But Curtis, we struggled against West Ham and Southampton last season. We have been saying for 2 years Saka needs cover when he's not on his game. We need a striker, a Partey type player with pace, cover at right centre back.
Tbh, Arteta is Arsenal's biggest liability. Tierney, Martinez & possibly Guenduzi were crippling decisions. Dude doesn't even trust his own bench. Zinc and Kai in midfield cost us the title.
I'm not an Artetasexuals or anything like that, I'm genuinely just curious as to what available and realistic manager we could get to get us past Pep. Ill leave you with this, Pep's managerial record for league titles right now is 11/14. He was only stopped by José Mourinho (2011-12), Antonio Conte (2016-17) and Jürgen Klopp (2019-20). He isn't invincible, but i think we could appreciate the kind of job Arteta is doing a bit more. I will say that our performances in cup competitions are unacceptable and I think we should definitely be doing better. Again this is not me trying to excuse Artetas shortcomings or anything like that, so I would like to here your answers as to what manager available we can be confident in to carry us over the line.
we're ARSENAL -- attracting ANY experienced manager is plausible. You can't keep parading how we're such a big club x, y, z and then ponder the possibility of not being able to attract top managers -- because the current one aint it, not even close to it. Arteta doesn't deserve any praise or admiration. ANY manager given the time, money, patience, unquestioned authority and support this chump manager has gotten would have gotten us to where we are today AND over the line lifting silverware.
Just because someone cannot name a manager off the top of their head does not mean that you cannot search. It's like any other job. You put out a wanted sign and you review the candidates. I'm not saying that Arteta needs to go but i'd be interested to hear from you what you think his shortcomings are and whether he can acknowledge them? I think Curtis is highlighted a lot of his shortcomings that I tend to agree with. I would also include Edu in the discussion because of some of the signings.
Idk why this channel/community doesn’t realize that Arteta is going blow for blow with the greatest manager of all time. In 2024 Arteta is invincible bar the Villa game at home. And yet we still might lose out. He’s found a style that allows Arsenal to be impenetrable defensively while scoring loads. People want Unai back, but don’t understand that Unai would get destroyed by pep even with our current squad.
Everyone that's Arteta out fails to mention which managers we could realistically get to beat Pep. They just want Arteta out and nothing else. If we do let Arteta go, hell probably end up in Barcelona. I'm still Arteta in because I can see what he's building towards and it's undeniable that he's got what it takes to become the world class manager every club desperately needs.
Big C, have you heard of Tim Henman and Jimmy White syndrome? Basically, finishing 2nd too often does psychological damage: You believe you’ll never do it. I fear for Arsenal in that way. Next season might be too much for them no matter who we sign. Do not underestimate the psychological impact of this and last season. I ALWAYS WARNED EVERYONE AT TIME: You mess up in 2022-23 when you were 8 points ahead, you might NEVER EVER recover. Best chance and we screwed up.

Curtis once again I agree with you 100%……I am still convinced that while Arteta has taken us so far, his arrogance and inability to vary his tactics has cost us the league title this year (and possibly last season too)! His decisions in games v Fulham, West ham, Villa and Newcastle has cost us so many points it’s unacceptable! Plus a lot of his team selections have been very questionable! Unfortunately I don’t have confidence that he has it in him to take us to the league or UCL, in fact I have the strong suspicion that we will see a drop off next season, I hope I’m wrong, we shall see!
The stupidest thing Arsenal did this season was to consider selling Gabriel to Saudi. It meant he was on the bench at the start of the season and so White went CB and Partey went right back. The latter was a disaster. I think we have finished the season with a settled first team that is very good. So the squad now needs tweaking not major surgery. In these circumstances it would be madness to change the manager.
