Fian Villaranda랴무 honestly that's pretty accurate. They just play a lot with non-major modes and scales, and most newer songs seem to be around the same key since usually that seems to be the trap aesthetic (given that sub bass parts usually only hit the hardest at certain frequencies/in certain keys). They also use faster hi hat and drum patterns that reference both metal and trap music, so really it's a melting pot of genres that it's awesome they've found.
Earlier stuff of their's was pretty straightforward, and so was the image they put out with it, so it's great to see them embrace something that includes so many different styles to create a unique one

Tim is a fantastic guitarist. That being said he writes hiphop beats on the computer and takes bass notes rhythm and melodies notes that he programmed for the beat and plays those notes on guitar. Very creative sounding...very fun. But if you think he just sat down with the guitar and this came out after messing around on the neck..you are delusional. The playing is impressive. The sound is impressive. But the writing process is...eh. I don't want to say its cheating...let's just say he didn't write these epic riffs on the guitar. He wrote them on the computer, and then he transcribed it to guitar.

I've played guitar for decades, since I saw Yngwie live in '84. I've seen all the techniques -- but this is the coolest thing I've heard since I don't know when. The technique is the means to an end. That's what everyone says it *should* be, but it so rarely is, and Tim actually embodies it here. The notes, the timing, the tasty mix of muted and ringing, etc. Wow. A+, 10/10, as cool as it gets. A little gem of musical art to be admired for eternity.
He has another video where he walks through how to play it, but I bought the tab anyway just to toss him a couple of bucks in appreciation.

Well, if you’re talking about actual technical soloing... NOBODY shredded as excellently as Stephen Taranto. Not even Jason Richardson. Stephen has an unmatched flow of ideas where every note is seamlessly connected back-to-back. Easily the best technique and most imaginative technical passages. I did like Tim’s solo, though.
This was a collab which featured a lot of variety that was exciting to witness, but if the standard is the usual technical display of prowess, then Stephen is undeniably the winner. For me, the proof is not only in Stephen’s superior tone to similar shredders like Richardson. It’s how difficult it is to seamlessly connect various areas of the neck and play passages that keep the listener guessing. He demonstrated the best technique and creativity within the shred paradigm.

AAn BBe that’s my bad. I wrote that comment and posted it as soon as I heard it. I didn’t do my research. You have to admit he looks pretty young. Anyway, I really like how he plays the guitar. Haha.

Every time I see the thumb in the suggestions I feel an unexplainable need to listen to this song, than I play the video and start reading the comments til the song ends, than I put it on repeat and continue reading and do this like 10 times every single time, even after a year.
I must have actually listened to it much more than a 100 times by now. It's weird because this has never happened to anything or any song. It actually confuses me a little.

Kudos to the guitarists in that vid, but a lot of it was sort of generic shred. Hadn't even heard of Polyphia but when this solo came up it really caught my attention and I had to look it up.

Jordan Pool generic maybe if you’re Tosin Abasi but cleaner and more original than most guitarists in metal or blues
