and I have failed to fully educate myself so your videos have been helping me ALOT!! Thanks a million and I will be trying the wash and go method and Definelty cut the oil use because I do realize that no matter how much oil I put on my scalp, it was still extremely dry.
Hey hon... thanks for your awesome videos.. u are literally the person that made me to embrace my natural hair journey and treat it right and guurrllll the change is AMAZING. I finally figured out the wash and go after trying a zillion times. Also I am in my 6th week of moisture training my 4c hair and it’s amazing... I have an appointment with a certified deva curl specialist tomorrow and am supper excited. Thanks hon... pls keep up and I am loving the journey... 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yesss! I love to hear that. I love a good Deva cut 😍😍
I started cowashing midweek between shampoos because I work out regularly and wanted to refresh my hair and scalp. My hair loves the extra hydration and I'm improving my wash and go technique. I have to figure out how this will work during the cold Chicago winters though.
#realhair low manipulation is really so good for your natural hair! My protective styles have allowed my hair to grow a lot and get wayyyyyy healthier
Your gorgeous girl, thanks for the vid !
Another great video! I am loving the whole washing my hair more often thing! and detangling has become a breeze since I've started. My hair is pretty short but still. It took me literally 3 minutes today.
This video came right on time ! I’m BIG on protective styling . I take my bundles and closures and I make them into wigs with my hair fully covered , but I feel like my hair isn’t getting properly moisturized throughout the week since I do sew down my wigs . So I think I’m going to try some clip ins where I’ll get the extra volume and length while being able to get to my hair easily .
Happy belated birthday to my fellow Leo 🎂🍾🥂💰💰💰❤❤
Heeyyy ima leo too
Your hair blow-dried out is beautiful sis!!! Do you have any tips on how to take care of and style your hair while in this stage??
Straight and to the ponit video. Also.......Happy belated Bday...fellow LEO! Keep up the good work!
Clatoshia thank you loveeee
Thank you for this video I really needed to hear this as I start this natural hair journey, your videos have really given me some insights on Do’s and Don’ts! Now I just have to perfect my wash n go’s first one didn’t goes so well!😄
Interesting idea about oils and wash and go's. I have not perfected wash and gos. I have fine strands and i dont get the volume i like. The oil thing makes sense too. Im just going to see how it works for me. I usually apply to my ends. To ease up the friction of my hair on my clothes.
Training your hair video i been waiting for that!
Also your 28😮 girl you look fab! Thought u where younger!! Hope u enjoyed ya bday!
Hello Kimberly I didn't go to the link until just now. Thank you.
Your videos are the best!!!
Beautiful hair. Great video.
These tips are the truth. I’ve been natural for a while, but I got a tapered cut last October. I started washing my hair two times a week and it’s almost grown back.
I do everything you said in this video already and I'm 8 months post big chop and my hair is to my collar home and shrinks to my neck. ☺I also drink 32oz of water, refills four times during the day. I'm low porosity high density type 3 hair. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Great video! Very thorough and well done as usual #realhair
Great tips. I wear wash and go’s frequently I wash my hair twice a week deep condish once a week, and protein treatment once a month. I was born with high porosity hair and my hair likes protein and I have hardly no shedding and my hair is growing and getting thicker
I liked this video. I think it’s nice you didn’t say certain products made your hair grow because I think people get confused and believe that products are the key when it really is your routine
Love the video quality
Heeeeyyy! Your channel is life sis. I went a head a wrote down some notes lol wish me luck girl! #realhair
Good Morning Beautiful I Definitely Will Try More Wash&Go's I Luv Them Plus Your Hair Got Longer And Its Beautiful Thank U For This Tutorial💕💕💕💕💜💜💜💜
Yesss they get better as you learn what your hair likes. BUT what your hair likes will change so be sure to test different methods.
Over the shoulder look with the bob bob
#realhair I was a little nervous about washing my hair frequently throughout the week! I always thought that it would promote breakage due to too much manipulation, BUT this is why I watch your videos 😩 always reassuring and great tips. I'm definitely going to try to stop using oils as well or at least lessen how often I use them. I can't wait to see results! Thank you 💕
Jorde' Le'Schelle 😘 you’re welcome. I use to think washing frequently would be too much until i just happen to start. Having a clean scalp is a major key!!!