Well that’s weird, klopp was already an established manager who dethroned Bayern two years in a row and won 2 league titles and reached the ucl finals with dortmund and even when he came to Liverpool and it took him years to win the league he was still getting to champions league finals winning them all while spending less than arteta poor comparison but you tried
Look I want Arteta to stay another season but before the common theme to back him was "it took Klopp 4 yrs", now all sudden I'm seeing "oh klopp only won 1 title in 8 yrs" we as a fanbase need to stop putting down established managers to make Arteta look better, it's so shameless. If City beat West ham on Sunday Klopp will have had a better season than Arteta...again. Facts are facts unfortunately, in elite sport trophies matter. I'd have felt a lot better about yesterday if we were in the FA cup (which ironically klopps Liverpool knocked us out of lol) final instead of United that's for sure haha. We gotta win something next year
@@mo2k638 You actually solidified his point….if Klopp with all his accolades and vast experience could only manage to secure 1 prem then you shouldn’t expect a relative novice to easily surpass that. In a championship fight, the challenger doesn't give up in the 12th round because he's down on points...He goes out swinging!.. I think this is the kind of conversation you have once the title is confirmed Big C.. We've come this far, so why just give up when we both have one more game to go. I want those players to fight to the end. I think the fans should do it to.
The striker point is so valid. Dont get a sesko get isaak. We need a 20 plus goal striker. Havertz has been great in the run in. But over a full season hes not the answer

A lot of all this talk about changing the manager. 2 questions: 1. Sack Arteta for who? Who can we realistically hire now that WILL surely win us the PL trophy? 2. How many years of experience as a front line manager does Arteta have? Yet he has gone head to head with the world best coach twice already in those few years. Maybe if you all test and subject yourselves to same standards, yall will be Billionaires Take a lot of seats while you think about it.
He joined the club that was utter shit in 22 December 2019. In Five years we have competed for the Title twice. Matches -171; Wins -102 ; Draws -27; Losses - 42; Goals For - 325; Goals Against - 179 Remember what he had to work with when he came and the process to get us to where we are now. Life is a process people, you don't just become the best overnight. The club is moving forward and in the right direction COYG.
It’s a valuable lesson that we need to be consistent from day one, not just January 1st. Next season feels pivotal. We need to win something otherwise we could start going backwards. And we’ve been here before. We all thought the post Invincibles team would be successful but they didn’t win early on together and that snowballed to 9 years without a trophy. Eventually our best players left. We have to avoid that happening again. Summer business is vital.
Arteta pulled it out the bag at the death more than once for David Moyes. Can old Moyesie give one last charge, for his mate, before he signs off?🙏🙏 What a story that would be 🙏
West ham are about to get rolled over 5-0. Anyone talking any other result like an experienced title-winning behemoth are going to drop points ON THE LAST DAY of the season are living in delusion.
I’ve heard all this “give him another year” with Wenger ….. that ended up 14 years of league and UCL failure and many pointless signings and many sell offs of the best players, so no give Arteta more time rubbish!
Different circumstances I would say we was struggling for years towards end of wenger and the players didn’t care about the club back room staff was awful and the boss paid price eventually, Arteta has made us better every year we gotta win a trophy by next season but let’s be honest every player loves the club we feel connected again and we can all smell a trophy round the corner
@@abhijeetchandra4657 I wouldn’t say so we was awful in last years of Wenger and had no spine no fight we had 2-3 class players and rest was shocking Arteta has built our team into a solid unit that will only get better the only criticism of Arteta is during this period he turned his nose up at domestic cups
Great show my G. I agree that we probably should have gotten a better player than Havertz however, if we are talking about getting a 20 goal per season player then we can't really judge Havertz because Arteta had him playing in midfield and when playing upfront he's done well so who knows what a full season upfront would have looked like. I also think it's good to have some fans questioning Arteta because he should not feel overly comfortable in his job to keep him on his toes. With that being said, it's a bit harsh to can him. I mean we complained about not competing for years and now we have for the last two years yet there is a sense sometimes that Arteta isn't good enough. I know as fans we tend to not care about the business side but most smart business ppl would stick with Arteta after this season. I would say Arteta should get 7 years at which point there should be no excuse. Arteta has made some really rookie mistakes and the problem is that we as fans see the issues and yet he keeps doing the same madness over and over which then causes us to lose points! The Villa game was a joke, when we lost to them earlier in the season at home, where did Villa get the goal from? Their right side, where did they get their goal from in the backend of this season? Same place and the reality is that Arteta played Zinny when everyone was saying don't do it. Those decisions are indefensible and so I do get some of the frustrations but he's improved year over year so I think he deserves at least next year.
