Although, I might watch the cartoon anyways, because Eggman told me to. Pretty good marketing, actually. As a matter of fact, all products should be advertised by Eggman. Especially hair care products.
I was pretty skeptical of this whole "Sonic Boom" thing at first, when that teaser silhouette picture was released. But now, I can't wait for the show and even more so the game to be released. Zinna the Mongoose I can totally see where you're coming from... but that seems highly unlikely for a "Comedy series" That small bit of gameplay they showed on the computer screen. This feels like one of those 4 character co-op games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Ratchet and Clank All 4 One. Don't get me wrong, I sort of don't want this to fail... but I'm still extremely nervous. We've been promised good things by SEGA in the past and have gotten complete crap (Sonic 06)

In this Knuckles sounds a bit like the big, dumb jock type. Reading the comics, I know he's intelligent and it just hurts that the best written character in the comics still isn't getting his due. And if this extends to Amy and Tails, I'm gonna be sad. And I read some of the episodes are gonna be like. They are going to be eleven minute episodes (don't know why more people seem to be gravitating towards this), no over-arching plot (self-contained which nothing is wrong with that but it kills a lot of possibilities for the show), the demographic is for kids 6-11 (here's where things get dicey), and the episodes are going to be like the scenario of the week (Eggman fakes an injury to take Sonic to court and Knuckles is Mayor for a day). I'm gonna give it a shot (two-three episodes), but that's it. I just want a show based off Archie Comics done a little more seriously (as it was really campy in the beginning, there are some plot holes that need to be addressed, and they need more character building done).

And for those of you still complaining about Amy's "Minnie voice", maybe you need to look into Kingdom Hearts before you use that as a derogatory again. Also, I'm confident in Cindy's ability to express emotion in her characters, given her experience with the BlazBlue series (this goes to Travis as well despite the differences between the characters he voices, and I'd be pleased as punch if the real Mike Pollock were to pass this on to them). Back to the designs for a tick, there are practical reasons behind the "scarves, bandages and steroids", as once quoted on Feedbackula. Knux being top-heavy makes sense since he uses his upper body the most - not only for fighting, but also for climbing and digging (animals in real life use their forelimbs for digging). The athletic tape is for binding the arms (S/A/K), feet (S/T) and back (Amy) to reduce the risk of self-injury. And Sonic's scarf is to divert the air blowing on his neck to minimize the risk of wind chill, like the pilots of the early aviation era and World War I - imagine that. It also works as a makeshift mask if Sonic has to go out into a sandstorm. And one last thing - if anyone decides to trash the series because some of its writers also do Friendship is Magic, I will end you, and I'm not a brony. It's just that after the sea of faeces known as the Twilight Saga, MLP can't fix the female self-image fast enough, and it needs all the help it can get. Bullshit. Games like Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations sold well and are generally well-received. Just because you can't please EVERYONE in a fandom doesn't mean the fandom as a whole is unpleasable.
Always good to see more than one voice actor in a recording session. It means they are working off each other and making the conversations between characters feel more natural. :)

