💰 "Cracking the Code on DTF Printing Costs with Mimaki! 🖨️ Discover the ins and outs of calculating the cost of DTF transfers, including the nuances of ink, film, and powder expenses on Mimaki DTF printers."
🔍 "Join us in this detailed breakdown of the costs associated with Direct to Film (DTF) printing, particularly focusing on the Mimaki DTF printer. Understanding the cost of DTF printing can be complex, with variables like shirt color, graphic size, color density, and transparency all playing a role. In this video, we take a deep dive into these factors, providing a general rule of thumb for calculating material costs, including film, ink, and powder. We also explore how color knockouts and the use of Digital Factory 11's variable white underbase can lead to significant savings in ink and powder usage.
We put theory into practice by printing a 10x10 inch leopard graphic on the Mimaki TXF 30075 DTF printer, using Digital Factory 11 with a dark garment print mode that utilizes a variable white underbase. Our cost analysis covers everything from the retail price of materials to the percentage loss in film, ink, and powder. We give you a practical example by comparing the weight of the printed graphic against a blank film, leading to a detailed cost breakdown for this specific graphic. 📊
The results are eye-opening. By using standard white underbase settings, we observe a 41% increase in ink usage and a 15% increase in powder, which translates to a higher total cost. In contrast, opting for a color knockout approach can reduce ink usage by 48% and powder by 42%, showcasing significant cost savings. This video is essential for anyone using Mimaki DTF printers, as it provides valuable insights into cost-effective printing strategies. I'm not gonna lie, that was hands down the most accurate and entertaining intro I have ever seen! The content was okay too...................................................J/K! I strongly believe the numbers stated as being true. They sound reasonably consistent with what I have been hearing about other printers. The part I like most about this videos is the cost saving tip from applying a color knock out. Its a win for the print shop (less costly) and a win for the customers (more breathable print). Thank you for very informative videos like this. Would you be willing to make a video that demonstrates the total cost of ownership for a Mimaki vs compartable printer vs comparable printer (insert 2 comparable printers here)? Example of content would be cost of maintenance, parts, technician labor, etc. Just a general expectation of the life of parts like print heads. I realize the Mimaki DTF printer has only been out for like 6 months, but others have been around the block a few years and can be a reasonable example. Anyhow, looking forward to your next videos.

I have many problems with my TxF150 specifically when the white has sharp corners and takes a lot of space (a very bold text logo for example). Extremely difficult to remove the film once applied and the letter corners almost always lift up so you have to push them down with your finger otherwise it's set for life. Great video, thanks for sharing !

I think the video was very clear. I would love a basic like in most cases how much per square foot price I know its a estimate but would love that. Thanks!

We did address a per square inch price of $0.007, which I think is more helpful, but a per square foot price would be $1.008. That's figuring 64% coverage and variable white underbase for a darker garment.

Hello! Tnx for amazing videos. Have you tested Onyx with the txf150-75? That printer is on Onyx compadable list now.

we have not. We don't carry the Onyx Rip software and after doing some research we don't see any variable white underbase options and that is a really big selling point for CADLink as it makes the transfer feel substantially better. We are, however, always willing to try new things!

I hope you try it. It is a awesome program for making volym print logo with finishing in summa f cutters..and onyx is easy for color match with spectrometer. I would love if you could test it, a think you could get bigger customers that are in for big production. Can you color match with spectrometer in cadlink?

@@DTFSuperstore Hey @DTFSuperstore we use the Onyx RIP software and recently purchased the Mimaki TXF150-75 from you guys. Happy to discuss a collaboration if you guys want to test out this scenario at our facility. Onyx is great at streamlining multiple touchpoints.
