I had a good day today. Spent part of the day getting Christmas decorations out. And going to start decorating the house tomorrow.
I've got a bottle of water getting cold in the fridge, and planning on drinking it while watching your new reaction commentary this evening.
Hope that you're having a good day! 😊
#bingers The Maze Runner Trilogy
#Bingers since it's that time of year, How about Jim Carey's the Grinch, or if you prefer the full title, how the Grinch stole Christmas
You should do Aquamarine cause almost every young adult grew up with it #Bingers
I have my big yeti filled with ice water ready for the movie!
I was a teacher's aide for a kindergarten class and right before Christmas, the teacher showed this movie and while the kids were distracted I went and put big jingle bells on a ribbon in all of their coat pockets. It was really cute and the kids loved it. We made hot chocolate and the whole 9 yards.
Did you sing the song for the hot chocolate? :D
That’s really cute! I’m an aide for a 2nd grade LLD classroom and we always watch the Grinch and the kids turn themselves into Who’s. Christmas is always big in elementary schools.
This is so precious
i’m 18 now and i miss being in Elementary and having winter break parties before we leave and watch this movie, drink hot chocolate and wear pjs, i miss that feeling so much
That's so cute!
This is the only movie where it makes sense for him to be so confused with names, because literally none of these children have names😂💀 Baby Barbara is literally "Hero Girl" on the character list
Lol and the only name we know is his own name!!
Yeah literally hero boy and hero girl, the funny thing is I made an illustrated book once and I called one of the characters hero girl because I hadn’t chosen a name for her yet. While I got round to it eventually the polar express never did lol.
I did a Twitter Commentary a few years back and landed on the following names for the characters:
"Hero Boy" - Tiny Tom
"Hero Girl" - Uncanny Valerie
Unlikable Nerd Boy - Mandark (They have the same voice actor! Uh... do not look up what that same voice actor/'s been up to...)
Poor Kid - Jack McSadSack
Santa Claus - President Christmas Snow (A buddy pointed out how much Santa looks like Donald Sutherland in this. Plus all the adult characters are weirdly stern.)
That One Steven Tyler Elf - NOOOOO!!!!!
Well there is Billy and Santa
In the subtitles the kid with the glasses is named “ know-it-all” buahaha
I don't care what anyone says, this movie was, and will always be amazing. This is my favorite Christmas movie hands down.
Also, that Hot Chocolate song? If you didn't church clap during that then reevaluate your life please and thank you.
I do agree this movie is amazing, but honestly not my favorite. My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone 2, the story, the emotion, the characters. Everything about it is perfect.
I love the hot chocolate song! In middle school I had a group project that involved making a medley and a music video and I choose it to be my part of our group’s medley.
Oh, the uncanny valley. So rough. But hey, we're all different. 👍
I am also such a big fan of this movie. I am such a fan that when my son was 14, he is now 28, the DVD of this movie was my Christmas gift from him that year.
@@JamesASharp What do you mean by uncanny valley?
You were right at first, Tom Hanks was Woody, and he's the narrator. Tim Allen was Buzz. Lol. I find it hilarious that you corrected yourself when you were right, thus causing yourself to be wrong. 🤣🤣🤣
😂 leave me alone you bully
@@BillyBinges Me? Bully you? What? 😲 I'd never bully the man who keeps me hydrated and entertained. 😁
I was looking for this comment 😂
@BillyBinges not sure about the dream unless you feel asleep in water .
When I was a child my grandparents read this book to me and gave me a bell they swore was broken but they kept because it was “pretty”. I believed for years that I was the only one that could hear it. I still have that bell.
Precious 😭
So I read a fan theory about how the boy actually fell asleep to his dad reading him a bedtime story. Hanks is actually voicing like 5-6 characters in this movie, maybe more which makes sense as dads read in different voices for different characters. The train is the choice of whether he believes or not. Goes more into detail but it makes a lot sense this way!
