    OUTSTANDING video, Jenn! We just picked up our 2020 T@b 320s BD last week and will be “driveway camping” while we learn all the systems. Our first outing will be at Delaware SP in Ohio the first weekend in October, so I appreciate the set-up tips. 🥰

    I had a 400 and sold it because I wanted a smaller foot print then after car camping for a while I decided I needed a tiny home and bought a 320 and love it just for me. Good video.

    If you're using one of those surge protectors, be sure to lock it to the post with a cable lock. Also, if you're staying hooked up to your tow vehicle, be sure to unplug your light wiring connection, so you don't drain your car battery.

    Not bad for the first time backing up. Betsey you will get better the more you do it and there will still be bad and good days. When I turn the propane on at the tank I like to light a burner on the stove top to fill the lines with propane before turning the Alde system on. May not be necessary, but I like to do that.

    Love the vid, as always. For us a sticky point always was (and is) unlatching the coupler. Sometimes if you need to correct the level too much (more than one block) it's best to release the coupler lock before. Also make sure to keep it greased up as part of ongoing maintenance!

    • @JennGroverPhotography
      @JennGroverPhotography  Před 3 lety

      Great tips! It's true, weight forward on the hitch makes it tough to unhook.I went with a greaseless ball to avoid the extra grease, but I will use a little white lithium on the coupler.

      I cut some of the steps not because they aren't important but because of length. Of course she was completely chocked and the power was off. 😁

    From the video of the newbie backing in, don't back so far into the site that your rear stabilizers will land partly atop or be impeded by the curb that is often at the back of the site although it's not such a big issue even if they do. Also, after pulling forward of your spot and before backing in straighten out your wheel. It is only from a position of straight wheels that someone new to backing in will be able to accurately determine in what direction and how much to turn your wheel. (I like the hands on 4 and 8 o'clock method, with bringing the right hand on 4 counterclockwise toward the top if you need to turn the trailer to the right or the left hand on 8 clockwise toward to the top if your need to turn the trailer to the left, and then the key being bringing your hand back towards its original position once the trailer has turned most of the desired way so that your TV follows and straightens out with the trailer as you continue backing in.)

  • @marypucker3338
    @marypucker3338 Před 3 lety +2

    Don't forget to use wheel chocks after you are level and before disconnecting from your TV.

    A easy tip to back in up trailers is grab the bottom of your steering wheel and turn it the way you want the trailer to go.

    I parked at the wrong site, once. I was tired. It was during Covid when every other site was closed off. I got a knock on the door in the middle of the night. The ranger made me move, even though I was a 70-year-old lady in her p.j.s.

    • @JennGroverPhotography

    Good job on the backing, but there was no reason to pull completely onto the grass. CHOCKS!!! Did she chock the trailer? Did she have the power on at the pedestal when she plugged the power cord into her camper? That is a no no.

    Hello - thanks for the great video. I'm on the verge of purchasing a 400 Boondock. I've gotten conflicting advice on a weight distribution hitch from both the T@B forums and from dealers. It looks like Betsey has a WDH on her vehicle. Would you be able to provide me with what brand that is and if it was installed by the dealer she got it from or by an RV Svc Center? Thanks for any help you can provide!

    • @JennGroverPhotography
      @JennGroverPhotography  Před 2 lety

      I am not 100% sure if Betsey would recommend one or not. What does your tow vehicle manual say you should do? That is first place you should consult. If it recommends once work woth your dealer to have one installed. If it does not, I would try without, first. You can always add one after the fact!

    • @vhf6916
      @vhf6916 Před 2 lety

      Sorry for the follow up - what year T@B is Betsey's - just trying to compare weights and tongue weights for differences, if any. I'll be towing with a 2021 Toyota Highlander, so a slightly less beefy TV than she has and am looking to purchase a 2021 T@B 400 Boondock.

      @vhf6916 Před 2 lety

      @@JennGroverPhotography Thanks for your reply - I'll keep checking. What I've been told by a dealer is the Nucamp trailers should not use a WDH as it can damage their Aframe (?). At most it should just be a sway bar - a single one, not two bars like you would normally see. I'm very confused on this!