No offense to Cindy... but that Amy voice is bad... really bad. Bad enough to make me miss the 4kids voice actress. It's most likely the voice directors fault though. This honestly sounds like a horrible Minnie Mouse rip off that would make most newcomers change the channel in a heartbeat. I'm not saying to get rid of Cindy, but see if she can pull off a different kind of voice for Amy. Roger... sounds different here. This is probably the most mellow Sonic voice I've ever heard. Still not a fan for his tone of voice for Sonic. But I can tolerate it. I still feel it was a bad idea to get someone who is known for some pretty manly voices (Ezio, Chris Redfield) to voice someone like Sonic. Feel free to bash me here... but I feel Josh Keaton from the likes of the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon would be a really cool choice if they had to get someone new. Or just go back to Ryan Drummond (yes I know what happened around Generations and how he was supposed to come back but couldn't thanks to union fees) The new Tails from what I've heard sounds just like Kate Higgins (so far), no complaints here. Anything's better than the 4kids Tails voice, and the direction Kate Higgins took is probably the best thing to go off of. So I'm gonna welcome Colleen Villard with an open mind. Travis is pretty decent as Knuckles and he sounds better here. I miss the knuckles voice from Sonic Heroes though. I also don't like how Knuckles is still retaining the status of "The dumb one." It started slightly sometime before generations and now it's horribly obvious here. You can make Knuckles funny without making him go full moron. Mike Pollock IS Eggman, I can't see anyone else doing it. I hope he stays as Eggman... forever. The designs on the characters themselves, I don't mind the accessories, however that sports tape is still slightly obnoxious looking, I feel if they tones it down a bit it would look better. Fight me all you want on this but I know some pretty dedicated athletes that say Sonic's sports tape on his shoes looks like a 5 year old did it. The scarf is pretty cool though. I feel the blue arms though... need to be changed back. No this is not "GREEN EYES" all over again, I just honestly feel it's a bad design choice, especially if the goal for this show is to introduce new people and children to the Sonic franchise. This also goes for Knuckle's new beefy look. Also... the character models for the game look silly compared to the TV SHOW COUNTER PART. Please fix them BigRedButton! To say the least, I'm happy this isn't replacing the main stream sonic, I'm just praying the final product won't turn into something like "Crash Mind over Mutant" all over again. I will give the new game a try and check out the tv show when it comes out.
By the way, THIS is how you actually record voice acting. In person, so you're practically having the conversation with the other characters as you record. That said, Amy still has her Minnie Mouse voice, which is really irritating.
Actually, her voice seems like it might be slightly better this time around compared to Sonic Lost World. If what we hear in this video is a "deliberately fake acting" voice, than her normal voice might actually be listenable. IMO Sonic Heroes had the best Amy, though. Even if Colours, Generations, and Lost World do every other character far better than the rest of the series.

What the...Roy Mustang/Guile is the new Knuckles on steroids?! Sonic still has the voice of Chris Redfield. In the past, I was used to seeing Cindy Robinson voicing as a serious toned character such as L.egretta the Quick or Zola, but not as a characteristics like Amy. And Tails got a new voice actor who's name I don't recognize. Update: I didn't realize Colleen O'Shaughnessey got married recently and changed her last name to Villard.

Yeah, I agree. That and the endless stream of fight ups that went with it. Fighting enemies can be cool and all, but when they lump it together on you TIME after TIME, then yeah, it becomes a bit boring for me. If she can more more freely and in good control movement, then yes, she could just well be the Werehog we could have had! I'm not saying I hated the werehog stages, I just thought that some areas of his gameplay were weak, that's all.
The DarkFox She also seems to take out enemies pretty fast, for example - The clip with her spin-attack. And I believe they said somewhere that they're trying to improve the difficulty of the game as it goes on without just making enemies have more health. So I think it will be fine. Plus, the werehog levels were really long. While I can't say how long the levels in this game are, I doubt they'll make them last for 30 minutes like some of Unleashed's levels did.
I'm actually greatly looking forward to this game. Because apart from the exploration elements, I'm also liking the difficulty improving as time goes on thing, as you say. I think this game is going to be a good highlight of my life.

I've gotten pretty use to this va for sonic. I understand some people have issues but I guess I should feel blessed i can enjoy these VA's without it ruining my experience =) Cant wait to see all this new sonic universe has to offer!

MastaGambit Seriously, this debate again? Ryan didn't want to relocate when 4Kids took over, so Jason was paid to emulate Ryan. (and speaking as someone who grew up with Jaleel's voice, Jason definitely improved as time went on. Hell, I thought he sounded better in Sonic-X than in the games, so really, I'd put it down to bad direction on SEGA's part.)
I know the fandom will never ever be pleased, but I for one, am! Looking forward to both the game AND the tv series! :D
Bullshit. Games like Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations sold well and are generally well-received. Just because you can't please EVERYONE in a fandom doesn't mean the fandom as a whole is unpleasable.

