You have no more evidence to support your own opinion than the op you attempt to criticise. Massive fail there. The visible evidence shows that they are dressed in clothing which has most likely been purchased with NYPD funds and they perform publicly as representatives of the NYPD meaning they would be being paid to ensure coverage with workplace and third party liability insurance if any of them are injured.
@@harryricochet8134 1. I did not claim that zero tax dollars went into this just pointed out that there is no mention of the NYPD spending money on this.
2. Even If their jerseys were bought with NYPD money I doubt it’s a considerable amount and I don’t see anything else they would have spent money on for this dance team.
3. I don’t see any evidence that the NYPD has to cover officers insurance if they are injured in a non work related injury just because they are representing the NYPD. If this is true it would be under specific uncommon circumstances that doesn’t contribute to a noticeable amount of spending. (Also apparently NYPD officers are excluded from workers compensation.)

4. Overall I don’t see what all the fuss in the comments are about. I’m sure there are other occupations that have recreational activities after work like teachers for example. This seems like a good way for officers who are into dance to unwind after work and have some fun.
