    The most dangerous thing about Kingpin is that Daredevil, Spider-Man and Punisher won't kill him because if any of them did New York would be overrun by crime bosses trying to take his place and they believe New York's criminal underworld is safer with Fisk in charge of it.

    I actually prefer Kingpin in Daredevil series because he's more developed and he's very dark as a crime boss in New York City. I'm glad that the TV series makes Kingpin as a good villain which we saw him just seeing paintings, tells his back story of being a businessman, and whenever the crook can't obey his loyalty, he beats right away which is brutally bloody. Vincent D'Offario (Sorry to hard to pronounce his last name) did a good job to portray as tough villain who wants to be defeated and stick closely like the comics or other source materials in each comic. Duncan was okay as a bad guy, not so much and pretty forgettable that I don't see his character to developed, but this one is more interesting. Let's hope we can see him again in Season 2.

    • @getmario64
      @getmario64 Před 8 lety +5

      +White girl slayer 69 Yes, I've seen Season 2 and only five more episodes. The new Punisher looks awesome and beyond very dark. Jon Beranthal did a great job for portraying as a anti-hero who comes to Hell's Kitchen and kills many mobs for his lost tragic of his family. Good replacement for the Punisher and I'm more fan of Thomas Jane in "The Punisher" because he takes his original Punisher as whole new level. Didn't find Kingpin in it, so let's wait until next time because this show is so cool.

    I was SO happy when I learned he was cast as Kingpin originally...such ideal casting. I can't think of another actor who could possibly play Kingpin in future films (hopefully he'll show up in the "Amazing Spider-Man" films, or a "Daredevil" reboot). There's not another actor I know of who has Duncan's sheer size and immense presence, and combines all that with an innate intelligence and grace that feels appropriate for the Kingpin.
    SO sad he's gone.

      People who are naturally starved down to anything below 5% body fat over a long period of time begin to experience health issues of all sorts (example, Jews in the holocaust,), this is why slave owners in America actually beefed up they're slaves because they knew if they were starved like the Jews of ancient Egypt they would whither and die, so in response to your comment above, again I say....

      Alexandros Doane Originally Nick Fury was white. In the Ultimate universe Nick Fury was tailored to look like Samuel L Jackson. They actually went and go his permission for that. Of course Jackson went on to play Fury in the films. To be hoenst, I'm not sure which came first: Marvel casting Jackson because of the comic, or them doing the comic like that because they knew they'd be getting Jackson into the moves. Meanwhile the main 616 universe kept with a white Nick Fury. However, once Marvel NOW occured Fury was retconned to black to match the film universe as well.

    I've always thought of Fisk as a Class 2 Mutant, according to my personal formula:
    Class 1: Mutation offers no enhanced, super-human ability, but only unusual physical alterations, like blue hair or purple eyes.
    Class 2: Mutation offers minor enhanced super-human ability, but nothing beyond what a human might be able to obtain with a lifetime's training or body modification.
    Class 3: Mutation offers mid-range ability, making the mutant capable of self-contained weapon or protective status, or some form of vehicle-quality self transportation.
    Class 4: Mutation offers weapon, protective or transportation ability rivaling high-grade weapons status, high-yield defensive status, and/or supersonic / instantaneous speeds.
    Class 5: Mutation offers abilities that actually change and / or bend the laws of physics themselves.
    Under my formula, mutants like Cyclops and Gambit are Class 3, Professor X and Wolverine would be Class 4, and Phoenix or Scarlet Witch would be a Class 5.

    It's kind of a shame that they haven't put Kingpin in the Spider-Man movies. he makes a better nemesis than the Green Goblin. I like the Daredevil movies, Ben Affleck was a good Daredevil along with the late great Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin. John-Rhys Davies from the tv series Sliders & Raiders of the lost Ark Fame played Kingpin in Trial of the Incredible Hulk, back in 1989 too. with Rex Smith (Street hawk) as Daredevil.

      ***** The thing about Green Goblin is that he began as a shit character. He did nothing truly noteworthy until he threw Gwen off a bridge, which didn't kill her. Spiderman's webbing made a sudden stop that snapped her neck. Then GG died. For a long time, that was all there was to the Goblin. Harry became the next goblin, and his psychiatrist followed after. Still kind of a shit villain. Then there was the clone saga. The writers had admitted at one point that they didn't know where they were going with the story, so when the end came, they pulled something out of their ass: Norman Osborn was behind it all. Interesting twist, but utter bullshit. His heart was impaled and destroyed. Norman actually says that his formula gave him a healing factor and his heart mended. But that doesn't make sense since his heart couldn't pump blood to allow his body to do anything. All of that cemented his place as Spiderman's nemesis, but personally, I can't view him as such. He's boring and became the nemesis through incompetent writers. Venom or Doctor Octopus make far more sense. I'm a big Spiderman fan, but I more tolerate the Green Goblins, Hobgoblin, Demogoblin and Grey Goblin than enjoy their presence.

But I like how they give him a back story before he puts on the suit like they did for "Bale" in Batman begins. Most superhero movies they already show the person in the suit rather then how he became who he is to wear the suit.

