    Messi’s dribbling is definitely the most effective. He goes through the middle and rides challenges as if they’re not there. & the ball is almost stuck to his foot at all times.

      Messi is the greatest controller of a moving ball, I've ever seen.
      His body feints, sudden switches off directions, are incredible. All done at break kneck speeds, is mind blowing. His control of the ball in really tight area's, surrounded by a sackful of oppenents, really pressing hard, is unrivalled. Doing all of that, while running with the ball at faster speeds than Maradona.
      I saw the whole of Maradona career & while, he played at a time when defenders had the licence to kick you up in the air like a volley beach ball. There was a lot more spaces & time on the ball, due to a lack of the kind of hard pressing from oppenents, like we see in the modern gane. So Maradona had more space & time on the ball, to weave his magic.

Ronaldo went to Juventus and then Manchester United. I use to always defend Messi but he has been atrocious at PSG with only 3 goals to his name. @Donquixote Doflamingo Are you for Real? Ramos is player of Messi's same generation. A young Messi had played and dribbled past legendary players of the time like Cannavaro, Roberto Carlos , Nesta and so on. You will have to be baffled by his longevity. Then absolutely dominated the best defenders of his age ans generation
      He had delivered unreal perfomance against arguably the best teams of his time like galactico Real Madrid , Ucl finals against Man United and so on which is a long list.
      Maradona is a legend of the game alright. he can never claim Messi's longievity or consistency.
      You can't be relative about Messi's dribbling and ball control . Because he is unparalleled.
      I can say without doubt no player in history of this game has scored more solo goals than Leo . That's taking on 4-5 defenders week in and week out.
      Your claim Messi being 'dispossesed' is funny because he's a Barça player who is always on the ball and never loses it that's his game.
      He is good in tight spaces and that's specifically because of his Barca culture

      and @Vishnu Jain Don't waste time to argue with someone like Donquixote who only plays soccer on paper. It is more difficult to dribble pass the organized system. Many people who never dribble on the real game undervalue the way Messi did. I watched videos show the way Maradona dribble, mostly he got foul by defenders. People can say it is more difficult time to dribble because defenders can play more violently. But they dont talk about pace, developments of defense in term of individual quality and organization. Players always know that it is easier to dribble if all defenders jump in to you than someone press and another one support. I also want to note that why Messi is the best because the number of dribbles he did, the ending of each dribble what is very different from other players even Maradona. What on earth people can compare a player can score after dribbling with players mostly pass or get fouls! I bet these typing heroes never ask themselves how many solo runs through 3-4 defenders Maradona scored a goal?

      You can't compare eras chief. A player in the 80s did not have to worry about being under the level of scrutiny in 2021. The amount of data and stats allows managers to create tactics that are more precise and use players more effectively. Players run faster. Have better diets. And are more intelligent than ever. If someone like Mbappe with his level of speed played in the 80s no one would ever be able to catch him. He could run in a straight line each possession. There were professional players in that era who held secondary jobs especially in the lower tier leagues. This argument is always hilarious to me. Messi has the best ball control ever🔥🔥 .Neymar has great skills and I love to see him play but he is more like a showboater .You see you have seen Messi take alot of solo runs in which he scored outlandish goals where neymar mostly dribble in a compact area .Neymar has taken solo runs in his career but it’s a way less than Messi’s amd Messi has also scored on those runs .

In his most players didn’t have any diet ,infact they used to drink beer non stop as a result was slow and fat and their is Messi who destroys defenders like Van djik,Sergio Ramos whose physicality is 1000 times better than the defenders of Maradona’s era .So you little young man ,don’t talk about things you don’t know .

    Maradona by a country mile. He had to control the ball whilst playing on pitches that lower division sides would be ashamed of, all whilst opposition players tried to kick him or similar players such as John Barnes out of the game.
    Compare that to Messi who gets to play on pristine pitches, and who gets more protection from referees than any other top flight player in history. If an opposition player so much as breathes on him he gets given a free kick or penalty.

    • @abhishek5643
      @abhishek5643 Před 2 lety +1

      exactly Jay, the pitches were bad, defenders were kicking him and too hurt him. don't forget the game was far too physical back then, the infamous copa del ray final which barca lost turned into kicking spree after and throughout the match. Maradona most of the time played with carrying some or other injury throughout as because of the physicality. Today's generation of players are too much protected, the challenges he faced will be straight red challenges in today's era but still people are arguing about messi's case. Even R9 was better than Messi in his prime and probably these guys wouldn't have watched him, he was a beast, could dribble, have pace, have strength, better finisher for sure than Messi.

      Yeah true, but messi is playing against a lot better defenders. They are faster, smarter and stronger than back in the day. There are also systems that are created purely to stop messi from playing, that wasnt the case in maradonas time. The pitches were bad, but the opposition that messi faces is levels above maradona.