Always good to see more than one voice actor in a recording session. It means they are working off each other and making the conversations between characters feel more natural. :)

No offense to Cindy... but that Amy voice is bad... really bad. Bad enough to make me miss the 4kids voice actress. It's most likely the voice directors fault though. This honestly sounds like a horrible Minnie Mouse rip off that would make most newcomers change the channel in a heartbeat. I'm not saying to get rid of Cindy, but see if she can pull off a different kind of voice for Amy.
Roger... sounds different here. This is probably the most mellow Sonic voice I've ever heard. Still not a fan for his tone of voice for Sonic. But I can tolerate it. I still feel it was a bad idea to get someone who is known for some pretty manly voices (Ezio, Chris Redfield) to voice someone like Sonic. Feel free to bash me here... but I feel Josh Keaton from the likes of the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon would be a really cool choice if they had to get someone new. Or just go back to Ryan Drummond (yes I know what happened around Generations and how he was supposed to come back but couldn't thanks to union fees)
The new Tails from what I've heard sounds just like Kate Higgins (so far), no complaints here. Anything's better than the 4kids Tails voice, and the direction Kate Higgins took is probably the best thing to go off of. So I'm gonna welcome Colleen Villard with an open mind.
Travis is pretty decent as Knuckles and he sounds better here. I miss the knuckles voice from Sonic Heroes though. I also don't like how Knuckles is still retaining the status of "The dumb one." It started slightly sometime before generations and now it's horribly obvious here. You can make Knuckles funny without making him go full moron.
Mike Pollock IS Eggman, I can't see anyone else doing it. I hope he stays as Eggman... forever.
The designs on the characters themselves, I don't mind the accessories, however that sports tape is still slightly obnoxious looking, I feel if they tones it down a bit it would look better. Fight me all you want on this but I know some pretty dedicated athletes that say Sonic's sports tape on his shoes looks like a 5 year old did it. The scarf is pretty cool though. I feel the blue arms though... need to be changed back. No this is not "GREEN EYES" all over again, I just honestly feel it's a bad design choice, especially if the goal for this show is to introduce new people and children to the Sonic franchise. This also goes for Knuckle's new beefy look. Also... the character models for the game look silly compared to the TV SHOW COUNTER PART. Please fix them BigRedButton!
To say the least, I'm happy this isn't replacing the main stream sonic, I'm just praying the final product won't turn into something like "Crash Mind over Mutant" all over again. I will give the new game a try and check out the tv show when it comes out.

Actually, her voice seems like it might be slightly better this time around compared to Sonic Lost World. If what we hear in this video is a "deliberately fake acting" voice, than her normal voice might actually be listenable.
IMO Sonic Heroes had the best Amy, though. Even if Colours, Generations, and Lost World do every other character far better than the rest of the series.

In the past, I was used to seeing Cindy Robinson voicing as a serious toned character such as L.egretta the Quick or Zola, but not as a characteristics like Amy.
And Tails got a new voice actor who's name I don't recognize.
Update: I didn't realize Colleen O'Shaughnessey got married recently and changed her last name to Villard.

wow this clears up all my skepticism with this whole sonic boom thing now. I'm actually looking forward to the T.V. show and the game now. I really dig what they are trying to do in the show so far from what i have seen, it doesn't seem horribly cheesy to the point where an adult like myself cant to sit back and watch and enjoy it

Since when did tough guy mean heavyweight champion? There are guys out there that can break bricks with their hands and they're smaller than I am! I always thought knuckles' strength came from the spikes on his fist and his fighting technique rather than raw physical power. I mean isn't this the same knuckles that's supposed to be able to glide through the air? Oh man, would that be hilarious to see with this design.

Amy's Level design and pipe swinging platforming has deep hints of the Werehog gameplay about it.
As long as she's faster than the werehog and we don't have to go through slow block pushing or strength tests or bullshit like that, I'm really looking forward to her gameplay.
Yeah, I agree. That and the endless stream of fight ups that went with it. Fighting enemies can be cool and all, but when they lump it together on you TIME after TIME, then yeah, it becomes a bit boring for me. If she can more more freely and in good control movement, then yes, she could just well be the Werehog we could have had! I'm not saying I hated the werehog stages, I just thought that some areas of his gameplay were weak, that's all.

She also seems to take out enemies pretty fast, for example - The clip with her spin-attack. And I believe they said somewhere that they're trying to improve the difficulty of the game as it goes on without just making enemies have more health. So I think it will be fine.
Plus, the werehog levels were really long. While I can't say how long the levels in this game are, I doubt they'll make them last for 30 minutes like some of Unleashed's levels did.
I'm actually greatly looking forward to this game. Because apart from the exploration elements, I'm also liking the difficulty improving as time goes on thing, as you say. I think this game is going to be a good highlight of my life.