The explanation is for more time is that Arteta is improving the team year in year out. Gap to Pep is getting smaller. If you want to overtake someone you close the gap first then you overtake. Simple
Bro we all arm chair quarterback but why do people talk about things we don't know behind the scences obviously Arteta played who was fit just because you see players on the bench dont mean they are fit.
It's crazy to think, we will only be 2 points behind City, when... 1. Martinelli, Saka and Jesus have not been firing at all. Arguably everyones 1st 3 starters if asked at the beginning of the season!! 2. It's only Kai and Trossard that have carried us to where we are from an attacking perspective. Without these 2, there is no title challenge! 3. Defence did there jobs throughout the season 4. It's the misfiring attack where we were wasteful and not productive. Eg Villa away, the amount of chances we had, should have beat them. 5. Agree Havertz in midfield did not work, destabilised the whole team. We need an out and out striker. A midfield maestro, and backup for the 2 giants who have been imperious at the back. Odegaard is too important for us, our most important player, he needs a backup.
100% Arteta has cost us points this season, but he’s done a lot more good for us than bad, especially when we haven’t really got any world class players. Even Pep makes wild decisions, you have to take the good with the bad. Time gets him better players, we’ve only had one season with champions league money. You could say Jorginho cost us the league when he gives Tottenham a goal. I was screaming Arteta out at Kevin Cambell, but he was 100% right. What Artetas done with this team is a miracle. If you went back and said he’d be challenging Pep in a few years, everyone would have said you’re crazy. If you want him out, I think you’ve gotta have a realistic replacement. I don’t see anyone that guarantees a prem over pep.
Big up Curtis, IF we don't win the title this season then the reason is mainly Arteta, he plays like the clone of PEP he is, Yes we have improved BUTyou HAVE to be yourself, Kopp did it & won, without our defence we might not have top 4, they have been rock solid, M/F & Attack have built on thar
If we're going with the argument that Klopp has won with Pep around, there are two asterisks that go along with it. Anything can happen in cup competitions due to the knockout format. I'll give him some credit, but Klopp is just one of several managers to roll well here and there. And as for the one league title Klopp managed during this time, it was the Covid season, where games were played in empty stadiums, players and staff were taking heaps of time off to self-isolate, and games were postponed because neither side could field a reasonable team. That's after shutting down the league and then cramming the remaining games into a short space of time. This is the only season in the past 7 years that City weren't champions, and without these disruptions I believe they would've likely come on top there as well.
I feel there needs to be context. We were dog when Arteta came in, we’ve put in two title challenges in a row against potentially the best team these shores have ever seen. There’s not a single team that can say that. He’s closer to pep than last season, no other team or manager is close. I don’t get this, who you replacing Arteta with???
@@sebastianbarroso9253 man, what he’s done last 2 seasons isn’t failure. If he wins Saturday he’ll be 1 point behind our invincible season - which I was also at 😂😂 yes I’m old. He needs to be given next season to win a trophy and 2 to get the prem. pep is out of sight of every other manager. Arteta put everything into a title charge this year, and didn’t have the players for the cups aswell. Next season is the real test when he adds players. Coming second to pep in the prem ain’t failure, but you need trophies
We had finished 5th when Arteta came in, and he proceeded to finish 8th 2 seasons in a row. The manager we fired for finishing 5th just toke villa from relegation to a champions league spot.....Arteta is good but Unai with the same backing from the ownership and the fans he would have arguably put us in the same spot and even better.
Curtis Shaw has always been Arteta Out. He wanted Henry in but it didn't happen. Whereas I agree that arteta messed it up in that Villa's game, I give him props for competing with city. If VAR was not there city aren't winning the league. There is enough evidence of referees favouring City by handing them leads and favourable decisions that ruined games. Michael Oliver alone has handed city the title.