He did lose his marbles tho maybe that was significant
@@aleahdodson1889 Wow. I've been watching this movie for 10 years and just now realized that. Good on ya.👍🏽
Billy, the one that said “Christmas doesn’t work out for me” means his parents never have enough money to get him presents, he was poor and because he never got things on Christmas he didn’t believe in Santa which is why he was on that train. Billy started to believe once he saw his name on the present.
Fun fact: Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games (Peeta or as we know him on this channel: David) did the motion-capture to get the cgi for the main boy and it’s funny cuz the character actually somewhat looks like him when he was little so uh there’s some baby David trivia for you 😂😂😂
Not baby David💀😂
He’s mo-capped by Peeta, voiced by Juni from Spy Kids, and grows up to be Tom Hanks, if this ain’t the ultimate kid idk who is
@@sweetstars4all he needs to know the iconic role baby David played in our childhoods 😭😭😭
@@akorn9943 a mega fusion of actors who raised us 😌
As a kindergartener I remember watching this movie in class, jingle bells being passed around, and drinking hot chocolate. Still one of my most favorite memories from childhood.
Omg someone else said the were a kindergarten aide and they did this for the kids
@@aleahdodson1889 hm.
My library at my elementary school used to decorate a room like the polar express, and our librarian would dress up as the conductor. He would lead us to the room with an old oil lamp, and then read us the Polar Express. Then, they'd put on the movie and give us hot chocolate and candy canes during the hot chocolate song. Some of my favorite memories as a kid, and this movie will always have a special place in my heart.
The Last Holiday with Queen Latifah please! An underrated seasonal gem. #bingers
YES!!!!!!!!!! Totally underrated, and so worth watching.
OMG PLEASE. One of my fave movies!!
PLEEAASEEE!!
Also… this was the first 3D movie I saw in the theater. You had grown adults trying to “catch” snowflakes in the theater. 😂 The animation was amazing back then.
Hahaha same, me (5 at the time) and my brother (7) were absolutely mind blown by the snow flakes
@@johnballard1427 well don’t I feel old.. I was 18..:
This is such a good movie and the song Believe by Josh Groban is absolutely wonderful.
The Grinch who Stole Christmas (Jim Carey) #Bingers
Disney's a Christmas Carol #Bingers
Rise of the Guardians #Bingers
The griiiinch 😍
The guardians yesss
It's funny because Rise of the Guardians is technically an Easter movie lol
I love watching this movie every year around Christmas time. And this year is even better because it's my daughter's first Christmas and I can't wait to enjoy it with her. Unfortunately she will not be watching this premiere tonight but I will be showing her tomorrow. She absolutely love watching Billy. Every time Billy says get yourself some water she reaches for her bottle. I can't wait to show her tomorrow.
It’s gonna be my baby’s first Christmas this year and I’m so excited 🥰
This movie hits hard for me, Christmas has been emotional for me as I never quite can capture the spirit I used to have when I was 10- I started slowly feeling less of it every year but this movie never fails to make me want to believe in the spirit of it again or to almost make me cry
How have you managed to capture how I feel so perfectly
agreed :) just watched it this year and I always cry at the end because of the feeling it gives me
Woody's in the Polar Express, Buzz is in The Santa Clause, and Jessie's in Klaus.
#bingers please watch Klaus!
This movie is definitely a classic and a must watch every year. Also "When Christmas Comes to Town" is definitely on my top 5 list of christmas songs.
I love that song!
This commentary was wonderful and hilarious! A couple of things:
1) The illustrator/author of the original (amazing) book is Chris Van Allsburg. He is all-around awesome. He is also a Rhode Island School of Design alumnus and that is why Santa’s North Pole city looks a lot like an industrial New England city. One of the things I like about this movie is how they kept that detail.
2) The reason this movie looks… Like This… is because it was from that weird era of “Oh motion-capture is going to change animation forever!” I’m very glad that they since realized that mo-cap looks very off-putting unless you have an actual human animator go in and revise it later, like mo-cap is the “sketch”.
