You have stumbled upon what millions regard as the finest lyric soprano currently performing....review her many performances online...she sings opera, classics, movie scores, musical scores, sacred aria, crossover, and gospel. Her performances are often magnificent. She is now about 20 yo. As Andre said, "what a voice!"
Amira now older is still amazing. This was a 9 year old who channeled the soul of a 30 year old soprano. To people of secular belief, that just does not happen. To those who have a religious bent, these little miracles are reminders of HIS presence. Be what it may, faith is involved.... if it science, she is one in 10 million singers over generations that won the soprano natural lottery. Be it divine intervention, the faithful are reinforced. I think the tears on the faces of many in the audience know what they saw and heard and the emotions did a bypass on scientific train of thought. You can't hide that.I cry every time I listen to her. Amazingly she is self taught at that age. Sam, I love your heartfelt emotions and empathetic responses.

I love listening to Amira. You should check out all he content... but start with her Hollands Got Talent audition... at that point she was just self taught to sing opera.

During an interview a few years ago, Amira said : "When I jump on my trampoline and I float in the air, it's the most beautiful feeling, the same feeling I get when I sing... And then I suddenly fly to a different world and stuff".
Indeed, sometimes, Amira seemed to be completely lost in her inner musical world. This was especially the case during her rendition of the Ave Maria by William Gomez, that Andrew mentioned. It was really impressive, and, given her age, maybe her best performance until now...
I definitely recommend, as others have, the Holland's got talent auditions. They explain it, as much as it can be explained, which is both in depth, and non-existent. In short, she is a complete paradox. And now that she is grown up, she is even better.

Powerfully emotional performance. She was looking for something to sing for a talent show at school, and found Opera on CZcams and thought it sounded beautiful, so she started practicing. Not long after she went on Holland's Got Talent and blew everyone's minds.
She hasn't stopped amazing people with her performances. all of them are special in their own way. Don't miss any of them. You will be rewarded in many ways.
Amira was 9 when she sang at Hollands got talent, 10 in this video. She has been singing since then, and there are some stunning and beautiful pieces on CZcams. She will be 20 later this month, Mar 2024, and is studying music at university. She is Dutch, but her mother came from South Africa, and that is where she is now living.

Really enjoyed your reaction to Amira. I discovered Amira because I have been a fan of Jackie Evancho since seeing her oh America's Got Talent in 2010. Jackie had messaged Amira after her first performance on Holland's Got Talent. Amira was thrilled Jackie had reached out to her, and they are still keep in touch. Jackie had created such an uproar with her first performance on AGT, that ALL the Got Talent Shows Worldwide began actively searching for young kids that could sing. Holland's Got Talent got lucky in 2013 and found Amira. The Built their whole 2013 Season around Amira. Amira often sings songs she has seen Jackie perform. This is one of those. Jackie is the youngest solo vocalist to go Platinum, taking that title away from Michael Jackson when she was 10 years old. They filmed her first PBS Great Performances Special 4 days after her 11th Birthday, David Foster produced it, and got Barbra Streisand to do a duet of her Classic "Somewhere" with Jackie. You would love that, but in truth I am believe you will love everything Jackie has sung. And I would love to watch your reactions. i believe Amira's 1st album, "Amira" (Sony) went Platinum when she was just 10 as well.
They dispersed in style vastly. Amira sings soprano on the highest level while JE is more pop oriented..

One was Slippedisk That claims it is the #1 Classical Music News Site. I am NO FAN of that site nor their editor and #1 Troll Norman Lebrecht.
They started attacking Jackie the day after she appeared on AGT in 2010. Several opera snobs lead by Lebrecht got their stuck in the air noses out of joint because AGT fans referring to Jackie as being a beautiful opera singer, and they weren't going to put up with that, so they attacked the "ignorant" fans and Jackie. But returning to NOW, I mean March 29, 2013, Chief Troll Norman wrote, "Amira's No Threat Yet To Heart-Tugging Jackie Evancho." And in Norman's typical snotty troll fashion he continued, saying all of Sony's sales personnel could not push their "Amira" sales to the number one spot. And added in his trademark nasty sarcastic troll fashion. "Meanwhile, Jackie Evancho was making tears Flow on Memorial Day."
(referring to Jackie's performances at the outdoor concert being held in Washington, D.C. to celebrate Memorial Day) That site only listed U.S sales to 29 March 2013.