You can go like that with every team. You can look at City and be: they should have won that game, this game, game against us and so on. It doesn't make sense. The most important part is to learn. Last year we had sensational start, this year we had spectacular finish. Now with this experience and some additions Arteta has to manage us through whole season so we don't have a dip longer than 2-3 games in a row which we did in December. I'm certain we will get there. Pep has a team working in that system between 6-8 years (core that is). We have 2-3 years and still building tactic familiarity and team cohesion. Let's go once again 💪
That villa game cost us. Whyyy did arteta change a winning team havertz was doing great upfront n he plays in midfield that game. N zinchenko comes in against leon bailey. Bad decision making from arteta
The Villa game doesn’t really bother me that much tbh one loss in 2024 happens but it’s those westham Fulham back to back L’s and that Fulham tie that they were down to 10 men that kills me. Those games are the reason we had no margin for error
Let's also not forget all the other big clubs Arteta 'pipped' to land Cedric, Trusty, Kiwior, Ramsdale, Mari, Marquinos, Tavares, Lokonga, Jesus, Zinchenko, Willian and Vieria and successfully convinced Elneny, Holding, RN and Nketiah to all sign new contracts...
I mean, even if City had drawn last night, it wasn't 100% in the bag for us. Despite all the goals we have scored, we would've only been sitting on a +3 goal difference heading into the Everton game (had they drawn). We would need to score probably 3 against Everton, minimally, as City are more than capable of scoring 5 or more against West Ham. We can look back on the Villa game, but Villa have been solid this year. The late draw against 10 man Fulham, and the losses to Fulham and West Ham during December are where the league was lost. That's 8 more points we could've had, and the league would've been done already.
105 charges against city no points deduction, we coud not get any one in January over fair play rules, the same rules do not apply to city , Arsenal did great against the only team the rules do not apply to. Does man city own the premier league, the league is corrupt ,
there is a thing that ppl say that angers me all the time, here goes, oh its early days we have alot of game left, i really hate that, evey game gives 3 points at end of season every points add up, there is no such thing as early days, wr suffering from that syndrome now, and yes that arteta tinkering killed us vs villa,
The All Blacks are expected to win all the time. If we lose we are looking for reasons and don't look at the other team and who their coaches or team are. We expect our team to level up and improve. It's was a mindset that was severely crippled by the last coach.
Arteta did realise Havertz wasn't working in. Midfield so he did bench him but Jesus got injured and Nketiah didn't step up so he played Havertz at striker.
Joba, that's a folly logic. "More time will bring him past Pep". You are saying the team will remain the same and the standard will remain the same. Impossible. Additionally, other teams are becoming more competitive. The race in NOT between Pep and Arteta. Think logically.
5 years and no major trophies won is a crap looking CV. His reputation will only get worse the longer he doesn't win anything. Top 4 isn't a trophy. Being a nearly man isn't a trophy either.

I want my midfielders to be midfielders. My attackers to be attacker's and my defenders to be defenders. We have enough players who "can do a job". I dont want any players in this squad that arteta doesnt trust. If you wont play ESR, reece nelson, ramsdale, or pablo viera then they have got to go. The fruits of the process must be seen
But Curtis, we struggled against West Ham and Southampton last season. We have been saying for 2 years Saka needs cover when he's not on his game. We need a striker, a Partey type player with pace, cover at right centre back.
Trouble with this fanbase they are too.emotional.
Tbh, Arteta is Arsenal's biggest liability. Tierney, Martinez & possibly Guenduzi were crippling decisions. Dude doesn't even trust his own bench. Zinc and Kai in midfield cost us the title.
You spitting facts, nobody notices now but Arteta created the Goalkeeping problem we have now and we won't win the title with David Raya.
There's no way David Raya is making a save 1 on 1 with Son. Guaranteed
Finally some sanity in this comment section.
For the first time I saw pep stressed we coming don’t worry Big C

Curtis once again I agree with you 100%……I am still convinced that while Arteta has taken us so far, his arrogance and inability to vary his tactics has cost us the league title this year (and possibly last season too)! His decisions in games v Fulham, West ham, Villa and Newcastle has cost us so many points it’s unacceptable! Plus a lot of his team selections have been very questionable! Unfortunately I don’t have confidence that he has it in him to take us to the league or UCL, in fact I have the strong suspicion that we will see a drop off next season, I hope I’m wrong, we shall see!
Why can’t Arsenal just focus on themselves instead of blaming every other team 🤷🏽♂️
You’re right .. we could have got a few more points this season but we didn’t… no one to blame but ourselves
It's not about winning things to LOVE your club. Remember that
Thank youb🎉🎉🎉🎉
The stupidest thing Arsenal did this season was to consider selling Gabriel to Saudi. It meant he was on the bench at the start of the season and so White went CB and Partey went right back. The latter was a disaster. I think we have finished the season with a settled first team that is very good. So the squad now needs tweaking not major surgery. In these circumstances it would be madness to change the manager.
