She is a racist & a predator. What she did to Dida, Latrice, Monet, Bob, Lashawn, & any/all people of color should have gotten her ass disqualified, not Willam. Ru must have known something; you know Michelle told her after the cruise. But there's a storyline & a product to push (Drag Con, Werk The World, other international tours, cruises, Las Vegas residencies, etc.) so fuck it. The whole thing is so unsavory.

I agree with the above poster - disgusting. You would think after the story about Annecy on Daily Beast & so other news outlets that there would have been a reckoning. It's as bad as Tyra Sanchez.

… and then some. It’s fair of you to call them “allegations”, but there’s a ton of supporting evidence. When the queens who were there say that Sharon was the villain and they all support PhiPhi, the alleged “bully” of the season… that’s when I started to understand him important editing is in assigning a winner!

Willam is genuinely one of the best queens out there and when there is something to be called out she will call it out and yet she's been made out to be this huge villain and diva by Ru and the production team. Seriously one of the most mistreated rpdr contestants out there. She deserves so much better but honestly so do most of the queens of colour and trans queens that have been on the show
Willam actively worked with Sharon after the season.

@@autumntess330Sharon clearly has a drinking problem and probably still uses other substances while a lot of the more successful queens from that time are either sober or not going hard like they’re 20/30 anymore. If you’ve ever been close to an addict you’d know how hard it is to let them go even if they’re terrible
This isn't just a swastika Sharon is wearing on her shirt. It's an exact replica of the flag used by the NS regime. In Germany, where I'm from, wearing any symbols affiliated with the Nazis is literally a criminal offense. Even without the racism allegations, this would be where I draw the line. The fact that she uses the N-word as well speaks for itself.
If you skip to 4:11 and look at the hat she's wearing, you can see the 'Reichsadler' (an eagle holding a wreath with a swastika) attached to it. Seems like it's common for Sharon to wear Nazi symbols as accessories which honestly makes me sick.
She’s doing it like how the Sex Pistols wore it. Ru herself even wore a confederate flag outfit. It’s supposed to be offensive to Nazis, you think they want to see a drag queen wearing their shit? Obviously it’s in poor taste but that was her brand. This has been known for awhile. Bob and dida have both told many stories of Sharon freely using the N word whenever she wanted, as well as making and wearing anti semitic remarks. She has sexual assault allegations from multiple fans from meet and greets (talking about SAing them, grabbing them without consent in let’s just say no no zones) and one from a at the time minor, who got so much hate they stopped being on the internet for a long time.
i can be quite the little anarchist, but being an anarchist, I fully realize that my rights end where another person's begin, and that this behavior frequently goes on under the guise of "creative license" (please see Marilyn Mason, Kanye West, etc) is disgusting. Fenton and Randy are fine with this stuff because its cash in the bank for them.

Looking back, it makes me feel kinda bad how bad we treated Phi Phi. Sure, she wasn't perfect, but the show clearly gave her a villain edit, and she was so distraught after All Stars 2 that she didn't even return for the reunion. Jaremi has gone on to do great things outside of the show, while Sharon is going around wearing fucking swastikas thinking she's being funny. It's pathetic, honestly.

I knew about most of this for some time which is just such a deep shame. Artistically, she was one of my favorite winners and groundbreaking in many respects and now she's just serving the stereotype of why people are afraid of that aesthetic... I initially felt somewhat liberated by the existence of Sharon and now it's like that dark closet in your room that just stays shut forever because the mess within isn't worth your effort. Damn Sharon. I hope you get it together. It's such a disservice to your craft, your happiness and peace, and to the community at large.
its really disappointing to see all this. before my daughter passed away, Sharon was one of her favourite queens along with Juju. this isn't ok. the constant use of the n word is horrible.

I always got the feeling that Sharon was trying too hard to be a "shock" queen. Hm, maybe she should go back to Party City.
To be honest I'm not even sure I can watch S4 again. Not only did they give Phi Phi the villain edit and made the whole fandom hate her but they crowned Sharon even AFTER they were notified of her use of racist slurs on set. Her behavior in general is just very questionable and disgusting, she seems like she wants to shock people at all costs and doesn't care who she hurts in the process. I just can't support that, and it's a shame because Sharon actually opened the doors for alternative queens on Drag Race and until I learned about the allegations I was a big fan.
I feel exactly the same. She used to be one of my favorites. But if those allegations turn out to be true (the racial slurs obviously are), i could never watch S4 the same way.

I'm trying to not be sensitive or not let people with no common sense or morals get me down but it can be hard. I was really surprised that more people didn't get bad vibes from Sharon. I never thought that she should have won her season. I believed that Chad Michaels deserved that win. I wasn't shocked at all when this news came out. It's very sad that none of her behaviour was anything she tried to hide people just chose to ignore it.
Sharon won because she won the most challenges and back then that determined the winner. So while you PREFER Chad..Sharon statistically was the best and deserved her crown.

