In CR7's 1st 5 Serie A games for Juventus, he assisted in his 2nd game, scored twice in the 4th and scored again in the 5th: that's 3 goals + 1 assist in his 1st 5 Serie A games.

At Barca the team was built around him, at PSG it isn't. He was Barca's core and Barca was the team that played for him - that is why both are failing so hard when they separated.

Yes, I have heard similar opinions many times..., every time Messi is not doing well (as the World Cup) it is a normal understandable situation due to external factors. When Cristiano is not doing well it must be his fault and when he is doing well it's because something external made it easy for him (he already knew the league, his team mates are good, he scores so many goals only because he is lucky and is at the right place). I would prefer to listen that both are great players, we are lucky to see them play, but Messi probably requires things to be more tailored towards him, while Ronaldo can do well even when the style of play changes or his teammates are not so perfect or in tune with him. I personally think both are amazing, but not perfect, and that it's OK to say Messi has limitations.

As far as adapting to a new team/style of play is concerned, it is easier for Ronaldo as compared to Messi simply because of the position he plays at.
No digs at Messi (arguably the GOAT) but he might not be as successful (as far as individual stats go) as he once was. PSG might be leaps and bounds ahead of United in terms of overall collection of talent but might not have much to show for it in the end.

You can’t compare Ronaldo going back to a club and league he knows (Manchester United/Premier League)… Okay fine, how about Ronnie going to a new league and team in Real Madrid/La Liga and Juve/Serie A??? He dominated both leagues while there, and didn’t need much time, if any to adapt. This is what separates these two great players in my opinion. Messi is a product of a good Barcelona system built around him. You take him out of that situation, and he’s like a fish out of water… Ronnie on the other hand is just a straight baller! The team, system, and league don’t matter, as he’ll still find a way to be successful individually, while helping his team win.

Coming from someone who loves both Messi and CR7, Jules is so wrong. At Juventus, Ronaldo scored 7 goals and 4 assists after his 1st 10 games at Juventus. Messi is really having a stinker at PSG at the moment where he is not influencing games like he did at Barca (he is just having that odd moment of brilliance like the goal against Man City, 3 goals and zero assist in 8 games is not the standard of Messi we know). Ronaldo is really a beast. He joined Real Madrid, Juventus and Man U and just hits the ground running. Like Sir Alex Ferguson previously mentioned, he feels CR7 can play in any team while Messi needs to play in a Barca style team to play well. Seems Fergie is really spot on as CR7 is really adaptable.