I don't think strengthening Man Citys squad and weakening his own by signing Jesus & Zinchenko for 80m helped much either
Kloop won just one league title in 8 year with Liverpool. That's because he kept trying. Let's give Arteta more time to do his thing.
We gotta win something next year
And a Champions league, and a Carabao cup and an FA Cup and a club world cup which is about 4 more trophies than that coneman Arteta won
How much more
@@mo2k638 You actually solidified his point….if Klopp with all his accolades and vast experience could only manage to secure 1 prem then you shouldn’t expect a relative novice to easily surpass that. You’ve also got to remember Edu is new to the game too, Liverpool had Edward’s who is one of the best in his role.
Curtis please try and be consistent with the sound. Sometimes it goes from really level to really high! Making the noise disturb neighbours
PS fellow Gooners. I have a pair of tickets for Sunday. One adult one Junior Gunner. If I decide I dont want to go Sunday then is it possible to transfer tickets to fellow members still or only Season ticket holders? In a championship fight, the challenger doesn't give up in the 12th round because he's down on points...He goes out swinging!..
I think this is the kind of conversation you have once the title is confirmed Big C.. We've come this far, so why just give up when we both have one more game to go. I want those players to fight to the end. I think the fans should do it to.
The striker point is so valid. Dont get a sesko get isaak. We need a 20 plus goal striker. Havertz has been great in the run in. But over a full season hes not the answer
Curtis, you're correct , they said Fergie, Wenger plus many more who have won Big were not great coaches BUT GREAT MANAGERS
Unbelievable how people are still sleeping on Trossard
In my eyes arteta has got one more year, buy a top striker, buy a top dm to go nxt to dekkers and get a few good young squad players to replace the likes of nketiah, lakonga,Nelson, esr, fabio, ramsdale etc coyg next year is our year 💪
3:40 funnily enough Son actually did score that exact chance at the Emirates to make it 2-2...yh he did that on purpose fr🤣..weirdly tho i grudgingly respect it tbh, when spurs were in that CL final we were all the biggest Liverpool fans lol. We should've beaten Fulham and Villa at home...
A lot of all this talk about changing the manager. 2 questions:
1. Sack Arteta for who? Who can we realistically hire now that WILL surely win us the PL trophy?
2. How many years of experience as a front line manager does Arteta have?
Yet he has gone head to head with the world best coach twice already in those few years.
Maybe if you all test and subject yourselves to same standards, yall will be Billionaires
Take a lot of seats while you think about it.
He joined the club that was utter shit in 22 December 2019. In Five years we have competed for the Title twice.
Matches -171; Wins -102 ; Draws -27; Losses - 42; Goals For - 325; Goals Against - 179
Remember what he had to work with when he came and the process to get us to where we are now.
Life is a process people, you don't just become the best overnight.
The club is moving forward and in the right direction
COYG.
We have the most wins in arsenal history mancity just too good
You’ll call me crazy but there’s that 1% that hopes West Ham can do the unthinkable. I don’t think I’d be able to get to work Monday.
Dont forget Arsenal are sending an 8 hour long invisible throwback right now at their youtube channel!
Arteta pulled it out the bag at the death more than once for David Moyes. Can old Moyesie give one last charge, for his mate, before he signs off?🙏🙏 What a story that would be 🙏
Imagine they did. 😊
My missus is west ham I told her if they beat city I'd marry her 😂😂
West ham beat us at home anything can happen. Could use those 3 points rn
West ham are about to get rolled over 5-0. Anyone talking any other result like an experienced title-winning behemoth are going to drop points ON THE LAST DAY of the season are living in delusion.
Arteta was a bang average player and an average manager. Don't expect him or Moyes to do anything.
everton and forest opened their books to the pl. city have been obstructing the investigation. that's the difference
@@derdiyok96same circumstances no trophies in 4 years 🚮
@@abhijeetchandra4657 I wouldn’t say so we was awful in last years of Wenger and had no spine no fight we had 2-3 class players and rest was shocking Arteta has built our team into a solid unit that will only get better the only criticism of Arteta is during this period he turned his nose up at domestic cups
Those decisions are indefensible and so I do get some of the frustrations but he's improved year over year so I think he deserves at least next year.
we need good plan a tactics and plan b
18:20 Curtis you HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD
Arteta is a good couch not a good manager unfortunately.
