- This is a short video about the British Army's Light MRAP, Foxhound. Developed for the war in Afghanistan it's one of the most interesting and arguably unique MRAPs in service today.

This is vehicle is the coolest looking Mrap
I helped build these when I worked at Ricardo at Shoreham Airport. The factory on the other side made the Maclaren F1 engines...
Keep it up
Nice one
Very successful vehicle in Afghanistan.
and shield fer the gun .like challenger two when it came out no shield for loaders gun .
Subbed
Does it not seem like UK should have putting an armor shield for the pental machine guns?
Yeah, I feel the same way. but there might have been design issues with that. Or maybe they were just lazy.
@@chrisjones2224 🤣 Fair point
@@ImminentDefence Stop and think, what's involved, what the vehicle was designed for.
@@chrisjones2224 Hey Chris,
Thanks for the comment. I've seen you've left a few others and I assume you have some form of close up experience with the Foxhound.
I'd love to know what the reason is behind the lack of gun shields and how their presence may inhibit the vehicle in combat situations.
Feel free to reply to this comment or drop me an email. You can find the address on the channel page.
Thanks for the comment either way :)
What is the different between light and heavy armored vehicles?

1:15 please indicates with km/h, not uncivilized mph.
What role sits on top
From what I can tell the "top cover" roles change from unit to unit based on their SOP. But as there don't seem to be permanently assigned gunners and drivers I believe it's just someone from a Section/Squad who sits up their and then optionally dismounts with the rest.
@@ImminentDefence no one sits up there, there isn't a seat
LPPV eecm ctis terafix ... bring back the Husky
Target practice for rpgs 😂😂😂
These foxhound brake down all the time, we were in castle Martin and 2 miles in to going home and they brake down.
Bad workman always blames his tools
@@chrisjones2224?
@@kieranblaxill883 who's fault is it they break down?
Bull shit
I know I’m coming to this quite late but why the fuck are we buying American?
Can’t we buy British for once?
Hey, so bit of an update.
The JLTV order seems to have been cancelled or never went through. Meaning we aren't buying American for now.
Bigger problem is that we don't really have indigenous MRAP industry as much anymore beyond Foxhound. But since that is getting a fair bit of development atm there is a decent chance it might get pegged for some bits of the original JLTV contract.
Vu qu’il a rencontré un grand succès et qu’il est fiable … qu’il doit être remplacé , pourquoi ne pas envoyer ce stock en Ukraine ? Un matériel sérieux et performant pour des gars qui ont en besoin
A million pound a pop for this overpriced useless vehicle. You can get 4 JLTV or 6 Humvee Sabres for the same price. MOD are a complete bunch of clowns wasting money like this. AE Engineering had the solutions for all our vehicles and we end up with more cancelled projects wasting more money.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
