Ar Eighteen there's a good quick video on proko about how an artist uses lots of colour to paint. It explains how to learn about colour through using lots of it, and pushing that limitation someone puts on themsleves cause they dont understand how to use it. This practice results in you being able to see more variations and subtle changes of colour in the real world
If you look at the dress, it is clearly not photographic, but that is what's nice about this painting; with so little brush strokes it looks like an incredible robe!

All of your works are so live, so dynamic... It's not just beautiful. It is breathtaking! Like I saw something that wonderful that is says "don't make picture. Make art". And every portrait, every landscape, still life looks poor and flat now. Like... without soul. Your art inspire to create scene with some history (like we did in chilhood). I'm really grateful for this filling. Thank you, that you create such an amazing things and share with as (allow to touch smth incredible).
Making those perspective buildings in SketchUP and drawing later is brilliant idea ! Its makes drawing in perspective a lot easier and you don't have to worry about all the vanishing points and stuff, simply brilliant !
its not like i would know, but i highly suspect that studying photos would help. the best digital artists all seem to draw as though it were a photo, and indeed i cant tell if they took reference pictures or not. i think you could get quite far just by doing paintovers and studying how the light reflects, how colors blend and reflects, what materials light shine through and how and were, and try to work that into your style, so that your brain will keep comparing it and thinking of ways to apply what you've just done you cant really logically calculate or math your way out of this, only get familiar enough with reality that you feel it instinctively, is my guess, wlop uses so many little tricks that it would take ages to cover in a tutorial and even so you'd need to work it over and through
There’s a lot of good videos that deal with color but most of it is studies from other artists You notice that they don’t use a lot of value, but just the main ones (lights, shadows, reflective)

Hoping there would be more soon, but currently it seems there are only 8 ch. How you know WLOP is a girl? Either way, I hope it is for ch 9.
I find it kinda funny my layers are an organized mess exactly like WLOPs. This is still my favorite piece by WLOP. I just can't get over the female's gesture and that line of action/leading line into her face crossing the center of the image. The framing is great and love how she is put slightly off center. The orange reflective highlight that was needed also reads well. And then the use of birds for a stop in time and chaos, as well as the one to add a foreground element. The knights in the back help to sell the grandios of the building and keep eyes from going off the canvas. *Nerds out and Vomiting Rainbows* xP ***Note to self: Use sketch up more often***
try looking at manhuas, they all pretty much use other programs to model their settings, and when they understand color theory well, you can end up with every frame of comic just being so beautiful. just try looking at kings' maker on lezhin comics real quick. im amazed that wlop can consistently get the perspectives right, even though it seems they dont use programs all that often