I love Curtis Shaw TV for being like no one else. I want you to be the Arsenal's manager next season @Curtis Shaw TV🤣🤣🤣
Judge has the power to ban city Lawers lock them out
That’s a shocking take. More time will not take him past Pep. Nothing will take him past Pep and neither will it take anyone else.
3. Defence did there jobs throughout the season
Exactly my same feelings
Agreed but there’s a point when we need to try to get it over the line if he keeps failing
Arteta failed there's no other context needed.
Big c havertz has done well, but bottom line, he was brought in as a midfielder. Arteta even said this himself, so it was a fail then.
Arteta is a Average player same now as an Average Manager…. Is not good enough, not Hungry Enough as Pep or other ambitious managers
Sky sports never showed the line bro. Rigged trust
They'll be renaming the dog "second"!
we should be doing the double but same old arsenal
Not Isak the other Player from Sporting Curtis m8 Gykomarez bud 4 me 100%
10:50 KDB was offside 😢
Curtis curtis curtis!!!
Fine margins, only beat to 1st place by 115 charges infinite lawyer's n £ Man Cheataty but sack the manager? Joker...
Hopefully this is the last therapy of the season dr Curtis. Maybe the gods will hear our prayer😂
The Villa game doesn’t really bother me that much tbh one loss in 2024 happens but it’s those westham Fulham back to back L’s and that Fulham tie that they were down to 10 men that kills me. Those games are the reason we had no margin for error
What ever makes you sleep 😂
If Arteta had got the selection right against Fulham and Villa at home we wud be winning the league
No better second keeper than caoimhin kelleher
More time gets Arteta the opportunity to further build the young squad mentality. Also pipped City to Declan as one of the transfers of the season....
Isak, a backup right winger who Arteta trust, a DM so Rice can play as the 8, a keeper assuming Ramsdale leaves
Does man city own the premier league, the league is corrupt ,
there is a thing that ppl say that angers me all the time, here goes, oh its early days we have alot of game left, i really hate that, evey game gives 3 points at end of season every points add up, there is no such thing as early days, wr suffering from that syndrome now, and yes that arteta tinkering killed us vs villa,
Hey m8 how you I hope u ok I was wondering if you available for collab as end season coming to end as I’ve emailed u
He realised too late when we were screaming it from the rooftops
Joba, that's a folly logic. "More time will bring him past Pep". You are saying the team will remain the same and the standard will remain the same. Impossible. Additionally, other teams are becoming more competitive. The race in NOT between Pep and Arteta. Think logically.
Its evident that the more time
Arteta gets the more closer he is getting.
5 years and no major trophies won is a crap looking CV. His reputation will only get worse the longer he doesn't win anything. Top 4 isn't a trophy. Being a nearly man isn't a trophy either.

Havertz will be starting up front next season
Don’t need to spend 100 million on a striker! Could buy sesko & olise for 100 mil & sell nketiah & Nelson leaving us with a line up of attacking talent to rotate of
Havertz
Trossard
Saka
Martinelli
Olise
Sesko
Jesus
Get Guimarães
Keep Partey//Jorginho as back up
Get timber back & replace ramsdale sorts out defence & gk
Make decisions about vieira & smith Rowe either sell or trust them to come on or be rotated in for certain games
That team was good enough to beat villa. Trossard scores that sitter and we probably go on to win that game.

And if son had scored that there’s no way u would be having a conversation about arteta even though he has nothing to do with it
We're more 4-6 players away, but yes we're nowhere close to winning the title. If players like Georgina and the King of Zamunda are getting gametime, then it's an obvious yes. Stop making excuses for a "big club" owned by a billionaire, you halfwit.
The fact that we are relying on Spurs proves that our squad isn't there yet. We need a few more players to solidify the squad and no longer rely on favors from other teams
The whole we had to rely on other teams so we are bad argument is flawed. City had to rely on Westham and Villa and Fulham to do their business but nobody talks about that.
But to be honest I feel even if Son had scored City would have found a way through.
