I think that the caravan is so heavy and big that it’s straining the car and that’s why both cars broke down
They’ve not been going out with the caravan though! It went on a day out! They didn’t have the van on it😂🤣

Omg we'd never broken down until the day we were heading from Oxfordshire to Birmingham Airport for our honeymoon and the car went bang and stopped right outside an raf base, soldier came out with gun and everything hehe they were lovely in the end when realised we posed no threat haha. Thing was we'd only had car back day before from mot and service, turns out they hadn't put a spark plug or something back on properly 😑 😐 🤔 🙄 wasn't impressed. Thankfully we were picked up and taken to airport and relative stayed with the car haha.

It sounds like they connected the alternator backwards that would kill your battery it's happened before I one of my trucks. If that's the case make sure that you have them give you a free battery not the old one but a brand new one

My family have had many land rovers and they have always had lots of problems with them! Then we changed to Toyotas and we would never look back as they are such amazing and reliable cars! Xx

Our caravan is a similar weight to yours and we couldn't get certain cars since they couldn't handle the weight of our caravan, plus we needed alot of seats so we ended up getting a Nissan pathfinder

My car broke down in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. It was just me (back when I was just a young woman of 22) with my massive German Shepherd dog (Just kidding...he was only 10 weeks old 😬) there was no cell service and I hadn't seen a car for many miles. Thankfully, a man from Fairbanks stopped. He had a look at my car and determined I needed a tow truck. When he got to the closest phone he called a tow truck for me. I waited six hours and finally we were rescued. I had a huge tow charge but the garage only charged me $6.00. For the repair. Apparently a stone or rock punctured where the oil goes...they just welded it or something and gratefully, took pity on my sweet puppy and me. I know the feeling of being stranded. I'm so happy you're all together and safe. That's the most important thing.

Carol Hall Hi. I wasn't afraid until I broke down. I had travelled across the Western USA, western Canada, up through the Yukon and onward to Alaska. It was the trip of a lifetime. We slept in my tent at night in protected campsites with loads of summer travelers.
When I broke down, I was afraid of bears, wolves, Cougars, snakes and everything else. I didn't know for sure if the man who stopped would actually call the tow truck for me but I'm so grateful he did. Looking back, I was a bit foolish and I wouldn't recommend it now.
This major road trip was over thirty years ago. It was a different world then.
