2052 will see a trend to retro 1950's bakelite knobs and crt screens. Can't wait!

It's a real tribute to Dr Jarvis in the year 2052 that he uses an oscilloscope from 1952 and gets such great results. A true genius!

I agree! The scene took place two months before I was born, in 1952. Fun serendipity for me.

18:22 *The stage manager forgot to light the Bunsen Burner.*
The actors had to improvise and say that the formula burnt up when it fell off the table out of sight of the camera.

The little ad for the Sci-Fi channel. I remember that and yes I called my cable company and asked then to carry the Science Fiction Channel.
I was especially excited because I had thought of the idea a couple of years before and couldn't stop talking about how what the world really needs is a cable channel devoted to Science Fiction.
I was kind of disappointed when I did finally get the channel on our carrier but hey, you cant have everything.
This is the kind of content I had in mind, not that schlocky 90s crap they were showing.

Before the advent of video tape the only way to record a video image was to point a movie film camera at a television monitor. That is what you are seeing here. This was performed live and the video image was recorded on film. These films would later be transferred to video tape and eventually digitized but you're still watching a movie of a TV image.

Speaking of Time Television, those of you with Amazon Prime should check out
    *Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes*
A clever Sci-fi story where two video monitors somehow become linked except for a two minute time gap.
They can only see each other but one shows the past and the other the future.
First it's fun but then they feel compelled to do what their future selves have already done. Then things go wrong.
    *Oh. Turn on subtitles.*

No. That technology was still being developed at the time. Imagine 1/4 inch tape running at 240 inches per second. A two foot reel could only hold a few minutes of video.
The only solution at the time was a special movie camera synchronized to a video monitor to eliminate flickering. That's a nice trick with a 24 frame per second camera and a 60 interlaced fields per second screen.