Jorde' Le'Schelle honestly I think the natural hair community is so afraid of our hair drying out we actually end up drying out our hair. The reason why we think we have breakage from washing our hair is because our hair be so dry because we haven't washed it in 1-3 weeks and we've put so many butters and oils that our hair is just soooo dry. So many people have said when they started to wash their natural hair more it took less and less time and their hair held onto moisture better. White people wash their hair multiple times a week and their hair grows no effort lol. Then we fool ourselves and "protective style", which causes so much manipulation to install and we cant even access our hair when the style is in. I currently wash once a week but this video has me interested in stepping it up to every 3-5 days.
Anne Cuthers see, I've never thought about that. You put it in terms that made me really look at my hair like "OMG, I've been thinking about everything so wrong lol" I wash my hair once a week as well, but every 3-4 days don't sound so bad!
*watching this while doing a oil pre poo* 💀 I’m hurt
Omg I’ve been saying and I’ve been doing all of the thinks you do already 😂 I never use oil, only do wash n gos, only finger detangles, wash my hair every 3 days, ect 💯
I love 💕 your videos!!!
I can vouch for the finger detangling becoming easier for and on your hair over time! I was sooo against finger detangling because it didn’t seem to wrk, my hair just wasn’t used to it. But once I learned how to finger my hair and press and twist out tangles my hair totally submitted. Give it a try and keep trying it!!
#realhair love the tips. Love your hair, omg! Thanks for sharing!
Omg this was so me, I was horrible at them and I literally was so determined and focus and I think I've begun to master it. Of course I did originally went to see Mo and she got me started. And I watch her videos religiously. I also invested in the products she used and recommended. I am trying to get to a place where I can wash it every 5 days, but my hair has gotten so much better and it's been 9 months since she last cut it. and I'm going to her in jan to get it trimmed. So i agree with your video. And I wash once a week but I am working towards washing every 5 days and I love washing my hair now, where as before I dreaded it.
#realhair Your hair looks amazing!!!❤️
#realhair I love your hair ! I think my hair is similar to yours but mines is on the dry side, But hearing your tips actually makes sense especially the washing your hair often one. I always thought that washing your hair once a week was more than enough but hearing you say to wash it every time it feels dry really might increase the moisture level in my hair. Great video really loved it!!
I have a serious love hate relationship with wash n go’s. Doing them to much gives me the absolute worse single strand knots. But when I did them a lot when I first big chopped my hair did grow a lot because I had to wash it every 3 days so it didn’t get to dry and be a tangle mess. But I’m trying to get back into them.
One Smart Fro i know its crazy time consuming but i find shingling decreases ssks... i think its bc you are smoothing each strand and i could be wrong but thats what it seems like to me.
beau knows88 I give that a try. Because I’m definitely looking for better methods so that I can start wearing them regularly.
When I tried the *maximum hydration method* my hair did a whole 360 lol W&G's were no longer the enemy for me. I could also rock the W&G for like a week I'd say. Truly amazing and I only did the MHM for 3 days not the whole 7 days. I even saw great results on day 1 so at least try it for 1 day if 7 seem like too much 😊
gel isn't an efficient sealant. You will eventually deal with matting within your individual curl units if you keep cleansing your hair w/o using oils. Its about knowing how o use it. Try grease. Blue magic indian hemp. I also refresh on old hair w a spray bottle and stretch wash days to once a month, banding my hair under a silk scarf under wig when I go out, but my curls are defined from root to tip because I trained them so I'm able to get perfect definition just by smoothing LCG in, even if its on old hair that I haven't washed in weeks. ALL of the type 4 naturals I know that have waist length to tail bone length hair do biweekly or at least weekly LCO/G. I'm retaining tons of length doing LCG 2x a week on old hair, and on washdays using a real shampoo. I have 4c hair btw. I did MHM in the past and it let me know that my fine hair doesn't like manipulation, and that gel doesn't provide the protective barrier my hair needs. I use grease and that stopped knots and matting completely. Literally all my hair issues are solved.
