    In 2024 I purchased this bag. Being in Afghanistan for 8 years, I carried the MOAB 10 and it was all I needed going from FOB to FOB. The MOAB 6 at first was disappointing because i was having the same issues you mentioned here on the video. The bag wasn't packed full so i couldn't understand why it just didn't sit right on my back. Adjusting the belt a few times here and there I found the sweet spot to carry. And it sits perfectly on my back without all the issues before. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for the comment Ben. Nowhere else have I seen anyone wear it like you are saying, even 5.11's own video of the bag is not shown wearing the way you are saying. That being said YOU ARE RIGHT. I just tried what you are saying and it fits much nicer. I will try to make a video showing this way for people who have the bag. Thanks again.

    Good video and an honest review. It might be a "manner of wear" issue or it might fit other bodytypes differently. You said you were a fan of 5.11 bags and you called it as you saw it. I will be picking up three additional 5.11 bags and the MOAB 6 will be one of them. Keep making excellent videos and keep sharing your experiences. I will take an honest review I don't agree with over a sales pitch any day. Well done. Scott

    It's a great review I have found being as small as I amI can tighten the bag up to where the little pouch is actually on my shoulder and the pack rides exactly as it should

  • @melaniexoxo

    I just got one of these and I have exactly the same problem. If you load it up to capacity its like that... even when its not full its like that as well.
    I could see carrying it by the handle mostly but as a sling its pretty uncomfortable

  • @tacticalveterinarian
    @tacticalveterinarian Před 9 lety +1

    I agree, I also found sling bags to be very uncomfortable around my neck. I constantly kept switching sides or holding the strap. I prefer the Rush 12 or 24 backpacks

  • @Jeffnismoser
    @Jeffnismoser Před 5 lety +6

    It is suppose to be higher on your back so tighten the strap more and for added support I used the strap attachment on the other side and I added a 1.5 inches stabilizer strap and it makes a world of difference on the stability for carrying like on the maxpedition sling seires they all have the stabilization strap. But I prefer 5.11 because of the piggy back system and I prefere the conceal carry pouch on the moab pack I have the 6 (edc) and the 10 (get home bag) and they are extremely effective and confortable. I don't know why you guys wear them so low it is not a messenger bag or a man purse it's a sling bag! it is suppose to hang in the middle of the back! like a backpack but with 1 shoulder strap

    i got one last year it has awesome organisation but
    as you said its uncomfortable for carrying on your back
    i call it (( the EDC car back))
    if you are using your car most the time and you do not walk for long distance
    it would be great for you as my situation
    but i do not recommend it if you using public transportation (Bus,subway...etc)because you may walk most the time and some time be would be in a hurry

    I see all this comments about wearing it wrong, Is there a video anywheres that show how to set it up and wear it ? I havnt found one yet, everything Ive seen it hangs away from the body

    The 511 Rush series in general is very uncomfortable. I have an AMP 24 that I use for my work bag and I love it. I've carried that bag on countless EMS calls. So, when I was putting together a 72-hour bag for search and rescue, of course, I went with 511. But this time I decided to try the Rush 72. As far as organization, it's the best I've ever seen. It's bigger than it looks and you can put a ton of stuff in it. And there are mesh and pockets everywhere for stashing different things. But, the shoulder straps are so uncomfortable. When wearing the pack for hours while searching for lost or injured people, forget it. I have to set it down somewhere and go back for it before we move to a new area. Great video though. I was looking between the two bags you have there to replace a Northface sling I use now. I think I'm going to go with the Push.

  • @BIGVINNY99
    @BIGVINNY99 Před 4 lety +3

    It would appear to me that you have the strap way too loose and low. If it was tighter you wouldn't have it hanging the same way and you could reach the buckle.
    Also you said when you had it loaded up you couldn't find a place to put money in there?? Money is sooo flat and compact, how could you possibly not find the space for it?
    I appreciate the review none the less, I just think your a bit biased about the bag unconsciously.

  • @jbbennett2816
    @jbbennett2816 Před 9 lety +6

    It's like they rushed it to market without quality control for use. If it doesn't hang right, and you're right, it just doesn't, its just gonna sit in your closet until the ouch of the 63 bucks wears off. You know, if it was me, I'd send it back to the manufacturer and have them tweak it. When I was a kid, I used to write major corporations about their products with such things as likes and dislikes(sound familiar). You might not get a reply. But, my folks were quite impressed when a knock on the door(while I was in Junior High) was opened to find the CEO of Heinz Ketchup on the door step holding my letter and 2 bottles of a new product, which had the ingredients I had mentioned. Now, that was something. And everyone in the neighborhood found out because he had a chauffeured driven limo u-turning out of our driveway. Travis, what you could do is send it back with your improvements and maybe they'll give you a royality. Just a thought. Thanks for the review, Jb.

