It was by watching this show in 1997 that I became addicted to the Monkees as an adult (after watching them as a kid). I've been collecting their material and recording their series ever since. This show is delightful.
I became a Monkees fan through this show. I was only 11 years old when it came on tv. I watched it with my mom. The part that has always stuck into my head was when they were at the beach. They were all so darn cute and so much fun. They forever captured my heart
I was laughing so hard at this! they r so funny!! "THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!" *Laugh track goes off* "People are starving" *Laugh track* "There is no fruit!" *Laugh track* ........... I just thought that part was so funny and when they were trying to cheer up the kid "Hey kid, wanna see me throw up? Hehehe" "YEAH!" funny monkee stuff!!
Great new version of "Circle Sky"; much better than the original. If the Monkees don't get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, there's something SERIOUSLY wrong here. They deserve to be in there. They are that good.
It's an inferior version of Circle Sky. Its a terrible show too. Excruciating to watch. You can't recreate magic. No wonder this disappeared without a trace.
I knew of the TV series and music, but not of this reunion episode until I discovered it! My mum and dad grew up with this stuff including The Undertones, The Jam, Billy Idol, Hermans Hermit's, Queen, Seeleye span, Enya and more, as being kids of the 1960's! They also shared this music with us ( me, my bother and sister) eve though not of that generation.
I remember watching this when it aired in 97. It was... weird, but had its moments. I wonder if I taped it? I might have. Will have to check my unmarked old VHS tapes sometime and look.
Thanks! I never knew these even existed until I heard they were touring this year! Wish you had 1/5 and 4/5, but oh well..I'll take what I can get, thanks!
I love how they all have at least one trait from when they were younger. Davy has his same accent and kind of simmalar hair. Micky still has his same humor and eyes. Peter still has his hair simmalar. Mike still has his teeth exactly how they were in the 60s.
This is better than the link. Thanks for sharing. The VEOH link had a use of personal info disclosure you had to accept, then gave me nothing but a blank screen. (Opening an account may have been required.) A posted comment asked why there was no sound. I didn't appreciate the salacious ad either. The special incomplete, posted in parts is better. Thank you!
Anyone know why I can't view the part 4/5 segment? It says it has been blocked for copyright issues? Thanks for posting this though! I never knew it existed. I LOVE this!!!!
Mike and Peter running into the water at the beach, it not the same, but it does remind me of their good old days, I like that.
This has got to be the best reunion special ever made. It's a hilarious and loving tribute
They do look like they are having fun
I love these guys and I am so sad that it is an end of an era

I was 11 years old too and first saw it during the 1986 MTV Monkees marathon!!! Loved them ever since! :)
"The house is on fire!" *laughtrack*
"People are starving!" *laughtrack*
"There is NO fruit!" *laughtrack*
I know. Davy was a good man, and he literally saved my life numerous times. In other words he was and is hero in every sense of the word.
Circle Sky was probably the closest they came to Heavy Metal. It’s an obscure song from Head, but is my favorite Monkees song.
Should listen to their song called "Admiral Mike". Heaps heavier than this
I wonder how old they all were when they did this! They all look amazing around this time 💖🎸🙊🙉🙈🐵
I looked it up. In their 50's.
Peter and Mike 55 Davey and Mickey 52
@@kpax45 Davy & Micky
Still amazed that this hasn't been released commercially.Pick up a bootleg copy a year or two ago just so I could replace my VHS copy that I wore out.
"People are starving!!"
I laughed hard, for ages, at that.
Still and always great!
Mike Nesmith and the Broken Laugh Track needed its own series!

the laugh track scene cracked me up!
Thanks for sharing. Didn't get a chance to see it the first time!
Peter's laugh at 3:41 is absolutely genuine.
was thinking that as well. :)
yes it was
It definitely was
I think that was his WTF moment....LOL
Juliana Brown Yeah, me three. Mickey cracked him up

Peter: I'm starting to get thought balloons.
ROFL!
I never knew they made these...LOVE THE MUSIC> Thanks for uploading it.
I hate that it took one of them to die for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to "consider" induction.
The Monkees were just great! If Mike had put on the wool cap ,I would have lost it!
I love these guys!!!!
I like the cynical expression on Micky's face when he shoves Davy off the platform during wild appaulse.
it's a look straight from the 60s!
Mike and the laugh track was funny! Hahahaha!
loved this special wish it were on dvd

