Why does my INAV plane keep crashing in ANGLE or HORIZON mode?

Hi there Lee…great coverage. On my first iNav build, I had my plane flying great because I watched your beginner series. I started to tweak some settings and wanted to get more throw on my elevator and reversed my settings on the radio…auto launch took me straight into the ground. So yes!!!! NEVER REVERSE YOUR RADIO SETTINGS lol. 🎉

The problems that pop out of nowhere are the hardest ones to troubleshoot and search.
Have you done a telemetry to update wirelessly vid? Like elrs airport or mavlink thing. thanks

Great video, however, if two of your Chanel maps go down and not up when you push sticks to the upper right, how does one go about correcting that? The only way I have discovered is to reverse servos on radio which is a no-no. Thank you.
Channel maps? I'm not sure if I understand. Radio channels should move as shown. If not then change the channel direction settings on the radio to make them all move in the right direction. See my INAV setup series if you are confused.... Best of luck

I don't use flight cards full stop because it ruins the feel and the fun, you should be flying just using the 4ch receiver, at our flying club most bad crashes are assist or flight controller problems, I fly fpv wings, Ef racers, cirrus 6ch, obviously drones of all types
Great to hear that works for you. I fly in MANUAL a lot here to 'get INAV out of the way' for normal flying but it provides autolaunch, a rich OSD for FPV and a solid RTH feature in the event of an issue. The cool thing about the hobby is that, so long as you are flying responsibly and not hurting anyone, there is no wrong way to do it! Happy flying!

I couldn't keep a fixed wing in the air without the help of Inav/ardupilot when I first took up the hobby, it save me from, A. wrecking my plane that I spent a lot of hours building from plans on the first flight. B. becoming totally disheartened with multiple crashes and wrecks and giving up. C. the option of having a "oh shit" switch if you are in trouble the fixed wing or quad will circle or hold position while you recompose then retake control and countless other benefits that my learning curve/experience of learning to fly was much safer for all including the general public. I now fly 99% of the time in full manual mode apart from auto launch as it's much safer when you're on your own throwing a fixed wing in the air. As to the crashes being caused by a flight controller at your flying club it's more than likely a combination of a badly set up flight controller and pilot error. This attitude towards flight controlled fixed wings/quads/drones is the main reason I didn't join my local clubs due to the "balsa brigade attitude" of its members.
Always sad to hear of pilots who don't feel welcome at a local R/C clubs due to a old fashioned, parochial idea of what the 'hobby' should be.
Those clubs that don't welcome and embrace the new blood of young pilots will die out as no-one will be there to fly when the balsa generation isn't able to any-more. As a result, ALL local pilots will lose access to those valuable flying areas thanks to that short-sighted mindset of some RC flying clubs.
I pleased to report that a lot of 'more evolved' flying clubs do welcome the modern hobby (foam planes/wings, multirotors, flight controllers and FPV) and the older pilots are getting to experience some fun, cool new stuff that the modern hobby provides. Those clubs that don't embrace it and move with the times, are doomed.
From my own experience, I've always has a very positive reaction from mature pilots after trying out FPV. If someone is willing to try it, then don't like it - fair enough. It is the wholesale condemnation of technology that some clubs have (when they probably haven't tried it or understood it) is where I have an issue.
Please keep the comments supportive on the channel. The RC hobby is a broad church... Just my 2 cents.
