He totally deserves to make a fortune off of this.

@BlackWhiskey 7 Exactly right! Which is why none of this stuff existed prior to the United States. 250,000 years of humans on earth and all of this technology is invented in the last 200 years? Why do you think that is?

Yea, but theres got to be away to use it so it seems racist or violent? Hmmm... Call the woke squad!
This won't only prevent successful kidnappings, but can also be used in situations where a malfunctioning car won't stop. A fantastic invention.
I instantly thought of that Hyundai a while back whose accelerator got stuck and the cops could do nothing
Hopefully this puts an end to Pit.... Way way too dangenrous.
While this invention is a great idea, it's not going to "prevent" anyone from getting away with committing crimes. That's like saying laws themselves prevent crime.
@@nckhed by prevent he means that it'll make it much harder for people to get away during a police chase afterkidnapping someone.
@@ButterfatFarms ah so you suggest that the cops should do a pit maneuver huh? Oh look little Timmy is splattered all across the pavement because a cop decided to do a pit maneuver on a kidnappers car.
Just because a cop is right behind a kidnappers car doesn't mean they won't get away, it's still difficult to get around a speeding car that's actively trying to prevent you from getting past.
Every dealt with one of those dumbasses on the road who try to force you to stop? Yeah imagine that except the car isn't trying to get you to stop, just trying to stop you from getting passed them at extreme speeds.
Everything else used to stop a car without getting in front of them is incredibly likely to end in a wreck, which all can be lethal.
Reminds me of the car that lost control of all brakes and couldn't stop. The police also couldn't really stomp him because any methods they had would be far too dangerous. Imagine if they had this.
you can slam it in park and your drive shaft will not move due to transmission lockers it might break but you will stop now if that beast is huge it might be hard but I would think those police cars wieght would be around 7000+ just take a money truck out there with a good gear ratio and nothing will pull you down the roadway for officers of corse that is. lol just ideas off the top of my head.
The emergency brake is a "mechanical" device that still works when your hydraulic brakes fail. Just pull up on the lever or stomp of the pedal is all it takes.

I was fortunate not to get hurt or hurt anyone else during my career but that’s luck as much as it is skill.

This is one of the first "new police tech" devices i've seen that have actually gone from being just a prototype, to being a fully functional tool in the police force. That's awesome. Really shows just how effective it is.
I can see why, it's not reliant on computer technology and has practical uses
@@rushimapa697 practical uses AND it's apparently highly effective.
Fairly Inexpensive option (considering), simple to maintain, universal use against all vehicle types, reusable and inexpensive to bring back into service (cost for the new nylon netting), safer than the PIT for the suspect vehicle occupants plus the executing police vehicle plus bystanders, it stays hidden from view, doesn’t require a police vehicle to lose its front push bumper, it just has a new type of bumper. The only cons really is it seems to have a high/tall profile to fit the telescoping/pantograph unfolding arms so only larger police vehicles like SUVs and trucks can be equipped with it, so no police cars like Impalas, Malibu’s, or Chargers etc. The other con being the police vehicle has to get close to engage the device, but they have to get close anyway for a PIT so this con doesn’t even count in my book. Plus overall the device saves lives. And that’s priority number one here. I’m about 15-20 years anyway all vehicles will be so computerized that cops will be able to seize control over the vehicle mid-chase and slow it down to a dead stop. Criminals will be driving 20 year old cars to avoid the police interception capabilities and all the built in Siri/Alexa microphones in them they can remotely tap and listen into.
Easy solutions are best solutions. This is as low-tech as it comes. Love it.

Exactly, which is why police need even more funding so inventions like these can save lives
@@cole2526 Except more police funding isn't going to fund inventions like these; more police funding in a police department that is already corrupted will only make them more richer and be more corrupt. Bwoy you crazy. lmao.
No it won't. Idiots are still going to try and out run the police it's just now there is a better technique in ending it.
na, LA police would rather follow you going 10mph for 8 hours
@@klayman2 thats how it should be. Speed against speed, driver against driver, who blink loses. lol
I am going to miss the live chases but this is progress that needs to happen, I’m all for this
This guys saving lives and going to make a killing in the process
i see what you did there
No pun intended?
No
Yeah now even if your innocent they got you. walk up and pop pop. Or if your woman alone at night and some shady cop no chance to get away.
@@whatfreedom7 what? You really think a cop is going to use this to kidnap people?
This is amazing! Congratulations on an awesome invention💐
Excellent! American ingenuity at its best - kudos to the inventor!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how strong those Kevlar fibres are
Spiderman rides again!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess they have to saw the car's rear axle up to recover the nylon web.
They're nylon
@@eyescreamcake he didn't even pay attention..
Can we apprentice people that watch the video an don't just make assumptions.
as a cop, i bet there's no better feeling than using the ol' grappler to stop the bad guys
Right! 😹
@Boss Ricketts Who said anything about cannabis?
@Boss Ricketts harmlessly smoking cannabis while driving?
@Boss Ricketts For starters, they'd need to pull you over to know (see or smell) they were smoking. This gadget is intended to stop people who WON'T PULL OVER, resulting in high speed chase. Whoever would get in a high speed chase over a dime bag, is MOST LIKELY up to something much bigger (and behaving insanely). Corrupt, would be taking 100$ to pretend they didn't (see, smell or find) a sack of weed.
@Boss Ricketts you do know the state makes the laws and the cops just enforce right?
I’ve shown this to all my officer and CHP friends and all their responses are “man that’s so cool I want one”
a mechanical engineer getting recognized, finally, usually engineers work in the shadows
It's one of those simple ideas that makes you think "why did no one think about this before?"

@@karelbellic8480 Thx. I was gonna write "had thought" but I forgot to change "thought".
@@Blade-qe3uy Idk why I made so many mistakes. I had to be really tired.

@@berni2905 rest assured they will police your grammar here. lil nazis do that.
I think the answer is cops and cop apologists never deescalate and always escalate... unless its a white kid who shot up a church... he gets burgerking.
Batman: LUCIUS!!!
Lucius: Don't look at me, they asked for it.
Does it come in black?
Lo lwas thinking same thing :D Batman now not happy
Americans always inventing the most useful stuff, you guys are amazing.
Who said nothing good ever came out of Peoria? Three cheers for the inventor. He saw a need and developed the technology to take care of it.
This guy deserves to get rich.
until they try and stop a heavier 4x4 vehicle and it doesn't stop and an officer gets killed ... then, not so much lol
I think the grappler comes off the Police car
@@shitheadyou're so negative and full of envy bro, you always find fault and negativity in everything. It's 2024, change your mindset
Who in the WORLD is giving this great device a thumbs down ? You must be criminals who don’t want to get caught. Kudos to the inventors and the users ! GREAT idea !
"I would've gotten away with it too! If it weren't for those meddling grapplers!"
Maybe they just miss the pit maneuver. There is less rolling and bodies flying with this device

Brilliant, yet so simple. Kudos to the inventor.
As a former policeman (retired due to injury) I can attest just how dangerous any vehicle pursuit is. And someone innocent many times get hurt not to mention millions in property damage. Safe, effective, simple what a brilliant idea.