3) A friend of mine called this “Snowpiercer for Kids” and another friend called it “Bioshock: Christmas Edition”. I can’t argue with either. 🤣
Every Christmas I watched " Polar Express" the message and inspiration behind the movie always ✨ hits home even when we know Santa is not real, it still sends a positive vibe. Also "Treasure Planet " as well is God to watch on a holiday. One of the most top underrated Disney movies. Sends out a wonderful message & amazing music as well.
Treasure Planet is honestly one of THEE best Disney animated movies of the early 2000s. It's disrespectfully underrated.
The design of the steam locomotive in the movie is actually based off of a real-life steam locomotive, the Pere Marquette 1225! But it has a different whistle than the one in the movie. Here are some hints:
- The serial number 1225 is actually a nod to 12/25, or Christmas Day!
- And the train whistle you hear in the movie is a nod to the same train whistle heard in another Robert Zemeckis movie, Back to the Future Part 3!
I loved this movie so much. I was a kid that thankfully only stuck to one or 2 gifts growing up, but my parents did so much to go above and beyond to make it look like Santa visited. I thank them so much for that. One year all I wanted was a bell from Santa, so they made all my gifts bell themed or decorated with bells. And they gave me a silver bell that matched the one in this movie and added a snowman top to it. This movie was everything to me.
I remember watching this during December in elementary school. We'd all go in our pajamas and told to bring snacks for class. We'd get hot cocoa and push all the desks to the side so we all could sit in the middle and watch the movie. It was magical and no matter what anyone says its too nostalgic to dislike.
"never ever let it cool" is a horrible rule for hot chocolate. All those kids just scalded their throats from gulping down a whole cup of piping hot chocolate in 2 minutes.
Their tastebuds never had a chance 🤣
You do understand the concept of suspending disbelief, right?
Write What You Know: The main protagonist (also named after the author, Chris) is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, also the hometown of the book's author. In one scene, the train passes by Herpolsheimer's, which was (until the 1980s) a Grand Rapids department store that was known for its lavish Christmas displays.
-Not only that, but the author recalls playing on the real Pere Marquette 1225 as a child. (At the time it wasn't operational, so it was brought out at football games for that purpose)
-Also the entire story was Based on a Dream of a magical train one Christmas Eve when he was in-story Chris's age (around 9 or 10).
I’m cryingggg not the “colored section” of the train Billy out of pocket 😭😭😭
I know idky I said that for a childrens movie 😂
Alan Silvestri wrote the music for The Polar Express. He's the same guy who wrote the score for the Avengers.
Hands down one of my favorite Christmas movies. I don’t know why it gets so much hate.
It might be because of the creepy animation, but that does not make me hate it at all.
@@jediconnor9349 I guess because I saw it when it originally came out in the theater in 3D the animation doesn’t bother me so much. Must be the nostalgia factor.
@@incubaby876 by 2021 standards, it still looks great to my eye
Aha it gets hate? It’s my favorite Christmas movie 💜
@@stoneydrey3418 Same.
The year this came out my son, nephew, and niece watched it. They all wrote a letter to Santa asking for a bell from the reindeer. It took me 2 weeks to find three bells the right size, and color that actually rang. Had me going crazy.
Fun Fact: the main character's name in the move is Hero Boy. His name isn't mentioned throughout the entire movie, however, in the original book, his name is Chris
One of my favorite Christmas movies!! Definitely a classic🎄❤other Christmas classics I recommend are This Christmas, National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, The Preacher's Wife (with Whitney Houston), The Best Man Holiday, and Barbie Christmas Carol👀👀 #bingers
Yes!!! Best Man and Best Man Holiday!!! #bingers
I straight up choked on and spit up my water when Billy said "How funny would it be if the whisper song started to play?" LOL I wish it would have cut to an edit of that added in.