L- liquid (herb tea water/any herb powder strained in water/conditioner and water/rice water/etc)
C- water based cream (no alcohol, no mineral oil unless exclusively for remoisturizing AFTER wash day. hydrating is different from moisturizing. anything you put on your hair after shampoo is hydrating., no silicones, no hydrolyzed protein) I like soft and beautiful botanicals hair masque or their leave in.
G- grease (blue magic indian hemp)
w b I don’t use gel well eco styler gel for sealing purposes but to define my curls after layering my products.
#realhair I definitely always take your hair advice and I have seen a huge difference! Will definitely be writing these downs and stay on top of it.
#realhair I love watching your video's. Keep them COMING!
#realhair your growth is amazing! I don’t really like using oils in my hair either. It makes my hair so greasy and my hair ends up dry by wash day. I like whipped mango butter but that’s usually in the winter when I really need to repel that cold air or reduce friction on my scarves and sweaters. If I use butters in my wash n go, it seems that my hair is softer and has less of that gel cast so that basically depends on my mood lol
Love it 😍
#realhair thanks for the tips!! I’m on a hair growth journey 😅
#realhair your hair has flourished!
I love your videos!
😂 that silent “put that bonnet on” had me rolling
Great tips. # Real hair
#realhair Sis, I know i'm late but only because i'm now finding your channel new subscriber!!!!
I love your videos
Happy belated Birthday♌️♥️🌹
okayyyy , come through
I just subscribed!! Can you do a video about all your favorite products?? Thank you ❤️
dakotah nicholas i already did. Check
The description bar love
I love u huni ur so funny and Thanku for the information 😘❤️
Great tips! I find that washing my hair frequently helps to make finger detangling easier because your hair is not sitting for long periods of time getting dry and tangled because you are detangling it when you wash your hair every few days. The longer your hair goes unwashed the more hair I feel you'll lose during wash day. Water is def my friend it revives my hair in a second especially warm water. I always thought oils were my friend I do the LCO method and that always seemed to keep my hair moisturized, then I'm like well maybe if I use more moisturizing products my hair wouldn't need oil to stay moisturized lol. Also I'm so glad you mentioned wash and go's as a low maintenance hairstyle, that is all I wear and at one time it seemed everyone was saying you need to keep your hair tucked away doing protective styles to grow your hair and I was like well I'm only good at wash and go's sooo lol. I feel like it can def. be a low maintenance style because my hair grown just fine with wearing wash and go's majority of the time, and like you said I keep my hands out of my hair after I style it and protect it at night with a bonnet or satin pillowcase.
Yep if you do a wash n go correctly you wont touch it until your next wash day. You don't comb it nor is there strain on your hair. :)
I've been trying to do more wash and go's as well ..can u do a video on how u preserve it during the week. Thanks
#realhair I mainly do wash'n'go's but my single strand knots has me doing more buns. I have more of a 4b type of hair and just dont have time redo my wash'n'go midweek anymore.
#realhair. I love these tips. This video was right on time, Thank you💖 I was thinking about washing/deep conditioning every 5 days or so, because my hair loves being under running water. Im 4a, high porosity, fine strands. So that tip has helped me make my decision. Its been a week and 2 days since I washed my hair, so I just decided to remoisturized it instead of washing it but that made it greasy. So I think its just best to start the wash day process over every 5 days, that way im getting actual moisture and not product on top of product.
Vanessa Williams yasss exactly!!! You’re welcome!!
@@KimberlyCherrell 💗💗💗
Vanessa Williams I also try to wash every 5 days but sometimes i slack off. I'm going to start again with washing every 5 days!
@@LinzeyLiNO right, I just finished my wash day
Vanessa Williams Well done sis!🙌🏿🙌🏿
I am with you on everything, except that finger detailing 😳 LORD! Me and my tangle teezer are friends!
About wash n go’s!!! Let 👏 me 👏 tell 👏 you 👏! When I do my hair in wash n go’s every 3-4 days, it flourishes and grows the best!
And no oil! Yup! Oil had me thinking I had heat damage. Curls looked like waves
And, happy belated birthday 🎁
You gave me diana Ross vibes in this video baby!!🤩🤩
