He didn't just fire people for "messing up the game," their level of programming skill was far above his, and he wanted to have full control and needed to be able to understand what they were doing. Dude was so insecure that he couldn't handle having literally any aspect of the project outside of his micromanagement. Meanwhile, he stole and used a 3D model of a toothbrush that had so much detail, it slowed the game down and increased the file size greatly, and he just didn't notice.
That's crazy because as far as 3D models go a tooth brush doesn't seem like it'd be that difficult. You could probably crank that out in blender way easier than a bunch of other assets and he still asset flipped it

Like “If (action happens) do this” idk exactly how it works since I don’t know code, but if you ONLY use that to code your game, your game will be very laggy and the code will be longer than it needs to be. It’s like trying to paint a huge canvas with the world smallest paint brush. It will eventually work, but there are infinitely better ways to do it that will give you the same result.

@@marinated-pollotbh, I’m pretty sure he could have just created a subroutine which contains everything within the elseif statements and then just ran that whenever he needed instead of writing it all out 4 times over (I’m not a comp sci major tho so there may be an even more effective way of doing it)

Yandere Dev lashed out at his own community for using unconventional ways to complete tasks in his own game. "I want a game that takes skill to beat" and always just patches it out when someone uses their brain. This is what kind of guy he is.

yeah, one of kubz scouts' videos that I first watched was a yandere sim vid in 2016ish when I was like 8 but recently, he made a twitter post that he will no longer be playing the game assuming he's referring to the stuff yandere dev did. I stopped following the videos youtubers for a few years now
I remember Yandere Simulator being the thing that got me into Kubz Scouts' videos. Now he's my favorite CZcamsr and I adore him, all because of his old Yandere Simulator videos. Of course I still love him even after he's deciding not to play it anymore, because I too am disgusted in what Yandere Dev did (like any normal person should be). I don't know, it's... I guess bittersweet? I know that sounds weird but I'm just disgusted in the one thing that introduced me to my favorite CZcamsr. It's just crazy.

The choice of underwear isn't fiction. It's meant to be a source of gratification for the player.

I had been following Yandere Simulator since it was first made. However. I stepped away from it a couple of years ago after its production slowed drastically and a lot of controversial material came out. I think everybody liked the game because it was a new, rather unique concept that hadn't been made before. And everybody loved supporting indie games as well. Although the game had potential, Yandere Dev's perverted mind distorted the game into some sort of weird fantasy of his. I think that's why people keep trying to remake the game by either writing fanfiction, comics, or new games. They see a great untold story behind Yandere Simulator that Yandere Dev never told because he's a horrible story writer. Though I believe it's just best to let Yandere Simulator die. No new games or remakes. Let's not keep using the story of a groomer, for his victims sakes.

His code is truly insane. Sometimes it's like you're reading a book, but you come to the realization you've been reading almost the exact same paragraph repeated over and over for the last 20 minutes.

I remember being really excited as a kid for the game to be released. I also remember that I was progressively getting more and more frustrated waiting for the game to be finished all while he was putting all of his time into Easter eggs that everyone knew about (which isn't really an Easter egg tbh). Looking back, I really should've known from the start that this project and guy were doomed for failure.
Imagine hiring a professional and complaining when they do their job.

Meanwhile, Scott Cawthon, another one man indie dev, has made multiple games that spawned books, comics, toys, costumes, etc. Creating a franchise so big, that more people seem to know who Freddy Fazbear is than Chuck E Cheese, the pizza place the game and characters was based off of. While Yandere dev, in comparison walked two steps. Where Scott did a whole marathon six times over.

As a someone who had learnt coding from 4th grade (in an educational space), his coding is horrible. I was so shocked when I saw the "female uniform" part.
It’s wild cause if YanDev literally just let Tiny Build do their thing, YanSim would be out with two DLC’s and a sequel in development like, 5 years ago.