Definitely looking forward to watching this commentary reaction.
This is one of my must-watch holiday movies that I have to watch at least twice during the season.
I highly recommend the 1988 movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". #Bingers
I'm still surprised to say that this is one of my favorite Christmas movies. (Special shout out to all of the incredible Chris Van Allsburg books.) I went to see it with my step-grandfather, and it is a very cherished memory.
The fact that you made a Twilight reference in a Christmas movie is EVERYTHING 😂😂
Even if you’re not a Twilight fan it has forever impacted your life😂
Also- Love Actually is an interesting Christmas movie along with Love Hard! #Bingers
YES!! LOVE HARD!! One of my new top favorites. Haha
#bingers You should definitely watch Krampus 2015 by director Michael Doherty. It’s a Christmas horror movie that me and my family watch every year and I gotta say, it’s probably the creepiest yet also funniest horror movie I’ve seen. I think you’ll like it, Billy! Love your reaction, too! The Polar Express was my childhood Christmas movie!
One of my favourite Christmas films!
I love the 'When Christmas Comes To Town' scene!
Tom Hanks did most (if not all) of the adult male voices in this movie including the father, the conductor, the ghost on top of the train, Santa, and more.
My entire 5th grade class went to see this film when it was in theaters in 2005. That was very nice and better than the entire middle school after you had the permission slip signed to see Eragon in theaters.
#Bingers
Some out there Christmas films to watch:
Scrooge (1970 film),
It Happened on Fifth Avenue,
Also you can never go wrong with the classic It’s a Wonderful Life.
"Did Tom Hanks play almost every character in this movie?" YES! LOL Also they used Tom Hanks in a motion capture suit for most of the animation.
The other little boy didn't *have* to be in the back by himself; he CHOSE to be away from the others because he's a poor kid from the wrong side of the tracks-- he doesn't feel he fits in with the others.
It always breaks my heart that Billy doesn't get the first gift of Christmas. He deserved it so much more than the main character.
The book was definitely a better childhood memory than the movie was. Not that this is a bad movie, just the book is better.
The book is one of the greatest illustrated books of all time. Chris VanAllsberg is incredible!
there's a book? 😱
@@19Rena96 Yes, it was published almost 20 heats before the movie, in 1985.
It was a book??
It's all the extra padding the movie has to do, I think. It's done well but the book has such a simplistic grace to it.
The events that take place in our dreams are often symbolic, so dying in a dream usually relates more to the concept of change rather than actual death.
this is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. I watch it every year and always tear up when I watch it. the message is just so beautiful and the music is just top notch. but I must say, I've not once laughed watching this movie, until now lol thanks for giving me a new experience with some of my favorite movies Billy. Merry Christmas! ♥
“Klaus” on Netflix is one of my favorite Christmas movies. It’s only been out for a few years. I also feel like it doesn’t get enough credit! #bingers
What a perfect Christmas classic, and of course gotta love Tom Hanks 😊 the main character is from where I'm from. This is a good movie to give someone Christmas spirit 😊
#bingers Rise of the Guardians 🌟
I haven't watch this movies since 2nd grade!!!😁😊
billy's dance-breaks are my favourite part of any video lol. he just gets so hyped, i love it
Yk, fun fact:
When the Northern Lights appeared after Billy and Leader Girl sang _When Christmas Comes to Town,_ I got SO excited that I squealed, "It's the *Great Spirits* !!!!" 😂😂😂 Idk. I think it was because I was SO obsessed with _Brother Bear_ I thought "the Spirits" were telling the kids that "they" arrived at their destination or that "they" were *welcoming* the Polar Express! 😊😁😁

This is one of the few movies that actually puts me into a Christmas spirit, there's something so hauntingly magical about it.
Yes, for sure it is one of my favorite Christmas movies especially when I was a kid.
Plus it would be cool if you could do "The Last Holiday" with Queen Latifah. #bingers
I think you might enjoy that film
Polar Express is one of the best Christmas movies ever with National Lampoons Christmas Vacation shortly there after.
