I grew up listening to Osmond records, specifically Donny & Marie, & I feel I became a singer because of them. I get to meet Donny for the first time next month, 4 days after my 51st birthday. I've been waiting for what seems like forever to be able to tell this man thank you for what he & his family have meant to my life. I appreciate what you have done here in bringing us these special memories. Please keep up the good work!

@@lindastewart4565 I wish I was. I just watched a documentary about the Osmond family and they all mentioned their father's abuse. They compared their lives to being in the military. Their dad woke them up with the sound of a bugle, they slept on actual military bunk beds and had military lockers for their stuff, there were military type inspections, etc. He was physically and psychologically abusive. They would get paddled really hard if they made a mistake. There was an ENORMOUS amount of pressure for them to be perfect. None of them wanted to make a mistake in the shows for fear of letting down the whole group. They were scared to death. They said they weren't allowed to share their feelings or fears; they were to "be quiet and smile". So, when the cameras started rolling, they flashed those infamous smiles as if they were happy. They weren't happy. They never saw a dime of their money. They were taken care of, but they weren't allowed to handle their own money, which they later lost due to bad investments. Their father was extremely similar to the Jackson's father. 💔😥💔
I was a guest on the show which reunited me with some family just a few days before this episode! It was a great experience. I still have the recording.
I love Donny he is so emotional because he does not know when they would be able to all be together like that again, Now it 2021 and their parents are gone I am so glad they had that moment and that beautiful portrait.
I have this on VHS somewhere & remember it fondly. The last time the 9 were with Mother & Father Osmond on TV. & you could tell Donny knew they were coming out, but that Marie didn't. You could see him mouth "I'm sorry" to her. I'll never ever forget this!

I have always loved the Osmond's growing up. Donny was fantastic in Joseph and the technicolour Dreamcast. This is my favourite musical. I thought there was just 4 brothers and Marie. I can't believe there is 8 boys. Totally amazing family.

The Osmond family will forever hold a big place in my heart. I got to see them at the Salt Lake City Tabernacle in 1978. I also met Jay and Jimmy at an event at the mall in Salt Lake City the same year. Just recently Alan posted a link on his Twitter account asking if people were related and I followed the link. It turns out he and his siblings are my 14th cousins first removed. This was exciting to know. Thank you for all the great memories from these videos and music. They are a blessing.
I found it very nastalgic to have all 9 siblings and to see their Mum and Dad their Mum has a marvellous memory of her 9 Children from Suzanne of Deansgrange Dublin Ireland

Oh man, I’m sitting in my garden watching this with a beer and suddenly my eyes are filling up when Donny gets emotional about his parents. For all you lucky people who still have them, cherish them and cherish every moment you can get with them, make sure they know how much you love them. Later in life you will look back without regrets and feel the warmth inside of all the memories, and know that you returned the love they gave you when they brought you into this world. ❤️