I gave him some advice on level design and the idea of the two bladed sword when mapping...as in: you make the area smaller, using a simple load point to other maps, so it can have more detail...
The School map was....huge...no Half Life map that size would even run...even at the low level of detail it had...massive skybox where it was just wasting resources to render air...and light.
Apparently, I'm not smart enough about mapping to give Yandere Dev mapping advice, after years in tech support chats of Valve...learning the mapping programs before there were even CZcams guides to look up..no google either.
But, whatever, I still have an original copy from about 2014...never play it any more...lost the interest...🤔
There's something called culling. I haven't looked too much into it, and what I have looked at, I forget (sorry it's been a while).
But basically it only renders the elements on screen. It's how popular battle royale games have massive maps and you can still play them on a phone. This technique paired with some others (like using LOD's or even outright not loading things like foliage in until you are close to the ground) allows for big maps, without needing amazing equipment. Clearly Yandere did not hear about this fascinating development in game engines.

Honestly prefer them to Unity right now, and the Unity documentation can be confusing especially with how they explain frustum culling. There's many methods to optimise 3D environments, culling just scrapes the surface. :D

when i was a kid, i never realized how creepy and disgusting yandere simulator was, i played it because all my favorite youtubers were playing it and they were laughing and having fun while playing it, so i thought it was a completely normal and funny game, but now that i'm older, i realized i may have been a messed up kid for thinking any of that was okay, especially since they were teenagers. everyone made it seem so "normal".

seeing as he himself said that his “type” of women was “innocent, childlike and young”, i don’t think anyone was particularly surprised.

Mike Z has been proven innocent, no name employees defamed him and mutinied, and have now destroyed the game's reputation with it's infamous contraversies this year that took it from one of the highest rated overwhelmingly positive Fighters on Steam to 17% Overwhelmingly Negative Recent Reviews in numbers were a third of it's total lifetime reviews.
There's proper evidence of all this, stop spreading the unjust Slander Mike recieved, Futureclub has doomed the IP after driving off all the original creators and stesling the copyright, and are getting sued over such now.

This game has so much potential, we just need him to hand over development to someone else at this point. He even mentioned doing so in one of his latest blog posts as a 'last resort' but at this point I think it has to happen.

At this point, his game is so broken, with his terrible, outdated, coding, it would be far easier to just remake the game. And at that point, do they even need "permission" from YandereDev? The majority of his assets are just premade assets he doesn't own. If someone recreated the game with original assets and models, and have it take place in a university instead of a high school, they should be fine. YandereDev doesn't own the concept of a yandere character.

Such a shame about yandere simulator, I had really high hopes for it through the early to mid development but the "core of the game" was lost along the way. Would love to play a game like this that actually looks like a game and not a sandbox...

I always thought the storyline was creepy af, but I'm not gonna lie as a teen I enjoyed playing that game just because of how unhinged and weird some of the methods of "extermination" can be

Ill add that Bijuu Mike made an announcement that he wont be touching yansim after he learned about what yandev did (he added that he wont take the videos down as they are such a huge chunk of his life and the series like how to catch a cheater mean a lot to him but he will not play it further) Kubz Scouts was also someone who used to play it a lot who also announced he wont play it when he learned.

Don't blame the game blame the developer
There's a sort of common idea in the art community that the less detailed something is the more insane the creator, like they just can't "get out their demons"
Yan sim's creator having all these basic perverted ideas but lacking the imagination to go further kinda bears that out!
You could literally change the premise to adults in an office building, give the yandere access to a car, heavy machinery, and so forth, and it would be millions of times better than this outcome. But the fact it was school aged girls was the first, very large red flag.
Or even just make a College deal so most of the themes can be reused but with legal ages
You could maybe play as a scary office lady like in that one weird anime with that teacher that _really_ wants to sleep with this other teacher or something.
Except with a lot more stabbing.
That actually seems like a pretty much objectively better idea when you realize it would actually mean the game would be less limited in terms of gameplay mechanics, atmosphere, & level design & the character designs & outfits would have more variety.

My gf was jealous when i told her that i have talked to him once and she wanted to talk to him too.
Then i showed her the convo and she now hates the guy. She likes the game for the concept which i can totaly get behind.
I've even looked at the games code with her and showed her how i (and ANYONE ELSE) can replace multiple lines with a single one.
She understood what changed which is insane because she has never qctualy worked on ANY code. This just goes to show how little yandere dev knows about coding. He is not a game dev, he is a middle aged man trying to be a game dev