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation #bingers
watching movies with billy is always a good time
I got so obsessed with this movie when it came out. That bell the boy rang next to his ear? One of my aunts gave it to me in my stocking in our Christmas Eve stocking stuffers tradition.
I love your reactions! I'd literally die of happiness if you react to a ghibli movie! Like Spirited away (2001) or Princess Mononoke (1997) The animation is CRAZY #bingers
OMG YES! Or Howls moving castle
This has undoubtedly become one of my fave Xmas movies to watch during the holidays. Wish kids could enjoy their youth, have infinite experiences with their imagination and believe in the good things again. This was a heart warmer
Movie came out when I was 6, and probably has been one of my fav holiday movies other than “Elf.” Great Christmas story for the whole family! And yes, Hanks did a fine job.
this is one of my favorite movies, probably my favorite christmas movie, i watched it when i was an older teen and it fr made me wanna believe again, it's such a wholesome movie, glad u liked it sm
I always thought this movie was more for ambience because I did not catch on that there was a plot lol
😂😂 well it’s really good when you realize it
There’s an explanation for why you found the animation creepy! Animators call it the “uncanny valley”. It’s when the animation _tries_ to look exactly like reality, but it doesn’t quite look real, and so the brain is tripped out like “it doesn’t look like a cartoon and it doesn’t look like a real thing, so what the fuck is it?!” 😂
But anyway, do you know what Christmas classic I think you would DIE over?
_The Muppets Christmas Carol._ Its the ultimate hilarious and heartwarming (and CREEPY and DARK!) Christmas classic. 👻🎄 #Bingers
One of the interesting things to know is that Tom Hanks plays like 4 people in this movie. He plays the conductor, the hobo on the top of the train, Santa and another one. That’s just how talented he is. Great whimsical movie.
Bruh this movie will forever be iconic you can't convince me otherwise
#Bingers Home Alone 1 and 2, pleaseeee 🙏🙏🙏...
Tom Hanks did a few of the voices in this movie. The conductor, the train hobo, and Santa. There could possibly be more, and in one of the last scenes where the elves are singing on stage, the main singer is voiced by & motion captured by Steven Tyler
Thanks for some lighthearted fun at the end of a long day Billy. Merry Christmas to all
This movie gives me the feels every Christmas. It just has the magic. I still can’t explain what it’s about or why it’s good…but that last line gives me tingles
Thank you billy so much for reacting to this movie! I love this movie so much and it brings back so much memories. Once I here the first part of the movie of the “believe song” ahhh man I love it so much! 😄❤️
The fact that my schedule completely changed an I keep missing these uploads don’t sit right with me but I’m watch this playback ☺️☺️ happy holidays billy an everyone 😊🎄🎅🎊
Its a must watch each Christmas for me ever since it came out and I always tear up cuz I am a ol lady by now and it reminds me of the past Christmasses with my sons when they were small (34 and 31 now with each a son 7 yrs old) and I jst remember the glow in their eyes...its touching :) Greetings, best wishes and a Merry Christmas to you and your family from an old sentimental fool in Germany!
Yassss- This is gonna be my favorite month from you! I love Christmas films!