The dude is ripped to all heck, has beautiful and emotional acting skills, speaks English clearly with a great accent, looks fat in clothes with sleeves, and can kick butt (watch his fight with The Rock in F&F6). Just shave his head, and he's perfect for the role. I love his indie films.

      Anyways courtesy of Vincent D'Ornofiro he's going to be a 100% caucasian in the Daredevil Netflix series and look like he stepped right out of the comic book pages, and don't turn this into a race flame war people, Duncan was great as the Kingpin, he was IMHO the only good thing about that movie,
      but I really want to see what dark demons D'Onofiro 'Private Pyle'

      If the character is black, then fine. I'm cool with black super hero or villain.
      I don't care. But these race changes just because political correct are just annoying. But just as alike, I would be frustrated if they'd turn black character white.
      While I don't expect every detail to go down to a spot, I still expect details to be as close as possible and different skin color big detail to get wrong.
      If you are making a movie and can't get character/event details even remotely right, then don't do a movie at all.
      Sure, I am open for certain degree of artistic freedom but I also expect that they get at least the basics right. Such as skin color, sexual orientation, who they date with, what's their role, personality and so on and so forth.

    I'm going to get flamed and attacked real hard by a lot of you CZcamsrs, but here is my opinion on Race changes in these movies:
    1.) I'm not trying to be racist here, but there truly is no other way that is going to come off. But why must EVERY character that gets changed from European, or any other Caucasian background be changed to be of black decent? Why can't we fucking change it to be a Oriental? An Indian? Why must it be black? Explain.
    2.) It's stupid to change the race of a character solely to appease racial matters. I get most people are angry that these super heroes aren't "Black" and they are mainly "white" but a lot of people aren't complaining that the heroes that are actually black aren't getting movies. People should be complaining about that and get writers to create a movie based on their respective races.
    -as small as the list was because I decided I wanted to keep it brief so I can go into why I find these things to be racist all in themselves.
    Just because characters are white, doesn't mean you should go and change them "black" just to appease that one race. Everyone in the Marvel Universe is being changed to Black, why? Why the fuck must they be black? Why can't they be Chinese? Why can't they be Japanese? Why not Indian? Why not Native? If you say "Because they were enslaved for many years! So of course this has to be it!" then you're fucking pathetic and that is a weak argument that I hear so often. So were the Chinese, and definitely the Natives. Fuck, The Natives are so few in numbers now that it is laughable to say African's have suffered worse than they have.
    Johnny Storm's race is going from White to Black and that is just bullshit. I don't need to see black people rape my movies anymore. Diversify my fucking movies by making them Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, or Native NOT fucking Black just to appease people. Fuck it. I guess I should expect in about 2 more years to for Batman to be a Black man, or Superman to be a Black man JUST to appease black people. But who cares about Natives, or the rest of the world because well... Black people. Fucking done. FUCK it.

    • @dayjman25
      @dayjman25 Před 10 lety +3

      I don't personally think they look for specific races when they reboot a lot of these movies. I feel that they indeed keep racial diversity in mind since it's a newer age, but at the end of the day look for the man (or woman) that conveys the character in the best light purely based on acting skill and overall representation. I'm not saying Asians and Natives or whoever else besides blacks are not capable of representing traditionally white heroes or villains well....once again, I just believe they examine certain actors' skills and cast who fits the part.

    • @GeekedOutNeckbeard
      @GeekedOutNeckbeard Před 10 lety +1

      DayjMan No, when they change a race it's because of "racism" and not just solely the actors traits.
      There are ample amount of actors and unknown and faceless actors that could most likely fit the parts perfectly, but they will not do that. It's a marketing ploy. It's retarded. And I am getting fed up.
      "African" Americans are among the most racist people on the planet.

    • @dayjman25
      @dayjman25 Před 9 lety +3

      Jonny Apples I agree with your point on the white actors being chosen because they were best suited for the role (my initial point with Makoto Kazuki). I just want to add though that race swaps from white to other races aren't always necessarily to appease whatever race they are changed to. Yes, I believe they are trying to re-imagine characters to be more racially diverse at times, but at the same time they wouldn't pick any random black guy out of a barrel and give him the role....they want the best actor suited for the role at the end of the day.

      Arinze Ihezue I am sure that there are a handful of other minorities(And let's be real here, blacks, browns, and yellows aren't really minorities anymore :P ) But I know that there are numerous people heading out for roles. It's entertainment the one stop cash cow if you get lucky.
      The thing is, in any business if the employers are looking for a certain race, gender etc, then they won't hire anyone else until that certain race, or gender is found with decent acting skills.
      Human Torch, from what my understanding wasn't a robot ever. He was added into the series after it was becoming a bore. Since there were only the 3 plus this robot companion that the Fantastic 4 had. But they decided to add someone else in, and it was the Human Torch(From my understanding and memories of the origins of the character.) So yes, I can still be agitated at the racial swap. Heck, even if I am wrong about the origin of the Human Torch, it then brings me back to my original point; "Why must he be black?"
      I like your reply because you weren't an asshole, and gave me a good, and thoughtful reply, instead throwing me the "YOU'RE RACIST YOUR PRICK!" Type of comments. Thanks for that :)
