u can't beat the old style terraced grounds these all seaters have ruined the atmosphere at most grounds especially the prem teams

That was brill , Sheron was always good enough for the prem a real class act ! That was vales best ever team fer me and I’m stoke season ticket holder 39 years so was at the match! Great too hear big Ron on commentary! Enjoyed that cheers

I was the assistant groundsman at Stoke back then, you actually see me at half time, I'm the one on the left. I was always sent towards the away end to put the divots back and I remember taking some proper abuse off the Fail fans. It was well worth it though 😂 What a game and what a great atmosphere in the Vic. How cool did Delilah sound 🥳Special memories of that ground it was a proper intimidating place for the away team with the fans so close to the pitch. It was a real privilege to work there during the Macari era and he was, apart from being a great manager also a top bloke. Up The Mighty Potters! ✌️😎

Wow just watched this, so long ago. What a day 30 yrs old back then. Still go now. Hasn’t it all changed. Loved the Victoria. Proper football days out.

Loved it and miss it Peter, never be the same again football wont now.. Its a money game and if you haven't got it , you can forget going anywhere if ever making the Prem. They ought to make it a 8 Team Division, because in my humble opinion there are only ever going to be 8 teams that will win it ( ok Liecester was a one off lol. Take care and stay safe my friend.

@@oldnook totally true Jon. Even went 2 away matches in jan and feb this year with the guys I went that match. Still have a great time. Think we are looking much better this season and fingers crossed we improve and make the playoffs. Thx for the comments and enjoy the memories 👍

@@Inmyopinion10101 hi mate. Yes we are looking a decent team this year, we do need a goal scorer though. We could still make the play offs if we could get wins against poor teams instead of getting a point. Lets keep our fingers crossed my friend. (Y)

Vale fan here, I was in they away end right behind the goal and glad I went to the last ever potteries derby at they old Stoke’s Victoria ground, it was a cracking atmosphere and always has been and have to say Stoke were the better side all through out the game, the problem was with Vale the pressure was getting to us before the game, we missed out on they automatic promotion spot and lost to Stoke and lost on a play off spot too

Hi Billy , great reply there mate, only just seen it. I have always been Stoke, even though a cousin of mine played for the Vale back in the 70s, 74-77 I think, Terry Bailey is his name, he came from Stafford Rangers to you. Always loved the atmosphere be it at the Vic or Vale Park. Shame we both out on promotion in the same season. If you see this Stay safe and take care my friend.