Aye yo, I’m so happy you included the part of little “Steven” lying because I forgot that that was my favorite part of this entire movie. I haven’t seen it in 10+ years, so this unlocked a memory. I need to watch this Christmas Eve
And honestly tbh YOU and RivalReacts are my GO TO movie commentary channels. And maybe a lil bit of Aaron and jo 😂😂
This reaction is so funny because watching your confusion every few seconds is so relatable! As a child I was obsessed with this movie but I still could never tell u wtf was going on even now so watching u look like 🤔 is hilarious 😂
this is literally my favorite christmas movie, it's completely my childhood, whenever i see it i feel like crying because it reminds me of my family, and also the time when christmas was all so magical to me, i still love Christmas, but not like before, in the past everything was amazing at Christmas, and every year my sister and I watch this movie, we still have the dvd lol, we love it so much. 🥺💗
This movie is by far hands down one of my favorite Christmas movies. I remember going to the theater to go see it with my school when it first came out. This movie holds a special place in my heart bc it’s apart of my childhood and it makes me happy and nostalgic every time I watch it.😊❤️
i watch this movie with my family EVERY christmas eve, it's our little tradition !!! loved watching this old reaction video !! :)))
The polar express is supposed to be a dream like train ride of a young boy who questions Santa’s existence. We never find out if its a dream or not, whether the other kids are real, or just a figment of his subconscious imagination. Its supposed to be a once in a life time experience, which is what makes it so magical and mysterious, and emotional towards the end with all of the goodbyes. The characters however, do have names in the storyboards, and are a direct reference of the people who worked on the movie(appearance wise). This is why Tom Hanks looks so similar. I hope this helped :)
Billy is theorized to have never believed in christmas because his parents never had the money to but him presents and pretend it was from him. Which is why, seeing his name and address on the package is such a big deal for him. This makes him believe, that Santa is real, because just when he was going to give up completely, Santa reaches out to him.
i love how much fun you had during the hot chocolate song
I watch this movie every Christmas. Its my favorite Christmas movie since it came out! I'm happy you watched it!! Fun fact: Tom Hanks played majority of the characters in this movie
I love this movie. From the animation, to the soundtrack, to the great representation and symbolism of faith and doubt, to the accuracy of the book. It's fantastic
I love watching this movie every year✨I remember going to the movies to see this as a kid and it was in 3D🥴 talk about all the kids reaching and screaming to grab the golden ticket😂 the train ride felt like a rollercoaster lol and don’t get me started on the hot chocolate 🍫 ☕️✨
I remember going to Austin with my mom to see this in REAL IMAX and it was so amazing. Watching this movie after that experience will never compare. I still cry at the end. Christmas has that extra special spark for children. As adults we go searching for that kind of magic and excitement for the rest of our lives.
Watching this each year is a tradition for me. And I'll be damned if I don't have hot chocolate while I'm watching! Also..I love that you immediately figured out it was Tom Hanks by realizing it was Woody's voice lol
one of my favorite childhood movies since I was 10 years old, the Polar Express the best Christmas movies I watch every year 🎄🥰
There's an old train that runs in the city where I live and during Christmas time I would take my kindergarten class on a field trip to ride the train in our pajamas, Santa would give each of the kids a little gift at the end of the ride, it was magical.
I love the book- still have my bell! and tom hanks was woody, Tim Allen was buzz lightyear
One of my favorites. Every year my small town movie theater does a free showing of this movie the weekend after Thanksgiving! It was great taking my daughter this year she loved it!
#bingers Would love to see the Greatest Showman!! Amazing movie!! ❤️
Loved this reaction/commentary!! Happy Holidays Billy
The Polar Express is such a classic they even have a polar express train in real life and not only is it expensive but there is also a waiting list to get on the train and experience that polar express experience.
Hey Billy! If you haven't watched it, I suggest Jim Carrey How The Grinch Stole Christmas! It's...a very wild ride...#bingers
Yes an amazing Christmas movie . Shows how great an actor Tom Hanks is . He was all the main characters from the little boy to Santa. That Hot Chocolate song as you would say Billy chef's kiss 🤣 . Hope you had a good day Billy looks like you enjoyed this commentary as much as us 💕
Me and my family watch this movie on Christmas Eve with hot chocolate every year like a tradition
One of my faveorite christmas movies alongside the grinch, home alone 2 , this christmas and nighmare before christmas
I like the idea of this movie, but certain characters always really creeped me out. If those were gone and it was just a sweet Christmas adventure story in this animation style I probably would watch it every year. I try watching it again every now and then but am always disappointed.