So, did you tape it?!!??! :)
This is an awesome tv special I wish they released it on dvd
Thanks so much for making this .I grew up with the Moneys I was 8 when I started to sing LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVLLE
The little song Davy sings is the bomb 💣
“And THIS! Is the TRANSMISSION from the Monkeemobile!”
Awesome tune ,and the dawg goes perfectly!
Thanks! I never knew these even existed until I heard they were touring this year! Wish you had 1/5 and 4/5, but oh well..I'll take what I can get, thanks!
Mike: the house is on fire! :D
*laughter*
Mike: people are starving! :D

RIP DAVY JONES.
I love this and The Monkees !
"people are starving!" Mike is crazy
THERE IS NO FRUIT! *laugh track plays*
pete and mike look only a few years different than their prime years!!!
I think it is Pete and Micky..The others lost their astounding looks!! seriously.
this was the year i became a monkees fan but never heard of this episode
People, that Circle Sky version was used in Justus.
So download the entire album.
Now.
I love this version of Circle Sky. Nice music vid!
i like that they use the original recording of last train to clarksville
Never knew they did this. Maybe should’ve got a couple of comedy writers. That’s cool at least they all got together and did it.
I love how they all have at least one trait from when they were younger.
Davy has his same accent and kind of simmalar hair.

Peter still has his hair simmalar.

tHATS A GREAT SONG THEY MADE......NEED TO DOWN LOAD IT. LOVE IT.
well I think this is a 10/10 especially those that remember the 60's version
It's kinda interesting how Mike plays a Fender guitar instead of his 12-string Gretsch.
I mean, they're not dressed in their monkees outfits either. wasn't supposed to be an exact recreation.
Mister Moonlight But I would have loved to see him with the Gretsch. After all this show was an ode to The Monkees.
He has multiple guitars
It was only aired one time on ABC. They essentially wanted to promote their newest album. Did you ever see the movie Head?
LOLOLOL!!!!
Davy made me laugh so hard at 8:30!
I love these guys so much!
Thanks for posting!
@8:30 I laughed so hard at Davy:)
Eternos meninos, amo,amo,amo
Aww micky lays on mike's shoulder. Isn't that cute?
Davy and mike are so cute here !
Thanks for posting this!!! I missed it!!!
I love this
And this is the transmission to the Monkeemobile. 😄
Classic Monkees.
LOL. Davy quoting his ex-girlfriend Sally Field. "You like me, you really like me!"
Thanks for posting

I believe that is a 1997 Green Carvin B5 Bass Guitar that Peter Tork is playing. This is a 5 string bass.
i like it...first time hearing this song....the Monkees do grunge
Pete's timing is exactly the same
Anyone know why I can't view the part 4/5 segment? It says it has been blocked for copyright issues? Thanks for posting this though! I never knew it existed. I LOVE this!!!!
i have seen head. i just need this episode to complete my collection

0:46 There is No Fruit!

Micky: Wanna see me throw up?
Boy: Yeah! Lol!
Any chance of uploading the whole thing? I'm sure it was on here at some point but parts 1 & 4 were taken down. :( :(
Love it but I wish I could see all of it
The stock footage idea was originally on The Young Ones, Which was similar to The Monkees.
There is no fruit! lol
When did Davy start playing the guitar? Looking for maracas and tambourine.
loved this special is it on dvd?
the house is on fire!
yay!
Wow, learned something new! Thanks :)
Was that Fleagle from Banana Splits in the TV screen in Circle Sky?
Great group!!! There's only 1 drummer who can sing!!! & that's Mickey Dolenz!!!!!!!!
Peter criss and eric singer of kiss can sing as well
@@josephturner3360 your right there too ! I didn't think of that !!! Thnx

When I went to the site, only the first minutes could be watched, not the whole show. Am I missing how to watch the rest?
Interesting to see the MTV look which Mike arguably fathered. I'm guessing this was very intentional.
Wooo Hooo!! ROFL!
@solidfoamsoul It's player called Veho. Never heard of it. Vemo is an embeded player like CZcams's.
every saturday
It's kind of like head.
is it just me or does the dog look kinda like Jasper T. Jowls from Chuck E. Cheese?
8:23 Uh Where!?
@Chiselnyc Apparently you have to install Vemo to watch the rest? Sorry I wasn't aware of this. Must be a new thing!

Who writes that stuff.
Yes, its referred to as a Beanie...english saying...look it up
Yeah, but his name was Wool hat
7:45 Bacon
7:48
People are starving!
Does any one else see the left foot peg foot?
Wool hat.
I see why Nez avoided the reunion stuff for so long. This just doesn't look good. Middle aged guys just can't pull it off.
LOL Nez wrote and directed this thing.
@@LaraLeeCupcake
Yeah. He caved. Lol.
I liked the Monkees and watched the original airing of the shows, but this is just dumb. I expected more after all the years.
What the hell is this episode
Mike needs some dental work.
