- Perpetua (Ms. Susan Roces), a young novice, was named after Our Lady of
Perpetual Help. She was brought up by her religious mother, and was made to believe that a life in the convent was best for her. However, after merely two years as a postulant, she suddenly falls in love with Agustin (Mr. Lito Legaspi). Perpetua chooses to leave the convent and marry Agustin. She seemed to have made the right choice as heaven still seems to be showering her family with unending blessings. On Perpetua and Agustin’s 50th wedding anniversary, she discovers that Agustin actually has another wife - Adelaida (Ms. Boots AnsonRoa), whom he has married long before he got married to Perpetua. This event causes her family to fall apart. And now she starts to question: Did heaven really shower her blessings, or was heaven just waiting for the right time to punish her for choosing love over spiritual vocation?

First time to watch this, and realized I missed quite a lot of lenten specials since all I wanted to do during those times in the past was to catch much rest and sleep after working for months, I think Cuaresma and Christmas Season is the ultimate vacation time for Catholics /Christians. 😊
Anyway, superb acting from everyone - from the veteran actors to the young ones and even the assorted talents - who acted in each scene.
Beautiful lessons can be taken away from this drama, regarding faith, humility, forgiveness, acceptance, and love, especially the unconditional and endless Love and Forgiveness from Our Almighty thru the intercession of our Blessed Mother, that are constantly shown us.
Another thing I observed was how comfortable the late great Ms. Susan Roces was acting in projects wherein the plot line just skirts outside her reality in life, especially this one - characters who depict adopted children, a woman not being able to naturally conceive, a "philandering" husband the other woman, etc. - similar to reality BUT NOT EXACTLY the same. I wonder what particularly was going thru her mind then while reading such scripts and eventually agreeing to work on such projects. One more plot line shown, this time in a film, that may have a few close similarities to her reality was "Lahat ng Ito Pati na ang Langit" (with Dina Bonnevie & Vina Morales). I wonder how much of the dialogue she threw at, the other great actor, lMr. Dante Rivero, was said in real life in a very poignant scene. She and her late husband, the equally loved and respected FPJ, seemed to be very private people but was quite alright doing projects with plot lines like a wife with a playboy husband (which SR has fully accepted about FPJ) in their "Mahal - Kumander/Manedyer" movies.
Ms. Roces was some kind of a lady, she looked delicate on the outside yet obviously was quite strong on the inside what with all the drama that went on in the past. As the saying goes - "They sure don't make women like her anymore!" 😊🎉👏

IMMENSELY INCREDIBLE BREATH-TAKING DRAMA that at the beginning made me so "confused"! But when ADELAIDA (Boots Anson-Roa)
revealed that she was NOT CAPABLE OF HAVING BABIES", hence she agreed for AGUSTIN (Lito Legaspi) to find another woman that her FATHER
wants to have a GRANDCHILD to be the HEIR of the family. Meanwhile they ADOPTED a boy GUS (Robert Sena) whose son: PACO (Lucho Ayala)
became the BF of MARGARITA (Joyce Ching). Everything got "straightened" out, however, it made me emotional with some few tears. I love the