I understand that the swastika also is a symbol in Hinduism, however the swastika Sharon used in her costume was the exact color and representation the Nazi's used. I do not know why someone would use the N word knowing it brings sadness to our black sisters and brothers, this is all sad that she did these things.

The Nazi swastika is different than the original one. It is facing to the right and is in 45 degrees angle. Sharon definitely work the Nazi one, especially with the red around it.
I understand it was meant to be an edgy critique on Walt Disney's racist and supposedly nazi views, as the outfit is Mickey Mouse with a swastika, and she and Alaska did variations on this outfit several times together in the past, but it doesn't translate to modern times. Drag has covered controversial topics for a long time, but some things, such as using the N word are definitely not hers to do.
Absolutely unacceptable, I cannot believe the show/producers etc would willingly allow anyone to use any slurs, especially racists ones. She should have been warned at the least and if she continued goodbye, off the show but they let her win anyways!

So on race chaser Willam was comforting Alaska for not getting picked for the all stars all winners season and said that they were probably just waiting on the Sharon Needles drama to die down so they could cast them both to compete against each other. I just feel like it would be a mistake to ever cast Sharon again with all these allegations against her. I actually hadn’t heard about the allegations that she’d encouraged ppl to commit suicide. It’s all messed up, but that one really upset me. I really hope WOW never invites her back.

I don’t think Alaska wasn’t given the call because of the want to have Sharron. I think it was because Jinkx was an initial want for AS7 and they didn’t want Jinkx and Alaska competing against each other. One reason because they are similar drag queens in terms of being comedic performers who can act, sing, and do improv. Two, they don’t want a regular season winner competing with an All Star winner from their season so the topic of “Who should had reality won the season” comes up. Sasha or Aquaria arent on AS7 so we don’t get that comparison as well.

I guess there are many who don’t know that the beloved Walt Disney was a notorious anti-Semite and personally invited Leni Riefenstahl, post-TRIUMPH OF THE WILL, to tour his studios with him, under the guise of having been impressed with her innovations as a filmmaker. Revolutionary though she was (her innovations in filming athletics in OLYMPIA basically created the templates by which several popular sports are filmed to this day) it’s nigh unforgivable to invite someone who used the medium to glorify Hitler and create the most disastrously effective propaganda film ever made as a special guest while the subject of her films was using her work to create the Holocaust. I can't stand Aquaria but I think she's not wrong to have distanced herself from Sharon. We know Sharon started talking to Aquaria and "mentoring" her when she was very young. We don't know how that relationship developed, but I cannot imagine Sharon having the best intentions. Whether Aquaria used Sharon's name to gain popularity or not is not a big deal. What bothers me about her is that now she's trying to act like they were never close and that she never used Sharon's name for clout.
Which is why I always feel critical about her winning and The Vixen being narrated as a villain.

Sharon is an obviously talented artist. And I think a lot of her actions and words, were attempts to be edgy or to gain attention. I can think of a lot of better things someone can do for attention other than offensive, tasteless behavior. She had an amazing platform to expand her brand, but that's now been burnt to the ground. It's sad actually.

That sounds very plausible. I feel like it’s plausible that she was trying to be edgy and controversial but she took that act too far and didn’t know when to stop. There is nothing wrong with it being an act but you need to know when to drop the act.
I am really pleased to see that Aquaria has distanced herself from Aaron. I was never much of a fan of Aquaria as I felt she always seemed to be very angry. Rumour is that she may be in the second season of All Stars winners and I'm really looking forward to seeing a more mature Queen and I'm also curious how much she's changed not having Aaron as a mentor.

If the allegations against Sharon Needles are true, then a lot of people know a lot more than they are letting on. Including Alaska, Aquaria and WOW. It beggars belief that she could be so nasty in public and so quiet in private.
That's super speculative. Alaska? Maybe. Aquaria and WOW?
Aquaria has spoken about how she doesn't really have a drag family and she wasn't that close as friends with Sharon. Drag mother / daughter is a mentor / mentee relationship (this is how you do your make-up, this is how you pad, etc.) so there's no reason to suspect and accuse her of knowing wrongdoing. This is all we do know: they were acquaintances who worked on their drag together. (And to give an example, Harvey Weinstein's wife, Georgina Chapman, knew nothing about his gross misdeeds).
WOW PRESENTS is a production company. They only know about Needles appearances on WOW productions, they don't go to her drag shows and monitor them for content, or her behavior otherwise. They'd probably did a background check on Needles before she appeared on Season 4, that's about it.

WOW have shown themselves to be very shady in relation to other things, so I wouldn't trust them further than I can throw them.

