I kinda feel that Joe Satriani was talking about guys like Tim, Scott, Mateus, Ichika, Yvette Young when he commented in an interview "It's beyond shredding. I mean, there are guys out there on Instagram who - I just love watching their posts, they play so phenomenally great on the guitar, I know I will never get there.
"I still try. I watch them and I go, 'I want to do that.' I forget how old I am and how long I've been trying to play guitar, and I go, 'I probably will not going to be able to do that.'
"It's so exciting to see what they've been able to do with the guitar, it kind of makes me feel like I'm in some slower gear, but it really is inspiring to me to watch the young guitar players play.
"I think it's beyond shredding. Shredding seems like an old word, they're just doing something else that is on such a higher level, I mean, it's so beyond what we were doing in the '80s the '90s that I don't want to bring it down using that word. It's the higher form of guitar playing, it's the highest I've seen in decades."

This song has been completely changed for me, my grandfather just passed the other night and a few days before that he had sent this to me again.
Last year I had introduced him to this video while telling him about the songs I’ve been trying to learn by Tim.
We’ve had some amazing times over the years and I’m sad that no new memories can be made however I’m really thankful he was my grandfather and really thankful for who he was.
He was always extremely supportive of me playing guitar and he was inspired by his son who passed while I was young and by Les Paul/Mary Ford, unfortunately he never got the chance to learn to play, he did own a few guitars, a hollow body electric Ibanez (he was very exited about) and an electric Solid body Gretsch that he ended up gifting me many years ago now.
Even though he never learned how to play he loved to sit with me and listen to me play wish I could have done that more now, I think it’s really cool that guitar has been a huge part of my life since I was 10 and a big part of that is thanks to him.
Really glad he enjoyed this song as I was also really moved by it the first time I heard it and really appreciate that it could be a small part of me and my grandfathers friendship that ended up being a huge part for me now.