    You don’t have the strap tight enough and you need to pull it up on your shoulder where the coms pouch is almost on your shoulder. Secondly, you should’ve gotten the Moab 10 if you wanted more space.

    Great review mate. I was going to just buy a MOAB 6 instead of waiting for my supplier to get in more MOAB 10s and im so glad I waited now. I have worn the 10 all day walking around at festivals and it is super comfortable. It has better organisation and is tall enough to store a4 documents without damage, without adding a whole lot more bulk. If you're interested in a MOAB, give the 10 a look first.

    • @adriancharles
      @adriancharles Před 9 lety

      equatorbushcraft I'm short, so I guess I'm biased towards really small EDC bags- they won't carry much beyond the day's gear, a multitool, flashlight, but that's what fits my needs.
      I was pretty impressed with the Maxpedition Remora size and built quality, but felt it needed more internal organisation and an external water pouch; and the sling had similar problems to the Moab 6, though to a lesser degree.
      The Hazard 4 Tonto had an amazingly comfortable shoulder strap, but the side pocket was inadequate for a decent water bottle.
      Right now I'm using a commuter bag- the Victorinox Vertical Travel Companion.

      Francis Michael Depalco I agree with you. He's wearing it way too high. Also, i noticed he's overloaded the PUSH bag, I'm sure he did the same with the MOAB 6. I use the 6 daily, but I own the 10 and the RUSH 72. I've learned to load them so they ride lower and closer to the waist. Being a former firefighter, I've learned through years of wearing SCBA's that bags and packs are designed to ride on or closer to your hips,

    • @equatorbushcraft1331
      @equatorbushcraft1331  Před 9 lety +2

      Chris Fitzgerald thanks for watching. As for overloading the bag it had towels in it. Did not even weight two pounds as i say in the video. as for overloading teh PUSH... 10 pounds is overloading? I guess in the States you dont need what i do i suppose. Sat phone alone is over half a pound. I had a guy explain how to wear the bag better and it does ride nicer. There will be a video coming on that. However if you wear it the way 5.11 shows you it rides like i have it in the video. I love 5.11 geear, but hazzard 4 is slowly winning me over. Thanks for watching.

    • @smkdvr1
      @smkdvr1 Před 9 lety +2

      First things first. Your response "As for overloading the bag it had towels in it. Did not even weight two pounds as i say in the video." is incorrect. @ 1:45 you state " It fit everything" referring to the previous minute of dialog where you inform the viewer that the PUSH bag (Practical Utility Shoulder Hold) rode on your iPhone. Like I said, you overloaded the MOAB 6 (Mobile Operation Attachment Bag). I watched the 2 videos on your load-out of the PUSH bag. 10 pounds is far to modest an estimate of the weight. As for your condescending remark "I guess in the States you dont need what i do i suppose", guy, you have a southern draw, I would know, I'm southern. You sound like you're from Alabama or Georgia. As far as what I need, in a 6 hour bag I place what I will NEED for 6 hours. AR mags, pistol mags, radio, pens, paper, a tourniquet, pain reliever, 1 16 oz. bottle of water, sunglasses, flashlight, lighter, toilet paper. Remember it's a 6 hour bag. 5.11 Tactical is designed for law enforcement, EMS, Firefighter, not survivalist! There are bags that cater to those individuals much better than a 6 hour bag. Your review is completely unfair. You should have began the review by saying "you bought the wrong bag for your situation".

    • @equatorbushcraft1331
      @equatorbushcraft1331  Před 9 lety +1

      Chris Fitzgerald Thanks for responding. Watch from 2:58-3:06. I plainly say that the bag has towels and socks and does not even weight two pounds. I did put everything in the bag from the PUSH, but it was aweful so I put it back. This is just a review so people can see it and how it rides. Your right I am from the south, however i live overseas, I am not sure where in Alabama or GA, you would see that background. Im glad you like the bag, heck i like it to at 5:52 i state clearly it make work for you but it does not work for me. By teh way if 5.11 only sold thier bags to who they inteded, they probably would be out of buisiness. In fact i would dare say there are more survivalists/ prepper people have 5.11 bags than anyone else. By the way thanks for sharing what you carry, that is helpful for everyone. Your right it was not the bag for me, thats why I have switched to the hazzard 4 watson, i have review on it, check it out. Stay safe out there.

    • @messmeister92
      @messmeister92 Před 9 lety +8

      Chris Fitzgerald I'm not entirely sure why you're getting so upset at his opinion; he's absolutely entitled to it. He used the bag and decided he didn't like it. There's no need to attack him because he has a different use for the bag than you do. Look at the reviews of the MOAB 6 on youtube; the majority of reviews are from ordinary people using it for EDC - not law enforcement, EMS, or firefighters. And 5.11 clearly markets their bags as being multi-purpose (I used the RUSH 10 as my everyday school bag when I was in college, and until recently as my laptop bag). Everyone is going to have a different opinion based on their situation and use for the bag.
