Hive Update September 2023

Colonies seem to be doing ok, Apivar treatment done. I plan to do an oxalic acid treatment around Christmas time. Best wishes to you all.

Do you insulate your wooden hives for winter? I did last year and it made a big difference. I also made some polycarbonate crown boards so I can keep an eye on them without needing to disturb them…it’s been a real game changer for me and I’m forever lifting the roof off just to take a peek

Thanks David. Yes, I will be doing this, have some poly sheets which will go above the top frames board, with wooden roof on top.
