That's what I thought was happening 😊. I just thought the darkening was normal because of the turn over. I just put it down to the side effects of retinol purging and it should settle in a few weeks :)

From last 3-4 days I am using Tretinoin gel USP 0.025% at bed time without any moisturizer but After using retinol, the skin looks flaky in some places (around mouth, forehead) and wherever the skin is flaky, there is a slight burning sensation. Should i stop using retinol ? Kindly suggest.

Helo aysha here lemme say you how to control it! I had SD for 2 half yrs it started by nose after 1 yr it got on my cheeks as well with yellow flakes and red patches with unbearable itching. So by going through lost of youtube vids i got know that its a long term condition all we can do is control them but cannot stop them for ever!🙂 so there was a comment by saying apply moisturiser it can be controlled. Till that i never ever used a moisturiser causei have extremely oliy skin but felt like giving a try cause i was sick and tired of it😵💫.
So i started a moisturiser and it started getting back to normal 🥹🥹 i took lots of medications, cream which given by dermatologist but i swear they only give relief for few weeks then its back to same 🥴. All i want to say is use a moisturiser properly it will go for sure🤝just trust me 🫠. Hope this happened

U have to use life long ,pigmentation is like diabetes, it never reverses ,use alternate days n slowly reduce retinol, but you can't stop retinol in ur life 😢