@@lisbonirish Chapman almost certainly heard the rumors. Weinstein had a career where he flied around the world and was absent often. To her they're just rumors until someone comes forward with legal action (as has been the case with Kevin Spacey, Bill Cosby, and Bryan Singer).
There was a rumor Tom Cruise was gay. A tabloid even talked to an alleged lover, who later admitted he made the whole thing up. You'd be surprised what people don't know and can hide.
Yes, you're allowed to speculate on who will be on the next season of Drag Race or what will come next for the MCU. Framing Aquaria and WOW Presents as guilty of wrongdoing for knowing something without a SHRED of evidence is really crappy.
Annecy mentioned Alaska by name, and recounted an event where alleged inappropriate behavior occurred. That's fair to wonder what she knew, hence my "maybe" (it's still alleged.) Annecy said NOTHING about Aquaria (or WOW PRESENTS), nor is there even something so much as a picture of them together. So you've only got guilt-by-association (because-they-knew-each-other) which is an outright logical fallacy.

I have not "framed" WOW and Aquaria (and if I have, I apologise, as this was not my intention). I just feel that many more people already knew what Sharon Needles was doing but said nothing at the time. I find it hard to believe that they didn't know about it, as Ms Needles obviously had no qualms about saying things in public. Including on on RPDR Season 4. I find it very had to believe that neither WOW nor Aquaria (though I could more readily be convinced of the latter's innocence) had heard of things before they spoke up (has WOW ever acknowledged that Sharon Needles said the things she is alleged to have said on Season 4?).
Its really interesting when you learn that the reason why other people didnt like working with sharoon was actually cause she was very problematic with how she interacted with others instead of her style as it was portrayed ln the show. This is sort of mentioned too on sister rivalry (not sure which episode but there is a compilation of every time the 2 of them talked about each winner) were they explain that in the past many queens didnt feel like they could speak out against someone like sharoon

In January of this year, it marked 10 years since Season 4 first aired. Latrice posted on their story the cast in the promo for the season to celebrate and tagged Sharon. So Latrice seems to like Sharon to some extent.

A very long time ago I was in a facebook fan group for Sharon Needles. She had just released Ouija Board and a fan said, and I quote, "it missed the mark." Sharon took this very personally and wigged out. Ever since then I haven't been a fan. My opinion has only gown down further since then.
I know a lot of Pittsburgh queens greatly dislike Sharon and won’t even work with her. A few even prefer hanging out and working with Alaska than Sharon.

They were local queens that have not been on Drag Race. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of them and I can’t remember exactly who as this conversation was five years ago. I’m pretty sure one of them was VyVyan Vyxn who was seen on an episode of one of the Real Housewives shows performing for the wives and knows many of the Drag Race queens as she has done shows with them in the US with Roxxy Andrews being mentioned the most.

I knew Annecy and was around the same age heavy in the community. It was weird throughout the whole relationship and my friends and I have always talked about multiple wrong things that went down. Especially the vines. And when we watched her go on the cruise. She’s a lovely person and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. My queen was always the kindest to me! ♥️

- Gaga was huge back then, so that had a huge influence. Even Sharon admitted that;

I absolutely agree. I honestly get a bad feeling from Alaska too, but that’s because she participated in some less savory things (public oral, pretending to be a dog while Sharon fucks her on stage). She was my favorite from season 4, but I started to watch that season again yesterday and noticed in the first episode she made a joke about being an obese Latin under drag and Jiggly was pissed about it.

When we had PhiPhi perform shortly after the cruise, she snuck out of her house and was waiting in the parking lot of the bar (around midnight) to meet her.

I never liked Sharon, she always seemed grimey to me. I always liked Willam because Willam calls people out. I noticed that Sharon never really did anything after her Drag Race season. Unlike other queens who have gone on to make a name for themselves. I also never disliked Phi Phi and felt bad with the way Phi Phi was treated on season 4 and afterwards. I'm glad that Jaremi is doing well.

I’m not defending anyone, but some of the adults who were in the room during the incident on the cruise said that they tried to tell Annecy to get out of the room due to the drugs and everything but they (Annecy) refused and said they’re fine with being around drugs.

Its quite well known that Annecy made up these allegations. They were called out on it a couple of years ago because they tried to make similar allegations to a number of other drag race queens. She provided no evidence to back up their story. When they were confronted with the truth on reddit, they deleted their account. Plus if they had half the evidence they claimed they had, Sharon would have been arrested by now. Its all bullshit especially since its a 15 yr old we are talking about.
I don't know also if everyone realizes how much proof there is of everything Annecy said. At one point they made a google drive folder with all of it. I think they got overwhelmed though and stopped posting about all of it as far as I know.. there was videos of Sharon giving them alcohol etc.. the fact that Sharon felt comfortable taking those videos is rlly disturbing..and telling
I don’t generally keep up with whatever goes on behind the scenes, so it’s news to me. It’s very disappointing. I liked Sharon. Not so much now. None of these behaviors are acceptable from anyone. It’s toxic, gross and sad. I used to not like Willam, but he keeps popping up in these stories as someone who stands up for people and does the right thing, so yay Willam.
